Dr Vorha for me too. Sleeve done on 10/23/12. Almost 4 months ago. Down 50 pounds, a slow looser but not one post op complication! Feeling good.

I have membership at two gyms and never go. I just bought the Total Gym XLS (Chuck Norris infomercial) and have not even used it in the two weeks I have it. It really is a shame how lazy I am. I have lost 50 pounds since mid September although these last 6 weeks only lost 3 pounds. To read that you lost all the weight with out exercising is good to me. But....I think I should be moving a bit more and maybe that's why the stall these last weeks.

I lost 18 pounds on preop diet then 15 pounds first month 9 pounds second month 8 pounds third month and now only 1 pound in the last two weeks. It's a total of 50 pounds which is great but from January on I fluctuated the whole time with a few pounds going up one then down then back up. I want to loose another 20-25 pounds. This is getting very discouraging.

I feel the same. I lost 18 pounds on preop diet then 15 pounds first months 9 pounds second month 8 pounds third month and now only 1 pound in the last two weeks. It's a total of 50 pounds which is great but from January on I fluctuated the whole time with a few pounds going up one then down then back up. I scale in every day too and I like that. I think that I could probably eat more Protein and more Water but I can't eat that much at one sitting anyway. And I know I should be exercising which I do not. But I just ordered the Total Gym XLS from the TV and waiting for delivery! Good luck to us all!

Along with being very nutritionally dense' date=' the major benefit of chia to us is that its outer membrane absorbs & retains Water, carrying it into the intestine naturally relieving the dry, hard stools many of us suffer with.[/quote']
Thanks OTR. So as long as things move along easily I guess they would have no other benefit to take them.

I had my tubes tied and yet 8 months later I was pregnant. Doesn't happen often but then again.... I have the best 9 year old son from that along with my other sons 15 & 17 and a daughter 20.

What are the benefits of chia seeds?

Has been 3 months from 10/23/12, my day of surgery, seems like a life time ago.
Preop: 220. Day of surgery: 202. Today: 171. That's 49 pounds gone so far.
Overall feeling good, sometimes a bit discomfort when I eat but just for a few seconds then it passes. Wish I could do better with the Protein intake and tracking my food but I'm ok.
The weight is coming off slow these last few weeks, but still it's going down so I'm happy.
Good luck to all of us in this journey....

chicken burgers with finely chopped onion and red/green peppers mixed in are delicious. I eat it with no bun and dip it in hummus or Greek taziki (sp) sauce.
I agree that this thread is a good read.

I had blurry eyes too and was told because of anesthesia. Mine lasted quite a few weeks. Still now at 12 weeks out I think I need new contact lens prescription unless just a coincidence that my eye sight is worse.

I think my dog was just looking for a warm spot!!I told my husband I'm about to just give in and buy her some stairs to get in easier ( she's a chihuahua) 0_o
I guess I get your doctors point.. Like I said I hadn't thought about it that way but my dog didn't lay on my tummy she burrows down by my legs.
I have a chihuahua too and funny she goes under the blankets and down to my feet too! Also have a Puggle and an American Bulldog!

I had one while in the hospital. It was removed the morning I left.

I am 11 weeks out. I find when I have even a sip of wine or mixed drink it feels like a mild warming/burning sensation in the sleeve.

My surgery was postponed for 3 weeks. I had to get 2 Iron transfusions prior to surgery. All is good now. Better to be on the safe side than rush into surgery. Good luck.
-
I was sent to a hematologist for 2 Iron transfusions 2 weeks apart. My surgery was originally 10/1/12 but was changed to 10/23/12. After the transfusions my levels were better. Good luck!

Started preop at 220. Surgery was 10/23 at 202. Tuesday was 7 weeks at 182. I think it is a little slow but stalled for a week then again for another week. But I also think the lower BMI the slower the weight loss.

Cook it in a foil packet. Lay a piece of foil down and then the salmon (have skin taken off) top with lemon juice, splash of white wine, a bit of crushed garlic, salt n pepper and some capers if you like them. Fold up the edges tightly and lay on a cookie sheet. Bake 400 for 20 min or so. Moist with some juice it cooked in.

Don't remember when really started feeling that good seems like a blur now. Seven days after surgery hurricane sandy hit my area and we had no power for a week. I feel ok now. Not 100% yet. I work everyday but in bed by like 830 am exhausted. I now I do not get enough Protein or fluids in and I'm sure that's why so tired but I do my best.

Yes I had one drain which was removed the morning of discharge. It was a bit uncomfortable while it was in. When it was pulled out it did not hurt it just felt weird.
