  1. I am hoping to get banded next month in Wilmington, NC but will be moving in January to Beaufort, SC. I am having a hard time trying to find a Dr that will do the fills. I have called Tri-Care and know that i need to switch from North to South and get a referral from my PCM.. which i have no problem with.. I'm just worried there won't be anyone to do my fills since I didn't get the surgery with the Dr. that will be doing the new fills. Anyone move or have any issues with a different Dr./location doing your follow ups and fills that wasn't your initial surgeon?

    Thanks for your help

  2. I am getting banded in Wilmington NC but will be moving down to SC in January. Does any one know of a Dr. near Beaufort, SC that will do fills and check ups? I'm trying to find providers online but am coming up short. I am even willing to travel to Charleston or Savannah. I am on Tricare--which i will be posting in the Tricare group too... just want to know if you guys know of anyone.

    Thanks for you help

  3. I am cleared by the psyc to go ahead with wls ... She had just stated that she doesn't think the Lapband is the right choice because of my goal weight .. I had talked to the surgeon and he said he will do which ever surgery I would like and that I am a good canidate for the lap band ... But he was wanting me to lean towards gastric.

  4. So I just recieved an email from the psych evaluator and she doesn't think the Lapband would be the right choice for me.. Since I would like to lose 100 pounds.. For all of you that have lost 100 or more pounds ... Did you have the lap band or did you do the gastric bypass or sleeve ? I know with all of them it takes a lot of work regardless .. I guess it's just a little dishearting that something I've done research on and that I think would be the best for me is realistically not?

  5. So I am hoping to have the Lapband put in end of September .. Going through the process and I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel :).. Last night I had a dream that I had the lap band and was eating a meal.. Protein first .. And apparently I didn't chew enough and felt it getting stuck.. Which is totally weird because I have no idea what that feels like.. But all I know is that I was happy and felt in control of my life ... Is it normal to have lap band dreams? Haha

have any of you had them before surgery?

  6. So just talked to the surgeons coordinator and I do have to have the 6th month weight and bp check per Tricare .. She showed me her paperwork from Tricare which stated the req. an she said a lot of patients get denied without having it. Good news though.. They are going to Schedule my surgery before the insurance approval so I can get the date I need :) .. now just praying that after September's weight check I will be approved.

  7. I have tri-care prime north... So weird if it is different for each region. Ya I called and she just read what was on the Tricare website.. And I asked specifically about the wait time and he said there isn't one and nothing is stated about it. Going I talk to the surgeons coordinator on Monday so I'll let you know what thy say.

  8. After talking to you guys I called tri care and they in fact told me they don't have a 6 month period.. But do require the proper documentation ... I have 5 months anyways so I'm going to go in Monday to talk to the coordinator to see if I can get it scheduled sooner... I'm hoping for End if September so I'll have family down and my husband here for it ( he leaves for drill field in October ) if not looks like I'll drive my daughter to Pa then come back down and try to find someone to take me.. Prayers would be much appreciated .. Hopefully it all works out as it should :)

  9. tricare doesnt have a waiting time frame.

is it your doctors office? tricare does however

request past diet attempts that you have done.

they were quick to approve. but i made sure

i covered all areas and left nothing out. (if you dont

    then who will).

Hmm.. The Drs. Office had told me that Tri-Care required a 6 month consecutive check-in with the PCM on recorded weight, BP, and weight loss attempts. They said it was a new policy... guess I will give Tri-Care a call. I know they want 5 years of history as well.. plus all the tests and other requirements. Feeling good.. I only have one more appt and then the 2 more months of check-ins before I can schedule my surgery. Have gotten a lot accomplished the past few months to get this show on the road :)

  10. My paperwork was submitted Monday and today they came back requesting additional documentation. They want 2-3 months of consecutive doctor weigh-ins. First doc appt was July 11th, made an appt for Aug 10th then they will resubmit. Hopefully it gets approved rather quickly and those are the documents that they need. :(

They will take just 2-3 months of Dr weigh ins? i was told 6 months which is making the process ever so long. Already have 4 months recorded.. wonder if they would approve with that?
