I have also had a similar issue with an unfill. I kept getting stuck and having acid reflux to the point I had to start taking OTC meds. I felt satisfied with about 1/2 cup (sometimes less)of food just had bad acid reflux. Dr said I might be too tight so he took out 1 cc. Needless to say, I had hardly any restriction. I gained 10lbs. I had a 1/2 cc fill which is where I currently am. I still don't have hardly any restriction and I am not getting satisfied when I eat. I am hungry after just a couple of hours. I find myself grazing and just wanting to eat. A lot of it is my fault for not eating right and exercising like I was doing. I've lost some of my mojo. I think I messed up by getting the unfill. It was probably more me than the band. I go back this week for another adjustment. I'm a little embarrassed b/c I know I have gained again but I have to keep pushing on. I don't want to go back to the weight I was. I started out at 269, got down to 190. Now I'm at 200. I was banded in May 2014. Thanks for your post. I thought I was going crazy. Good to know others are having similar issues. Good luck to you.

I had to have my gallbladder removed 6 months after being banded. I heard a lot of ppl with wls have probs with their gallbladder. No probs with pancreatitis though.

How do you know when your band is tight enough? I was banded in May & have had 4 fills. My Dr always asks me if I want a fill or not. Problem is I'm not always sure if I need one or not.

I had my first feel about 2 weeks ago and it was not bad at all. I barely felt it. No pain afterwards either. I went right back to doing normal activities after my appt. He had me gradually introduce solids again, 2 days Clear Liquids, 2 days full liquids, 2 days mushy foods, then back to solids. I got 3cc's in a 14cc band. He said it would be the biggest fill I would get.

WOW! You look amazing! I'm 40lbs down and counting!

Dr said I was doing good & could go to mushy stage for 7-10 days then on to solids. He took all but 3 of my steri strips off, he said they would be ready to come off in a couple of days. So far so good!

I'm going to the Dr today for my 2 wk post op checkup. Hoping all is well. Ready to get these steri-strips off, they are itching like crazy! I started walking again yesterday, walked for an hour. I weighed this morning & lost 2 more pounds! 27 pounds total! Hope everyone has a blessed day!

Yeah that makes more sense, it feels like it pinches me from the inside if I move a certain way, like I pulled something.

I'm 11 days post op, up until today I haven't had any major complications. I'm still on the liquid diet until Tues. Today I had a small caramel frappe from McD's. Shortly after, I started feeling uncomfortable, like I was sore where my port is. Then my lower stomach started hurting. Then I started having pain just above that area (prob where my lapband is). I had to lay down, but I'm still having a little pain. Anyone else had this? Maybe I had too much?

I had a c section 14 yrs ago & I dont remember the pain being as bad as it was for me the first 2 days. Maybe it was just a different kind of pain. But everyone is different.

Thanks y'all, glad to know I'm not in this alone.

Thanks for the encouragement, I'm trying. Good thing is I dont get a headache or nausea with the hunger like I use to before being banded.

I'm 4 days post op, my appetite is definetely back. My Dr wants me on an all liquid diet for 2 wks. Only Clear Liquids, broth, SF popsicles, & SF Jello. I have been doing all of that, but I'm not getting satisfied. The nurse told me yesterday I could have 1 Protein Shake a day. The Protein shake does hold me over but I can only have just one. I just had 1 cup Tomato Soup, I'm still hungry. Any suggestions on what I can do? I have 10 more days to mushy stage.< /p>

I just got home from my two week post-op appointment (surgery was 5/6 so just shy of two weeks). First they were shocked at how much weight that I have lost since they last saw me in the office (less than a month ago' date=' 30 pounds!). They were all ecstatic for me and one of the nurses (who is banded), remarked how jealous she wasThen, they took my blood pressure. It was low. They cut my dose in half!!! I have another appointment in two weeks, she said depending on how my BP is she might take me completely off of it! I can't even explain how happy I would be to get off of this medicine. I have been on it a few years. I'm only 28, it sucks to be on it this young. I went through 8 rounds of intense chemo 11 years ago. The most common long term problems deal with heart problems. I need to do my part to minimize the likelihood of heart problems. Cutting my dose in half is a GREAT start!!!
Coming home I got stuck on the highway (office is an hour away), in a lightning storm. Even when I was driving 9 miles an hour on the highway I had a huge smile on my face!! I use to dread going to the doctor. I usually gained weight, my BP was high, some type of problem came up.., But, after today I can't wait to go back in two weeks! I KNOW I'll weigh less than I did today and I HOPE that I can go off of BP medicine. Even if I can't, I know eventually I will!
Thanks for reading![/quote']

I just had LBS yesterday. Just remember baby steps, the first 24 hrs are pretty rough. Remember to bring a pillow for the ride home. Good Luck!

I am having surgery in a week (5/14). I will be on a two week liquid diet. Basically, anything I can drink through a straw. I am thinking chicken broth, Protein Shakes & Soups. Any suggestions on what to have on hand? I know it's gonna be rough the first few weeks but I want several options so I don't get tired of the same stuff. Thanks!

WOW! That is a great day, I too am having my surgery on May 14th! I will pray for you that day if you will do the same for me, ok?

Most people who do not have true weight issues, do not understand why we would do something so extreme over "simple" diet and exercise. I'm guessing that your mom is truly concerned for her child; surgery, foreign implanted device, etc. Sometimes it's hard to differentiate concern over judgement. I think you're right.....she will come around when she sees you becoming a much healthier...you
Thanks MRSINTO, thing is, she's also struggled with her weight all my life pretty much. That's why I said she suprised me, I thought she would've been more understanding. But I guess being a mom myself I do understand her concern.

My Dr puts his patients on a 2 weeks low carb diet. He said its like an Atkins diet. I have actually done this diet before and lost a lot of weight but got tired of eating the same things. He said its to shrink my liver, it makes it easier to get to your stomach since your liver sits on top of it. He also said he can tell when someone doesn't follow the pre-op diet b/c it takes him longer to their surgery. And believe me I ain't trying to be on that operating table any longer than I have to. :) Is there a low carb, decent tasting shake, that anyone can recommend?
