    Hurricane Detox

Not that I feel bad but I know as I was stuck in my house for days while Sandy made her way through my area I ate way too much. I did eat protein snacks and tried to take caution to the wind (no fun intended) but I ate alot and was unable to work out and unable to leave my house which left me stagnent on the couch and looking out the windows. Looking to detox this week and get some of this crap filtered out of my body but just wanted to let everyone know that we can slip up and fall off and it doesn't mean our journey is over and I am excited and confident to post pictures in 30 days for my 120 day post op pictures
  3. I am so happy! I didn't notice myself loosing weight even though I've gone from a 22 to a 16 in 60 days. These pictures spoke mountains to me!

60 Days Post Op Lab Band

Everything is going well still...getting more h2o in....snacking less in between lunch and dinner...I tend to get my fluids in mostly at night and not sure if you should get 67 oz in throughout the day or just as long as you get them in you're fine. Hopefully I'm getting another cc in my band next Thursday since its been a month since my last fill. Other then that... my Protein shake has about 40 grams of protein .. I like jay rob (don't not like the price though) because its made with stevia and not sugar and I mix a few pumps of sugar free caramel syrup in my chocolate shake or few pumps of sf vanilla in my dreamcicle shakes... I add probably a scoop and a half to 12 to 14 oz of nonfat milk. Not overly thick either! I have one of those stubborn morning bands!

60 Days Post Op Lab Band

Also then 10 to 1 is a great way to start watching your calories .. every 10 calories you eat should have 1 gram of protein ...I did that to the point where I know if im eating a thousand calories a day I know im getting 100 grams of protein

60 Days Post Op Lab Band

I TRY to stay below 1300 calories a day but honestly I watch my carbs and Protein .. I try to get more then 100 grams of protein a day.... I also increased my Vitamin D ..vitamin D assist your body into fat burning mode ... I make the small changes in activity. I was exercising everyday but im having some unrelated band health things right now that im trying to get situated so not exercising as much but I still choose stairs over elevators and I park far away from entrances ... and try to take the long way to any destination. I also can say microwavable pork rinds save my need to want to snack on junk. I'm working on my Fluid intakes which I know will only move things along faster.

60 Days Post Op Lab Band

I think the band did something to me psychologically, even the day of surgery I kept wondering how I was going to eat. I'm still trying to find restriction but I don't tell myself or others "I can still eat whatever I want just less of it" I know thats not true and once every pound is lost I don't ever want to see it again! I get between 90 and 140 grams of Protein a day. I do not eat any carbs like Pasta or bread, I drink my Breakfast pretty much everyday. I make sure I get plenty of exercise...er except during my special time of month.... the only snack I eat are microwavable pork rinds (a true blessing), and I'm still working on my Fluid intake but I try to make sure I get at least 60 oz a day. Other then that, I can't let the band do any of the work for me because I have no restriction...I just know not one single meal I eat will ever be my last. Oh yea and I love the tiffany rothe work outs on youtube!!! I try to do a few of them everyday as my cardio warmup.

    Forum Saved My Life

So I was eating some lo mein today and didn't eat breakfast so by the time I sat down and ate at 2:30 I was starving. ( banded the 31st of july) well I forgot my rules and got stuck I freaked put for a moment but remembered reading a forum where someone said to bend at the waist and the food will come up...soooooo lucky it worked this time but wont be making it a habit. I did however feel officially banded for the first time today so Yey for me!
  17. My husband cooked for 4 weeks. I didn't like it and god I felt bad for my 7 year old because in 10 years this is the first time dad has cooked.. but I made up for family time at the table with going on walks with him in the evenings while he rides his bike....he couldn't tell you what he ate for dinner last night but he talks to everyone about what he saw on our little walks together late at night
  18. Enjoy the good drugs while you have them!!!! Maybe bring your own pillows...I wish I did! Be prepared for them to wake u up every two hours to try to pee and walk. Ice chips the first day do you're going to feel thirsty. I was mad to get woken up every two hours but I missed the morphine when I got home!
  19. Sigh!!!!! Ok so being an addiction counselor you would think I'd have a better handle on things like addiction right? Well I needed to get lapband for my food addictions like a Coke addict needs detox. I quit smoking before my surgery...like 2 months I didn't smoke. The day they called me with a surgery date I picked up cigerettes and have been smoking ever since....again. I have smoked for 13 years and told myself after this I was going to stop. 9 days post-op and here I sit smoking. I'm so upset with myself..YES I know all the health risk of smoking..and yes I know the complications I can have smoking with the band. I can't wait to get a fill but I also fear it. I want to go back on Chantix because it really is the only thing I found that has ever helped me quit with success. It really makes you sick to your stomach though and is a pretty harsh drug with some serious side effects. Do I risk it to stop smoking? I need to talk to my PCP about this because my surgeon would KILL me if he knew. I think he would probably cut me open right there in the office and rip the band right out of me if I told him. Anyone gone back to smoking or started smoking after the band...did you take Chantix?

104Lbs? You Should Be Losing That In Like 4 Months.

It's that kind of attitude that makes women leave men when they loose weight. The whole thinking back over your journey after you loose weight and realizing how unsupportive your partner is can really change how you feel about yourself and your relationship. Men will be men they mostly like us barefoot and cooking for them in the kitchen. Unfortunately not even the ones closest to us have to be in our support team. I choose to kind of keep my other half out of it because I want to do this for me and not him (even though he'll eventually benifit from it I'm sure). Just tell him that you hope by the time you loose your weight you hope he won't have E.D. hehehe...seriously though take what you need from him to heart and let everything else come with a grain of salt. He'll either come around or he won't but you may feel more empowered at the end of the day knowing you didn't need his support to be healthy.
  21. Which is better and has more protein. I know alot of people say dark is easier on the band.

    Random Thought

I need to do this for me! I've been trying for years to get pregnant and it was so easy with my first when I was a size 12. I can't be the Lapband posterchild. I know I love the youtube videos but I can't devote that kind of time for everyone to be on this journey with me. This was a decision I made before I had surgery. As for people who ask. Im doing what I need to do to get pregnant with pcos.
