I have rats in my office too, I find the turds all over the place--on my desk, floor, etc. I actually have traps set, but they haven't gotten into them

OK that's just creepy. I don't like pizza, period. And I haven't had a totino's pizza since I was like 15... the other night I told Russ I was really craving one of those old cheap pizzas (I couldn't remember the brand) but after describing it, russ said it was totino's. My belly button never tore... try keeping vaseline on it? Will help it heal and keep it moisturized..

That is a waste, i can't even eat steaks medium. I need it really raw. I've had medium-rare steaks a couple times since finding out pregnant. I must have forgotten, is that a no no?

I was wondering where you were going with this, I am slow. I was like SERIOUSLY!? LOL As for White Castle, our equivelant is Krystals. Boy I love Krystals, but I pay for it later on. We get it maybe 2x a year. I use to be able to eat a 'sackful', now I am lucky to be able to eat 1.5 of them. Yay for the band. Glad Judy was able to pipe in about Jen's false positive. I hope it gives you some reassurance so you don't go through the pregnancy stressing about it... I have known SEVERAL people to get a positive on the first test... and I have known no one to have a baby with down's syndrome.

Oh Jane, your fly story made me gaggy. There was a dead roach in my drink from Steak Out once, and now I can't ever order a drink from them. I was lucky though, I took the lid off to add sweet-n-low, and so I saw it before I drank it.

Haydee, don't let the downs thing stress you too much. My brother in laws gf, they told her the same thing, and it was nothing. She did the testing because of her age, she's 35. I didn't do any of the testing with Carson (and won't for this one either).. because, my doc explained it like this... There is a lot of 'false positives' early on, and once you get that, you go on to the next testing (in theory anyway, that's why you check in the first place). If you go onto the next testing, it is a more invasive testing and for us, it's a trip 3 hours away for the invasive testing... which brings it in full circle to, it was not going to change anything for us (I wouldn't have an abortion), so why have that stress!! The alternative would be to know in advance, but the way my doc explained it (I could kind of tell she wasn't a big advocate for it), since there's so many false-positives it causes a lot of unnecessary worrying. She said she only really recommends it if you're over 35. My friend developed the lactose intolerance while preg too. My babies like ice cream, I'm good on that front. We have mint chocolate chip every few nights I also craved milk like nuts on both pregnancies, I have a milk for breakfast almost every morning. My allergies are as bad as ever, luckily I go to the allergist again on Aug 2 and I'm going to ask for something more. When they told me I could keep taking what I was while preg, she said if I ended up needing something else they have other things. I was kind of under control then so I didn't get it, now I wake up and spend an hour almost every night (3am-4am) trying to cover my nose without covering my mouth so I can breathe without my nose itching and sneezing. I position tissues on my nose and then bury my head in the pillow lol. Still don't feel pregnant, if I didn't see the US I would still swear I wasn't. Haydee let us know the sex ASAP if you find out!!!! I need to see how well Pam is at predicting

I waited till post-op to say anything, even though you probably know.. but in our anatomy class we had to watch a video of knee replacement surgery. Oh Em Gee. It was like an hour long surgery and so brutal. Took a hammer to the knee and everything, I don't normally get queasy with medical stuff, but it hurt so bad to watch it!!!! I can't imagine what it feels like waking up from it. I'm glad they gave you the good meds! Can't wait till you can tell us how it was such a great decision when you're climbing rock walls and all that

Did I miss a stroganoff recipe?? Our weekend went by so quick, driving to & from TN yesterday was a nightmare, Carson screamed the entire time.. and we got a late start back (I wanted to be home before his bedtime) and he fell asleep the last 10m of the trip.. doh. So we had to wake him up when we got home and it messed him all up. I didn't eat from 8am-7pm yesterday, I thought I was going to die, quite literally. When we got to his parents, I figured I'd get something to eat, and they had nothing.. so then for the baby shower which was in another city, I figured driving from A to B there would be somewhere I could ask his mom to stop.. but it was all county and farms... so then we got to their house and I scrounged and they had nothing to eat. All they served at the shower was peanuts and pretzels, neither of which are a friend of mine--I did eat some, but it didn't do it for me. I had a piece of the shower cake.. then we stayed forever, and then it's more country roads, then had to stay at his parents to visit.. we didn't get back into civilzation till 7pm, and all day all I could think about was food and how hungry I was!!

