Why I Dont Feel Full
smithpy replied to Mslnzee2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Now that I can drink full liquids and get more liquids down I feel guilty for drinking so much. Also on clear liquids I was losing 2 lbs a day, but I've slowed to 1 lb a day since starting full liquids. I'm I doing everything right? -

How To Drink Without Gulping Air?
smithpy replied to Aaron in Tulsa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you we're just leaved you are going to have horrible trapped gas for 2-3 days no matter how small you sip. Partly because of the anesthesia. Walk walk walk to get rid of it. -
It will be here before you know it.

Vitamin Shoppe has one called Protein Blitz. It's good and is sweet tasting. GNC has one called GNC Total Lean. I like the ready made chocolate and vanilla. These are probably best for pre-surgery or week 2 full liquids. Pamela

What Does Your Stomach Feel Like When You Eat?
smithpy replied to smithpy's topic in Food and Nutrition
Thanks for all the great info. Anxious to try something different tomorrow. -
I am one week post op and just moved to the full liquid phase. I had a DanActive drinkable yogurt for Breakfast, which I sipped and ate the entire bottle with no problem. For lunch I am trying to eat canned tomato Soup with Water. I've had a few small spoonfuls, but with each one, my stomach feels like a factory switch is turning on. Everything starts moving inside. Is this normal? Also how often should we eat/drink at this phase? Pamela

What Does Your Stomach Feel Like When You Eat?
smithpy replied to smithpy's topic in Food and Nutrition
That's really interesting. It's so strange to feel my stomach. Like aliens are in there. Interesting point, my husband told me to check the sugar content and actually it was really high (10 g) on the tomato soup even though I got health request. Could be why my stomach is reacting. -

Name 5 Non-Food Related Activities - Life After Wls
smithpy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Now that my life isn't focused on food, it's time to get out and enjoy the world. Share 5 things you want to do more of. My goal is to have fun, try different things and not replace an old addiction with a new one. 1. Movies (this one is debatable as to whether food is involved) 2. Exercising 3. Reading and participating in my book club 4. Buying myself flowers once a month 5. Get regular pedicures Pamela Sleeved Oct. 23, 2012 -

I'm going outside with the kids now. It's been awhile. Thanks for that suggestion. Can't wait to shop to, just hope I don't become addicted. -
I can feel the gas moving in my stomach but it won't go away. Tried walking and GasEx. Any other suggestions to help pass the gas?

Could be the calorie make up of your drinks. I'm drinking Isopure but its so big I can only drink half a day. My husband lost a lot of weight and he swears exercise is the key. Start small and see if that helps.

Telling Your Boss Your Having Surgery..
smithpy replied to MK1986's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's worse to keep up with a lie. Think Star Jones. Medical issues are private. Just tell them you are having medical work done and you'd rather not talk about it. When you return you can tell who you want. They'll know anyway because your dropping the weight. Why not wait til closure to the date to tell them anyway. You cannot be denied medical leave can you? -
Well gas is finally passing but I have diarrhea. Yuck. This is going to be interesting.

What Multivitamin Do You Prefer?

I take Centrium chewable. My husband hated them and use liquid vitamins which I can't stand. -
