  1. Ok so I normally don't like to discuss bathroom issues but since you all are going through the same thing that I am I hope you all can give me some advice & help!!

I'm almost 6 weeks out & I'm having major issues going to the bathroom. I've even been taking Miralax & other meds but nothing is really helping. I'm starting to really worry.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue & what advice do you have.

  2. Thank you SO much kweenbee at this point I need honestly need hugs & prayers!! :-)

I will also keep you in my prayers. I can't imagine having that in your lungs with an infection. I know that must be miserable.

I didn't want you to think I was just being negative I just wanted to say what was on my heart & that is how I truly feel. I honestly feel like I have mutilated my body when if I would have dealt with this through therapy & working hard I wouldn't feel like a huge part of my life is forever changed. I would give ANYTHING if someone would have talked to me the way I am you.

I had my surgery 5 weeks ago & there isn't a day that goes by that I don't wish I could go back. I haven't had one day that I have felt "good" or even "normal" for that matter. My life has changed in ways that is unreal. It's affected how I spend time with my friends since we always like to go out to eat. "Girl Time" is over for me for a long time. I also have a hard time even being around family while they are eating.

I just feel that I was not mentally prepared whatsoever for everything that was going to happen to me. I only focused on the great things that could be done & not on how this would truly affect my life. I hope & pray daily that a year from now I will feel completely different but at this point who knows.

Just please think long & hard & pray that God will lead you to the right direction.

  3. I will say this from my experience. My doctor did not do any of these tests before hand & I wish so badly that he had.

I also have a narrowing in the esophagus they have discovered & I am now dealing with so many issues. I had vomiting in the hospital & had to stay an extra 3 days.

I'm now dealing with horrific acid reflux that I've never had before. I'm also having to go for a scope to dilate my esophagus because of the severe swelling I am unable to hardly eat anything & am on the verge of dehydration daily.

I honestly thought that this surgery was going to be the end all fix for all of my weight loss issues & it's actually been one of the most rough & exhausting things I've ever been through in my life.

Please don't think I'm trying to be negative just consider carefully going forward with the surgery because there hasn't been a day when I wish I could go back in time & NEVER have done this.

I just wished I had more information like this before I had done mine.

  4. What you are feeling is completely normal sad to say. I would come home & fall asleep setting up. Because you are still not getting the same amount of calories that your body is used to you will drag.

I'm over 4 weeks out & most nights I come home & am in the bed by 8:30. For a night person it is tough but your body desperately needs the rest.

I was told that I wouldn't feel "normal" or have my energy back until a few weeks after eating normal foods which for me is a month away.

Good luck & hang in there!!

  5. Hi everyone! I'm hoping that you can help ease my nervousness! I'm just over 4 weeks out from having the surgery. Due to vomiting I ended up in the hospital for 3 days. Since then I've noticed that I feel like I'm choking & my doctor is wanting to do a EGD to help with that.

Have any of you all had to have that done? If so how were the results?

After all of the last issues that I had I'm just somewhat anxious about going under again.

  6. Well to let some of you know who are feeling similar symptoms they are going to do a scope to dilate the esophagus. Apparently this is somewhat common to have this. It basically has spazzums & that is causing the chocking issue. They use a scope to check on everything & then dialate the esophagus to help with swallowing.

They are also changing my medicine to help with the acid issue.

  7. I'm guessing that it is just acid that is causing this but I'm taking the Pepcid in the morning & at night. I'm also taking another med 30 min before each meal & I'm still dealing with this.

I'm worried if it's acid if it could affect the healing of the sleeve or cause any other issues.

It's issues like this that make me wonder why I even did this.

  8. I'm 4 weeks post op today. I was wondering if anyone else was dealing with an issue I'm having. All day long I feel like I'm choking on something it's almost like a heartburn feeling. I'm taking my Pepcid & also other meds to help but it's getting to the point it's interfering with my eating. I feel like when I start to eat I'm choking also.

I'm just very frustrated & just wonder if all of these issues are ever going to go away so I can enjoy actually eating again. Just feel very frustrated & really ready to feel "normal" again.

  9. I think I will give them a call so we can compare. I also notice it more when I lay down or stretch & not sure if you're the same. It's very odd.

I've lost 22lbs so far!! :) I'm happy about that but the recovery process has been rough. I ended up staying 3 days because of vomiting even odd meds. It's been a little rougher recovery than I had hoped but I'm finally getting back to normal! Hope you are doing well!! :)