Pregnancy makes me gassy, I just blame the dog  Works everytime!! Jane, I texted you what Bob texted us the minute I got it, just in case since you asked me to on FB. Funny how on days I plan to sleep in, I can't anymore. C has me so use to getting up early.

I agree with Haydee, tell her you'll hold her CC and charge a cancellation fee. People are much more likely to make their appointments when that's the case (I know, I'm one who cancels things on a whim!!). LOL that is weird Haydee. He is better today. The drops are working well, and his fever finally broke today.. he slept great for the first time in a week, went to bed around bed time and didn't wake up till this morning woohoo. We are going to the Stars Wars exhibit at the space museum tomorrow.. it's a big to-do, and though I don't care for Star Wars, I think it'll be fun to get out, I like museums. I was just reading though, it says NO STROLLERS. What! That's insane.. Russ said he'll carry him, and he can walk some. That'll be fun! Sunday we go to TN to his parents, to go to his brother's gf's baby shower. We think the daycare is stealing our diapers. My theory is laziness, they change them all at the same time unless there's a poop in between. So I think they just grabbed handfuls of diapers from his cubby because I overstocked it. Friday we put 20 diapers in, and Monday I put 8 more. On Wednesday they sent him home in a pull up and said he ran out. We get a paper everyday where they sign for changing his diapers. He goes through 3-4 a day. So From Fri-Wed, he should have used 16 at max, and he went through 28! Russ wanted to make a scene, I told him not to, I would just now start sending them every day, only what he needs. But he confronted the director this morning while I was in the car, and he said she sounds like it's been a problem. Not sure what they plan to do about it?? Diapers are NOT CHEAP.

Home with C today. For 3 nights he's been up 3 hours past bedtime, then wakes up every 10 minutes needing consoling. I thought it was teething, but he woke up this morning and his left ear was draining a lot of gunk and he had a slight fever. Called the tubes doc, he said the drops he gave us in the hospital are antibiotics and much more potent than oral stuff, so told me to give him the drops. I knew he told me they were like liquid gold, but he didn't tell me what they were or what to use them for (or maybe he did but I was too preoccupied with thoughts on surgery). So now I know, when his colds start, start giving these drops!! Hope you're recovering well today Judy!

Oh yes, my 2 cents on the baby furniture, I wouldn't go for sentiment of passing it down one day. Michelle has a more valid point, things get recalled and deemed unsafe very quickly (little things like "back to sleep" when our parents were told they should only sleep on their front). the 2" between rails rule that is new, the way they have to be connected, the drop down rails, etc. But my view is the style would radically change. You're talking 18 (AT LEAST!) years or more from now. I know the stuff my mom used for me, I've seen pics of it.. it looks so antique!!! I would never have used it if she saved it for me. The bed we bought Carson is a 3-in-1. It converts to a toddler bed with 1 half-side-rail.. then converts to a full size bed with no sides. Seemed practical at the time, but I've come to realize he'll probably get a cool race car or spongebob or whatever is popular in a year or two toddler bed. So I wouldn't even recommend the 3-in-1's anymore. For baby #2, I've already picked out the crib. It's the same color as Carson's so it will match and it's just a crib! Ann 4-in-1 Coffee-color Convertible Crib | Overstock.com It's actually a convertible bed too, but again I don't plan on using all that stuff, but it's the look I like. And I guarantee 18 years from now this will look so outdated LoL.

Yes, because my whole 1.5 years of being a mom has given me so much knowledge :grouphug:

    Shrinking violets- part 6!!!

