  1. The hernia is definitely not a deal breaker for surgery. Lots on here Get theirs repaired during surgery. I will be having sleeve, hernia and gallbladder. Yikes
  2. I just posted about this the other day if you want to read peeps responses http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/57149-gallstones-anyone/
  3. Glad all is going well with you! The lung Dr today was making nervous saying how bad recovery will be with the sleeve hernia and gallbladder. Good luck to you
  4. Here is a recipe I found yesterday. It was pretty tasty. I think cooking the oats with the cinnamon helped a lot. I didn't do the milk or the honey but did add about a teaspoon of brown sugar. Probably less than that. I also added a teaspoon of flax seed to each serving I made. I'm sure you could also add Protein powder http://www.food.com/recipe/irish-steel-cut-oatmeal-139298
  5. I'm not sleeved but I asked my nut this question bc I eat steel cut oats and she said it was fine. I plan on adding protein powder to it as well.
  6. Anyone have an enlarged heart going into the surgery (that you knew of) and still able to have surgery? We're there any special precautions that had to be taken during surgery? TIA!
  7. Sorry to you that have had attacks. I know they can be painful. I personally have not experienced one but a very close friend just had hers out a few months ago. I saw the pain and the amount of er trips she had. I have to wait on a call from the surgeon but if he recommends it I might as well get it out. Thanks for all the responses.
  8. Just had my preop abdominal ultrasound and found out I have gallstones. Tech said my Dr will call me to discuss. Have any of you also had your gallbladder removed? So as of now I am having the sleeve with hiatal hernia repair and now possible gallbladder removal. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!!!
  9. Anyone have an enlarged ventricle? What does this mean?
  10. Congrats! I got my approval today as well
  11. My pulmonary will expire 11/11 and my ultrasound isn't until 11/20. So my surgery has to be after that date. I'm freaking out. This is all becoming so real now.
  12. Congrats to you both! I have to get pulmonary clearance again before they will schedule my surgery. But I'm still shooting to be done before the end of the year.
  13. You're right. Thanks jersey girl
  14. Thank you. Now I have to tell my family. I was waiting to find out if I was approved. I'm so afraid they are going to be disappointed with me that I'm afraid to tell them.
