  1. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I hope we are hearing some good news soon!
  2. Can't she predict you some lottery numbers or something a little more fun? In all seriousness, what a frustrating thing for her to say! I'd be annoyed too. But try and keep in mind that she cares about you and this is her unique and strange way of telling you she cares and is worried.
  3. I know that it is always awful to have to go to the ER, but I am glad that you are getting checked out. It does sound like last week you pushed yourself a little hard and set yourself back lifting a little too much - it's hard when you're used to doing so much more and then you're feeling better and it's easy to slip into hurting yourself again. I am 9 weeks out and my boss had me move a ton of boxes on Sunday and I have been having abdominal pain/burning on and off since then. A good reminder that it takes a LONG time to completely heal and I need to be a little more sensitive to my body. It sounds like you've had just a really hard time all around though, so I do really hope that this is something small that they will be able to treat quickly and get you back on the road to recovery. Let us know how it goes - I'll keep you in my thoughts!
  4. You look fabulous! =) You are gonna be in onederland in no time!

    Size Versus Scale

I always feel this way. I read about people who are in 270s and in 22s. I am barely in 24's. But this has always been the case for me - I just carry more weight in my butt/thighs. You are probably just proportioned differently than them.
  6. I started at 325 with a BMI above 50. I am 9 weeks out and down almost 50 pounds. It's working great for me. I think that sleeve is more realistic for my life than bypass, plus I will have lifelong restriction as long as I treat my body right. I am so glad that I didn't get bypass, though my doctor was definitely willing to do bypass had I wanted it. Do what you think will work best for you, not what we or the doctors think because you're the one who will have to live with it. I hope everything goes well in your appointment.

    So Frustrating!

This just sounds like a stall to me. You had surgery about a week after me and are down five or more pounds than I am - so I think we're both pretty much right on target on weight loss. I got stuck in a three week long stall towards the beginning. It was horrible, but it broke eventually. If you're doing all the right things the scale will eventually start to show it again. You're doing great, try and focus on all the NSVs you must be having =)
  8. You are brave going back one week post-op! I was still in a lot of pain and taking naps every day at that point. I'm glad to hear you got there fine =)
  9. I can imagine the scar tissue, as well as the complications the patients getting revisions have had with the band make it a much more complex procedure. Definitely a good reason to make sure your doctor has a lot of experience as well as experience with revisions.
  10. Have you talked to your husband about how you feel? Honestly if I was taking someone I loved along with me on a trip I wouldn't have a second thought about what my coworkers and boss thought about them. I have a feeling he is probably proud to be with you, and that you're the only one worrying about this =) But you will be down quite a bit by then. I'm about 9 weeks out now and down 47 pounds. I feel like a different person sometimes as far as my confidence, which is apparent to people even more than weight I think.

    95 Lbs So Far...

Congrats! You are doing awesome, keep it up.
  13. I would definitely be interested in information about this too. So far I'm trying a dry skin brush and ab workouts. We'll see how it goes.
  14. I see a big difference ! You look great - no wonder those heads are turning =) Totally your ex's loss! With all that head turning you will have a new guy in no time!
  15. What a difference! You must really be feeling a difference. Oh man, you two have me on a Dr. Pepper craving now - I would kill for one too! Maybe in a few months I'll have just a glass.
  16. It took me weeks until I could lay on my side. It felt like my stomach was hanging. Tucking a pillow under it helped a bit and over time it got better so I don't need to even do that anymore.

    My APRON ----UGHHHH!!!!

Did you end up getting insurance to cover it? What kind of documentation/qualifications did you need?

    How Many Insisions ?

I had six - but also had a hiatal hernia repaired so it would have been 5 without that.
  19. To me it looks like more of an allergic reaction to the adhesive from the glue or tape. But it could be an infection, yes. Definitely make an appointment with the doctor. Feel better!
  20. Don't regret it even a single bit. I'm 2 months out and down 40+ pounds. Absolutely has been an incredible journey and I can't wait to see how it continues to progress.

    How Should It Be Explained?

I would just tell him that you're taking a short medical leave and that your husband would like to be there for the appointments, but that it's nothing serious. That way he won't worry, knows it's a medical reason, and gives good reason for your husband to need time off. If you want to explain further in the future it still leaves room open to.

    The Food Porn Problem

I guess I should turn off the Food Network more often then. It's just so much fun to watch them cook! It does get my head hunger going sometimes though.
  23. I'm pretty sure that they tell you to wait a year or two before having any plastic surgery done. Some people still need it after that point and some don't. Even if you still need it, it may be less skin you need to remove (and less risk). I've read a lot of threads and articles that doing weight training during weight loss can help tone, so maybe try that too? You might be surprised where you are a year from now.