You'll soon realize, it never gets better LOL. All through pregnancy all this stuff could go wrong, THEN they are born.. and you'd think everything under the sun could cause SIDS (which is because they DON'T know a cause, so they just make you afraid of everything that goes near your baby). I swear everything you buy has a tag that says "May cause SIDS". So then you read the statistics, once they hit 6m they are less likely, then 12m they are pretty much in the clear.. and then at 12m they are doing crap like grabbing knives out of dishwashers, and trying to stick their fingers in sockets. I'm sure then it's.. running out in front of cars, and then of course stranger danger..then it's drugs and promiscuity and on and on.... I guess the point is, you'll never stop worrying :grouphug:

Pam, the charges still haven't reversed, and we have pointed it out all weekend going "Man that's some expensive porn.". Esp. when Russ was givin me crap about spending money on buying APPLES yesterday, I'm like we spend $100 in 1 second of porn, I can buy 3 apples!!! ;D Anywho I brought a yogurt, apple, and tuna salad for today's lunch/snacks. I ate yogurt & apple already and I'm STARVING. I don't think that tuna salad is gonna cut it...... I had a horrible dream last night Haydee--I've been having weird dreams too, that's a hormone thing I do believe. But last night I dreamed we put C down for a nap, then went on an 8 hour road trip and completely forgot about him. So I was reeling thinking about him stuck alone in his crib for 8 hours during the day, etc. Then we had to drive HOME 8 hours to get him (some reason calling mom didn't occur to me in my dream). I woke up sick to my stomach from the whole thing.

I still have nothing going on, an occasional round ligament pain if I turn too fast. Some dizziness when I pick Carson up. That's why I was wondering if I wasn't really pregnant lol. Although, I had a pretty symptom-free pregnancy last time too. I never had aversions, I just loved new foods (spicy peppers, fish, plain chocolate).. and AFTER the pregnancy I no longer like chinese food (and I use to love it, even liked it during pregnancy). Now it makes me sick thinkin about it. What is CFM? My bro came by work and I didn't tell him I'm pregnant, I don't talk to him much anyway.. my mom goes "Did Laura tell you she's pregnant?" and he goes "Oh man, are you going to keep it?". He and I are on such different wave lengths. I just looked at him crazy and said "It was on purpose!" and he looked confused. Then I went back to my office, he came to apologize and he's like 'I guess I'm so detached from society, when I hear someone's pregnant it's never a good thing'.. I was like "It's not like I'm a 16 year old crackhead or something". I wanted kids. Sheesh. Heather, Carson is my big BABY. I swear everything scares him. He even has this little mickey mouse than dances & sings.. he loved it, and for a month now batteries have been dead. Russell replaced them this morning and it made him freak out, run and cry, etc. When someone sneezes, he still starts crying and making the boo face. Tickle Me Elmo scares him..I could list a million things that are silly that scare him to the point of tears.

I'm 8 weeks... I did with Carson, I meant with this one, it really scared me, felt like an hour and it was probably like 5 seconds.. Pam, it's not mushy the next day, we eat it left over too  It makes SO MUCH!!

I didn't even scan it Haydee, they just printed it out (they say bring a dvd disc for the 20w to record, but this one they just print out 2 copies, one for their charts and one for us), and I took a cell phone pic of it lol. That's why it's so fuzzy. Nothing to record, and I tell ya this nurse did it wrong.. she didn't turn volume on, so during the part where they check for heartbeat, you could hear a pin drop in the room. And she kept rechecking, I was gettin' nervous. Then she zoomed in and I could SEE the heartbeat, so I thought she just wasn't lining it up. I don't know what she was doing, then she told me it was 148. Normally they have the volume on so you can hear it and go awww baby's heart beat! SOOO Haydee, take a cell phone pic of your bean-- DUH!

    Countdown to Baby Barlow

I don't know how this affects your countdown, but the doc said she's going to schedule the C-section for Feb. 8th (week early), and that's the date unless I go into labor early.

And for spaghetti squash, if you don't think of it as a substitute necessarily for pasta, but rather, a new dish that you can put pasta toppings on (your homemade fav. marinara sauce, alfredo & sausage, etc.)... I think it helps get past the pasta thing. I originally did it as a sub for pasta-- but I don't like pasta to begin with. Russ on the other hand LOVES his pasta, but he tried it. Now he actually asks for it, and we still eat pasta sometimes (rarely since I don't like it), but he gets his fill of his fav. pasta toppings with the squash. All the 'real' recipes I ever found online for it, do weird crap like put olives & feta cheese sprinked on top. I would think this would turn out gross, because if the pasta isn't mixed up well with a sauce it's definitely squash-y. But I cook the squash with salt/pepper/garlic salt, then mix it completely with a sauce and put it in a baking dish and sprinkle parmesian or mozzerella on top and bake it so it sets. Kind of like a spaghetti casserole.
