I was sleeved 4 months ago and remember I was so nervous every part of my body tingled so much it actually hurt. I started getting antsy and asking all sorts of stupid questions to the medical staff and my husband was laughing at me. I remember being rolled in the operating room and them surgical team waiting for me at the door like you would see at a sports game receiving their team. I asked if they were there for me and they asked what my doctor's name was. When I told them, they answered "Yup, lets get this this show on the road" so positive. So I send you positive vibes! I was sleeve August 14th....four months today! My total weight loss has been 38 pounds. As I write this my eyes just opened wide when I did the math. The weight loss has been slow about 1-2 pounds a week to two weeks but it sure does add up. I started at 228 and down to 190, I'm 5'4 if that helps. I've also gone from a size 18/20 to a size 16 and starting to use regular XL pants from Aeropostale (the yoga pants and warm dorm pants). I was so excited to have been able to wear that type of clothing. My daughter (12 yrs old) is loving that I'm wearing smaller clothes and can't wait to go shopping together. That's a date I'm looking forward to!

Thank you all for your kindness and support. Turns out I have an old ovarian cyst that is In overdrive. Have to see the ob-gyn for an ultrasound to see if he wants to remove the cyst or the ovary or both. I was worried because the pain was smack in the middle of my abdomen....turned out to be something else. I'm not happy about that, but happy it's not my new sleeve.

Since this 4am this morning I've been having pain similar to menstrual cramps. I had a hysterectomy several years ago so it can't be a menstruation. I just had a urine test to check for bladder infection and it came back negative. Now the doctor wants to draw blood. My belly in the center is very tender. Mind you, I'm 4 months post tomorrow. Should I be nervous? Because I'm terrified!

I had my surgery by Dr. Carauana? He is absolutely wonderful. About 12 years ago, before he became a bariatric surgeon he did an emergency surgery and removed my gall bladder while I was just 3 months pregnant. Today I have a beautiful 12 year old young lady. So when it was time to research who was going to do my surgery, I didn't hesitate when I saw he was now doing bariatric surgery. In terms of timing when I completed my workshops with Ann Marie, I waited about a good month to get my schedule. The crazy part was once I got my date, about 5 days before surgery, I got bronchitis....in the summer! It got rescheduled and they were going to fit me I. A cancelation spot but my primary physician wanted me to wait 10 days. I finally had my surgery August 14, 2012 and today I am now 33 pounds lighter. I'm 5'4 and weighed 224. My recovery was super easy and even my leak test wasn't so bad and Im A gagger! Yuk! Good luck to you all! I live in the city as well!

How long since surgery?

Since October 11th, I've only lost 5 pounds....is this normal? I'm nearing 4 months and see that 6 months honeymoon stage getting closer. I thought I'd have lost more by now. To date, I'm down 32 pounds. Am I going to have a greater weight loss? I started at 224 lbs.

Mmmm arroz con gandules. Since my surgery, I can't eat too much of it. But everyone is coming to my house and that is on the menu too. In addition to pasteles, homemade flan, guineitos and of course the typical sides and the turkey. All of which I probably will eat next to nothing.m for some reason (not complaining) if I cook (and I don't taste) by the time dinner is done, my appetite is gone. So I guess I will have turkey and veggies and leave the rest to everyone to enjoy.

I use the women's one a day petite. I'm a gagger. I gag at everything. Told this to my doctor and they said to just try a multivitamin....this one isn't tiny but much smaller than others I've tried.

Today I'm at my 3 month anniversary. I've noticed I'm super tired and wondering if you have gone through this? What's going on with me.....I'm pooped!

What about the wii Just Dance games? Those are aerobic ad have sweating games that really work. I just did Zumba and burned 226 in 20 mins. Give it a try.

Tabbmarsha, What part of the city do you live? I work out at best fitness. Do you have a program that you use? Best of luck to you!

I've only lost 30 to date (almost 2 months out) but I was wondering why do you need this? How is your skin? Is it very saggy? Im trying to mentally prepare myself!

Dos 224 Goal weight 193 As of this morning 194 Not bad I almost did it but satisfied. Now on to the next goal!

I take women's one a day multi vitamin twice a day and my doc has said that is ok. I don't do we'll with chewable meds or liquids...anything that makes me gag, so they said if I can do Te one day twice, I'd be ok.. So far so good.

Protein shakes, yuck! But I can't put mayo regardless of how little, it tastes like vinegar.
