How has your recovery been so far? Have you been in a lot of pain? I am scheduled for Sept 4th. I am excited, but the closer it gets the more nervous I am getting. I would love to know how things have been going for you in recovery.

I got approved today for surgery!!!!!! I am scheduled for Sept. 4th, and I start my liquid diet on Wednesday. I am so super excited, but now I have some questions. My poor husband is super nervous about surgery, and I have been trying to calm his nerves. We would like to know how long I will be back in surgery? I figure about an hour, but I was not sure. Also, does everyone have a drain after surgery? How long do you have to keep it in? I am sure I will think of more, but just want to start getting some answers.

I got approved this morning...about an hour after they sent in my final paperwork!!!! So super excited, and my surgery is scheduled for Sept. 4th! I start my liquid pre-op diet next week. YAY!

I am 28...so I am a little older, but I am still in the early stages of this process. My paperwork was submitted last week, and I am still waiting on my approval! I will be more than happy to answer any of your questions...feel free to message me! Good luck...I am sure it will all go great!

Hey guys! So I finally got the rest of my paperwork resubmitted to the insurance company. For me they wanted additional information about how my doctor was treating my hypothyroidism and some more notes from my doctor on the supervised diet. My surgery coordinator, Peggy, is amazing! She has busted her bottom to help me get all this paperwork together and submitted. She thinks I should hear something by the middle of next week! I am so STINKIN' nervous!!! Praying it is approved with no issues!!!!! SRAMOS- CONRATS ON YOUR APPROVAL! That is awesome news!!! Do you have a surgery date???? I am happy for you! Please keep me posted on how all this goes for you moving forward!

Yes, ma'am! I will keep you in my thoughts as we make our way thru this process! I am still waiting on the additional paperwork to be gathered. Just praying that it all goes smoothly, and by the end of this year I can start to get my life back! It is super comforting to know that we are not alone!

So my information was sent to my insurance company, BCBS of Rhode Island, a week ago. They came back yesterday requesting more paperwork. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with BCBS of RI and if them requesting more paperwork was a good sign? Just nervous and hoping this works out....the waiting is brutal!

This is the reason that I am having surgery as well. My husband and I have been trying for over a year, and my doctor recommeded maybe having the sleeve because he has had many patients who get pregnant after WLS. You do have to weight 18 months to try after surgery per my doctor, but I will wait if that is what it takes to have a baby!

Hello! I know the feeling! I have been to the doctor's office more the past month than I have in the past year. I have completed everything minus my 1st support group meeting. The psych evaluation for me was lengthy, but very informatative. I have to take several written test (about 2 and half hours worth), and then they review all the test. Lastly I went in and saw the doctor for about 45 minutes. She talked all about the surgery, how my life would be very different, and answered a ton of my questions. Be glad you do not have to have a sleep evaluation....it seems like a never ending process! Good luck to you. My doctor's office is suppose to submit my paperwork this week!

Good morning all! I have completed all my doctors appointments, and my surgery coordinator will be submitting my paperwork to insurance this week. How long did it take to get your approval, and how long after approval did you have to wait for surgery! I am a bit nervous! I have BCBS of Rhode Island.
