Why do we develop food intolerances after surgery?

I am not sure why this is but I developed a severe allergy to dairy short term from 3 weeks for about 3 mos post op and I mean severe I was hospitalized for extreme uncontrolled abdominal pain and the only thing they could ever attribute it to was dairy products all of them lactose or no I couldn't do whey protein bc it comes from milk. I went a week in hospital test after test and they even made me eat a bagel with GI contrast and found nothing. The only thing that seemed to make it go away for me was not eating anything that had milk traces....and then at almost 4 mos it went away?? -

I think bc most of the base ones give sound nutritional advice bc they also function outside of bariatrics and are not worried about the surgeon's results as much as the patients health. This is not to say that other Nuts aren't good but SOME Nuts do cater to the wishes of the surgeons they work with when advising as far as wanting extreme low carbs etc. for example some of the Nuts in a Bariatric Center or Weightloss Clinic .My actual surgeon seems to agree with the Nutritionists at Lackland and they all work together but I know that the Nut would have no problem voicing her opinion if it differed from the surgeon bc Bariatrics isn't her sole job so she wouldn't be afraid of losing work if the surgeon was upset. OP Sorry if it seems like hijacking but I think some of the folks who are doing extreme low carb low cal have Nuts that are part of their Bariatric Program which isn't IMO the best bc it seems like there could be a conflict of interest between surgeon and nut. It sounds like your Nut is good and I would follow her advice and your results may not be supersonic but you may be healthier overall of course this is my opinion . -

Awesome job ! Can we be friends on MFP? My username is Kaliforniagurl what's yours? I am a military spouse too:) -
I was talking to Aussielady ...Even if the OP called herself one it is not as if Aussie was addressing her by merely stating her username she was actually calling her out as one. The general tone of all Aussie posts on this thread make her posts seem like personal attacks...Which IMO is totally unnecessary .

I think I answered this but not sure Figleaves.com has bra sized swim tops with or without underwires they have a ton of brands. I like the bra brands like Freya which is my fave but I bought a Figleaves brand tankini that is cute in a 36F and bottoms Ina medium. I am 5'2 and a size 10.Prices are competitive there too!Pic below is the one I bought. -

A lot of people experience gallbladder issues after a substantial weightloss that is why some docs remove them right away while doing the surgery. I already had mine removed before I got the sleeve and trust me you would rather have them remove the gallbladder at the same time if you can. Gallbladder attack pain is NO JOKE I had it after my 2nd pregnancy and it was some of the worst pain I have ever felt WAY more than post op pain after having sleeve and way worse than my 3 c sections and thyroidectomy. Terrible I am telling you if he will take out your gallbladder you will save yourself another surgery after your sleeve if you have the problems many have with gallbladder after WLS

Another jello one is to make sugar free jello following the directions let it set until firm once set blend equal parts of cold jello and Greek yogurt and rechill for a fruity mousse type dessert you can add a little liquid Splenda if you like it sweeter and or top with cool whip free if you like.
