  1. I had my first fill Friday I was a little anxious but it was nothing to be nervous about. I had no anesthetic but it was only a tiny pinch. They added .6 cc I've had gas since then. Back to mild foods but since I've been on mild easy down foods for 6 wks that's no problem. Now to try normal foods. .6 made a huge difference.

  2. It's been 3 yrs and I was down to 144 last Dec (before getting married). My goal is 135. I was almost there' date=' then my band slipped <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> . I've been gaining weight ever since <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' /> . I said I would seriously start working on it if I ever got to 160. Well todays the day. I've been staying at around 150-155 this whole year, so 160 is a pretty big jump.

If I could just stay away from my nightime eating.. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' /> .I've been the biggest advocate of not dieting. That's why I got the band in the first place, so as not to ever diet again. And I have never dieted in the last 3 yrs. Now my "free for all" has caught up to me. I don't even need a belt with my jeans anymore. Can't afford a new bigger wardrobe, so guess I have to start counting and measuring, something I promised I'd never do again <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> .

I'm bummed. Thought this band was magic! Now I'm realizing it isn't. Guess I gotta do my part too <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> .

  4. Top form you can get online has good Vitamins is low cal and doesn't taste like dirt so to speak it mixes extremely well with Water or milk

You can get Muscletech at Sam's Club but it's fairly high in sugar you migh want to try unflavored Protein powder and then you can flavor them with Crystal Light (or equivalent) drink mixes. unjury carries unflavored Protein Powder. Or try ur drink mixes with vanilla.

  5. I've had 3 abdominal surgeries:

    1-lap convert to open Staples

    2-open standard stitches

    3-lap dissolvable stitches & steri-strips

Its doctors preference and yours based on history. If you have a history of issues with dissolvable stitches they should not use them.

They didn't go through my actual belly button but they did put a port site right on the top of it. For both of the 2 laporscopic ones. That seems to be a popular central port site.

  6. Why is it people only see the Band as a way to lose weight and not a way of getting healthy? Yes the 2 go hand in hand, but most only see the weight. I'm rather frustrated with my family right now. I know they want me healthy, but they only see it as weight loss. They also have a issue with the portions. You're not eating enough.... How much have you lost? Over and over... I'm not even a full 30 days out. I've explained the first 6 weeks are healing and the portions are smaller the goal is getting healthy through proper eating habits etc. They only want weight numbers. They don't care if cholesterol or anything else goes down or a goal of mine is to get rid of a number of pills currently have to take. It's only the weight, weight, weight. Yes the loss helps in getting rid of pills and getting blood tests with good numbers, but the goal is healthy. Any thoughts or suggestions?

  7. Some may make comments you don't want to hear, but their right their trying to prepare you. What the results is is another story though. You may have that flat tummy and we will all be jealous. Something that may or may not help. It depends on the person is Vitamin E get capsules puncture the and spread them on the scars, should help stretch marks as well. B4 people jump in saying it won't work. Remember it's a case by case basis. Some it does some it doesn't. I will keep my fingers crossed for your scar free flat tummy. Good luck!

  9. I'm 21 days out as of tomorrow. So I don't have a lot of time on you. I stopped all pain meds within a week. I'm also a stroke survivor with left side weakness so that complicates it a little more. Back to point I'm still working on it. I'm finally ok on my sides and ok 3/4 the way over with a pillow. I just keep trying my sides once I got ny sides I worked on just a little extra. Somedays it was 10 seconds others I made it a minute. Take it slow. I hate sleeping on my back so my sides have been a compromise. I hope that helps.

  10. another option if u have some expensive clothes that are too big is getting them taylored if you have a mall nearby most Nordstoms do alterations for cheaper than a new pair of pants or shirt. If your in a larger city you can also look for someplace that does alterations. Depends how mant clothes and how often.
