Has anyone ever tried those Arctic Zero ice creams? Supposedly 5g of sugar 150 Cal per pint and 14g of whey protein....I bought the vanilla but haven't tried it yet.

Good ideas, thanks all! I like the way Chrystal light taste but it always makes me terribly sick, most anything with artificial sweeteners don't agree with me-not sure why. Stevia I can somewhat tolerate.

Thanks a lot. I came here hoping to connect with other bypassers to help me get through this and everyone has been so nice. I'm still having such a hard time adjusting, but it gets a little better everyday. I get my last jp tube out tomorrow and the g tube out next week. I think once these tubes are out, it will make a world of difference in how I feel. I'm also able to hold things down a little better, I'm 3 weeks out and still trying to figure out what to eat that won't make me sick or dump.

I don't like yogurt and I'm allergic to fish. My mom keeps telling me about stopping the oj and now it's making me itch like crazy so i know i have to stop it asap unless I want to suffer more. I'm a juice freak, i bought packs of kool-aid mix and sone liquid stevia. Haven't tried it yet though, just been drinking Water when not drinking the oj mix.

I'm almost 3 weeks out from my bypass surgery, right now the only thing that doesn't make me sick to my stomach is cottage cheese and orange juice mixed with Water. I want more options for getting my Protein in, the shakes are starting to make me sick. Tried chicken salad with light miracle whip and was sick for two days. Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot, a good support is just what i need. I've been really depressed and i have to make this work, it's my only choice.

I'm not a fan of sugar free anything. All artificial sweeteners make me sick to my stomach. I'll be on the lookout for you! You may want to try going to Whole Foods or The Fresh Market, they have such a variety of products-more than the average local grocery chains.

Hello everyone. I'll get straight to the point, I never wanted a bypass but i got a botched gastric sleeve surgery and was unable to eat and drink for nearly 3 months. My only option to was having a gastric bypass-it was a necessary revision surgery if I ever wanted to eat or drink again. I'm nearly three weeks out and having a very hard time. I was eating ok two weeks out then all of a sudden i started becoming nauseous and losing my appetite. I have a Gtube and a jp drain tube in-jp comes out Wednesday thank God. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the fact some things I'll never be able to eat again. It saddens me. I would really love to meet someone in the Toledo or Michigan area to buddy up with, or someone i can talk to that's been through or that's going through the same. What foods work for.you what doesn't, etc. thanks in advance

Thanks Sar! I'm just letting the steroids do their job I haven't tried anything much other than ice chips but I'm even tolerating that a little better, so that has to be a good sign

Thank you all! My nurse just came to hook up my tpn, praying the next 7 days of steroids brings swelling down and no further surgery is needed. I'm just at the point where I want to keep liquids down, be on track and get back to somewhat of a normal life. I'm keeping optimistic.
-
Good luck in your surgery I'll be praying for you! I'm sure you'll come out like a champ. Thanks for your prayers, I have faith in God that the steroids will work and no revision surgery will be needed

I just.want to say thank you again to everyone for your support and encouraging words. I want nothing more in the world but for everything to go as planned and be able to keep down fluids without any revision surgery. I hope I don't sound like a broken record but please prayer for me that this swelling goes down. Right now I'm at an all time low.

Hi, looking for people in the Toledo and northwest Ohio area for support. 12 days out and having a very hard time. On IV unable to keep fluids down.

I was sleeves July 12, 2012 by Dr. Timothy Duckett, was sent home today with a picc line and nurse visits every night. I'm unable to keep down fluids and praying a week of steroids via IV will fix the problem. I'm very scared and hoping this is not something more serious than swelling. I should mention I was converted from lapband to sleeve.

Hello, anyone in the Toledo area? I could really use some support.

I haven't had much trouble with pain, still a little tender but that's about it. I only have one problem right now, which unfortunately is a major one, I can't keep fluids down. I'm just hoping I don't need anything more than an edg with dilation. A revision surgery would be a nightmare. I'm just relying on prayers and steroids to get me through Tuesday when I see the dr. I do have occasional gas pains but no big deal. I'd give anything to keep fluids down.

I'm home now and slowly nursing a medicine cup full if warm broth with many prayers. I have a nurse coming at night to do my steroids via IV. Glad to be home but would love it for the liquids to stay down.

Thank you all! Finding this forum has really helped me a lot. I don't feel so alone.

Thank you everyone! I go back to the Dr next week after being on a week of steroid treatment. They are thinking the swelling would have gone down by then, allowing them to do another scope to see if there's any problem. Of course if I'm tolerating liquids by then, no scope will be needed. If there was some kind of slip up or error in his part, I will be contacting a malpractice attorney asap but hopefully it won't go that far. Hopefully it's just swelling that will go down by next week.

It's hard for me to see the light at the end of the tunnel when it seems to be no improvement. I'm just so scared, feels like I'm losing it. How can I take care if my child in this state. I'm trying to keep my faith and not feel broken.
-
MinaT I do have ulcerative colitis and also have had carpal tunnel issues in the past. I'm just praying the swelling goes down so I can get on track. I don't even care about the eating right now, I'd just be happy to keep down fluids.

I live in Toledo, Ohio my surgeon was Dr. Timothy Duckett. I am so miserable I don't know how they could've made such a big mistake as making the sleeve too small. It's very unsettling for me, this has been one of the worst experiences of my life. I haven't seen my 3 year old son in over a week. I just want to feel semi normal again.

Well, they didn't take the drains out. The doctor said there seems to be an infection, he put me on antibiotics and if all goes well, the jp tube will come out next wed and the feeding tube the week after so everything has been pushed a week out. I was so disappointed I cried right there in front of the doctor. He said if he took it out now, I could end up being admitted.
