  1. I can so relate to weighing myself daily! But I HAVE to do it to stay motivated. I'm the kinda person that needs to "see" the progress in order to keep going and to stay on the right track. I weigh myself same time every morning, pretty much naked. When I see the decrease, I get all excited and motivated for the day. I figured out that if I skip my workout for 1-2 days, the scale doesn't budge. So I'm more motivated to get back to the gym the following day. I know this won't work for everyone. But this is my way, it works for me, and I'm sticking to it :)

  2. Does anyone else feel like they have a hair ball stuck in the back of their throat every time they eat?? It's so annoying...happens after I take 2-3 bites. I stop eating of course, and then it takes about 30 minutes for the feeling to go away. Sometimes if goes away quicker when I walk around or burp.

  3. I am one month post, no fills yet and some parts of the day I feel I can eat anything. Sometimes one mini bite chewed, was fine. Took my son bowling and we ate Wendy's for something quick. I took chicken from the wrap, chewed a lot and 3rd bite, it was stuck!! I immediately stood up and felt terrible!!!! 4-5 hours later and still feel weird. Guess I could say my first episode. Will not do that again.

So this maybe a stupid question...but if you are already stuck, wouldn't the papaya enzyme just get stuck on top of the stuck food? Does it come in pills, powder, or liquid?

  4. This is funny! I've had many "close calls" over the years, some very embarrassing! I've had to excuse myself many times while eating out over the years because I ate the "wrong" thing first. which plugged me up and I could not eat another bite and my dinner date was ruined because I got food stuck for hours. This is why I tell other newbies, while dining out in public, ALWAYS get a warm tea, or hot Soup to help open up the esophagus. I keep papaya enzymes with me and chew a few when I go out to dinner with my husband, this will allow easy digestion and I can eat food without getting stuck. bread, grille chicken, and Chinese food should always have warning signs for lap banders...haha..

What's the deal with papaya enzymes?? I've never heard of that before.

  5. B-52, I often feel very awkward when eating in pubic. How do you manage to eat the Bandit way: slow, small, and far apart, without being/feeling/looking awkward?

OMG! I feel so awkward too! My husband is the only one that knows, so he understands. But when we are out with friends, I feel so embarrassed. People start asking if I don't like my food, or I am sick. I try to come up with excuses, joke around, or change the subject. A couple of times, I got food stuck, trying to "blend in" and ended up running to the bathroom with slime coming up any second :(

  6. So I'm such a weird super-freak that I cannot make a simple decision without investigating the hell out of it, stressing over it, checking, re-checking...and even then...I still have a hard time deciding. I'm still trying to find the BEST Protein Powder out there! I've read all the posts on LBT and other sites and it just made things more complicating because everyone seems to have their own favorites, but without any majority pointing to any specific brand. I would really hate to have to waste money and time by ordering all of them:(

I need a whey Protein or isolate that is low cal, low fat, low carb, with 20-40 grams of protein...not too expensive...and something that I can order online since I'm currently living in Germany and my picking are slim. I tried and don't care for True Results brand or Bariatric Advantage. I tried unflavored Unjury...which is tolerable...but I would be sooo happy if I could actually enjoy my Protein Shakes instead. Please Help!

  7. I saw this post and starting to consider a Fitbit myself. My birthday is coming up and my husband has been asking me what I want. I went to their website and watched the videos and stuff, but still don't understand how it makes you sleep better or exercise more. Is this thing actually worth $100 or is it just a fancy pedometer and I should I ask for jewelry instead?
