  1. I am watching a repeat of the Doctors. They have a woman who weight lifts with her vagina. If you go to the Doctor's web site you can watch the video. TMI for me. How gross is that? Just thought I would share today's grossness with everyone.

Sorry about your hair loss. I take Biotin 5mg every day. It helps with hair and nails. I get mine from Bariatric Advantage. They are capsules but being that they make all their products for WLS they go down very well. I buy about 5-6 different vitamins and minerals from them. I did have a small section of hair thinning. I didn't know until my husband said something while I was getting a haircut. My stylist had class and wasn't telling me.
  3. Sometimes people just stop eating after 20 minutes. Are you putting too much food on your plate? I have under 2cc's in a 10 band after 1 year and I usually do great. Maybe talk to your dietitian for eating advice. Are you having enough protein as your first food item? I try to have a salad every day an hour before dinner to make sure I get some veggies into me. It really fills me and makes me eat less at dinner time.
  4. Good for you and your NSV!! I love your father's quote. I hope you don't mind but I am going to use it, too. Keep up the super work you're doing.
  5. I would talk to your doctor before you get another fill. I was banded last July and with 3 fills have less than 2cc's. I see my doctor every 2 months. Each doctor is different but really, talk to him first. Maybe also see your dietitian and see where your eating can be in more control. Good luck.
  6. When you can have mushie foods they sometimes included applesauce. Just follow the doctor's rules, your doctors. How about sugar free popsciles. I have them every day, still. I love them. It is considered liquid but I sort of chew them. When you make a protein shake, freeze it and have it like ice cream. Good luck with your new journey.
  7. Thank you for sharing your story. I am sorry you got so sick. I wish you a lot of luck with getting back on track. Please keep in touch. We are all here to help you if you need it Arlene
  8. Totally agree about the band vs other WLS. It can be removed or fixed. Removing your stomach, gone for good !
  9. The worse pain is from the gas they fill you with. A heating pad and walking helps a lot. In a few weeks you won't recall any of it. I didn't. Best thing I did. I can play with my grandsons and not get out of breath in 2 minutes. Your children will be happy with a mother that can keep up with them. Good luck, you'll be fine.
  10. I am losing slow but then I don't exercise enough and sometimes eat the wrong foods. I am not worried as long as I don't gain. I have been about the same weight for 3 months and my doctor is fine with that, too. How do your clothes fit? Mine get bigger and that is a loss.
  11. Wonderful, your weight loss. We have all lost weight on our own but we can't keep it off or all of us would not have had the Band. The band is the tool to help us control our over eating. It works great for me and reminds when I eat too much or too fast and the food gets stuck. I had second thoughts about 5 minutes before I wheeled into surgery. A lot of people do and I think that is normal. Maybe you're just not ready right now but might be in a month or so. I am thrilled with my results so far and know I still have a ways to go. Good luck with your decision.
  12. On my pre-op I had 2 shakes a day and then for dinner it was veggies and 4 oz protein. So according to my diet, you were fine. Maybe ask your dietitian or doctor. Good luck with the surgery. As for going to Disney, will you be strong enough to walk that much so soon after surgery? I would wait until you can eat real food. But then disappointing a child stinks.
  13. You look amazing! Congratulations on your success
  14. My doctor said 6 weeks. Ask yours. Each doctor has their rules. Walking was allowed the day after surgery within reason. If you do it, good luck!
  15. Sorry to hear your having problems. I use only chocolate. I use the following: 8 oz FF milk, 1 scoop protein powder (Body Fortress), a little decaf instant coffee (kills all flavors), a little peppermint extract and then tons of ice. It tastes super. I have been drinking these for 15 months for breakfast and I am not sick of them at all. I have a small Hamilton Beach blender. After I put in everything I fill it with the ice. I use small ice cubes. Good luck.
  16. I retain water and never use salt. Salt is in everything. I over weigh myself, meaning 4-8 times a day. I will weigh myself at bed time and by the time I wake up, after peeing 4 times during the night, I can be down as much as 6 pounds. Just last night I was 5 pounds more than this morning. CG, does not have a metal monster because she weighs herself as much as me. Only her doctor has the scale. Her husband, a saint, threw her monster away. My son tried to throw mine out and I would have killed him. Like Missy says, every day the scale does change. Don't be hard on yourself.
  17. I buy Body Fortress at Walmart. I use chocolate only. I put 8 oz ff milk, 1 scoop mix, a little decaf instant coffee, a little peppermint extract and tons of ice. It is very thick and tastes great. I have been drinking these for 15 months for Breakfast and I am not suck if them.
  18. I take Bariatric Advantage's Chewable Probiotic. 90 pills are $24.95. They taste fine.
  19. Very sweet husband! You really look great.
