  1. I think many of us are given conservative weight goals from our docs and dietitians. They seem to aim for the top end of the weight range for your height. I was 107kg and was given goal to 70kg but will aim for mid 60's. My suggestion is to aim initially for docs goal then when you get close decide if it suits you or if you wish to be slightly lower without looking gaunt. Either way I wouldn't worry about it too much as I am sure you will feel fabulous once the weight starts coming off.
  2. Wow, you look amazing! Almost like a different person. You must be feeling great.
  3. Yes she is great and really understands the needs of people with sleeves. I am seeing her every second month now until I reach goal and am comfortable with maintenance. I wish I had been with Di since the beginnng.
  4. Welcome and congrats on your approval. Who's doing your surgery and where? I am in Brisbane too and live at The Gap.
  5. If they do BS through the public hospital system in Australia, I can just imagine the waiting time as no doubt it would be considered elective surgery. I am glad we live in Australia with good health insurance options and a highly qualified and reliable private medical system.
  6. All the best for tomorrow. We will be thinking about you until we hear you are recovering well.
  7. Did any of you see the Sunday program last night with Joe Hockey's interview? He spoke about having the sleeve last December and how he has already lost 30kgs and feels fabulous. They briefly described the procedure too, which might demystify it for some people and make it a more acceptable choice. He talked about his young daughter asking if he would be around by the time she grows up and gets married. When he spoke to his doctor, he confirmed that if he is still around, he would not be in good health and this was the decider for him. He realised he had to do something permanent to improve his health. Good on him for doing so and I think he looks amazing.
  8. It was so great to finally meet Lissa this morning ironically when we were both visiting Melbourne. We have shared so much in the past year and it was wonderful to look back on our journey and talk about the positive changes we have both made. Lissa, you look fabulous and unrecognisable from your before photo. Keep up the great work and I loom forward to seeing you on the Gold Coast in October.
