  1. Well I'm officially banded and officially a wreck. I am in soo much gas pain! I've walked drunk Water used gas strips but nothing seems to help. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

2-3 days were the worst for me walking, gas-x, pain meds and heating pad a must... Today not so bad...this to shall pass

  2. After failing so many times in the past I think it would be impossiable for my mind not to go there. I have always had success losing but my appetite would get the better of me seemed like it was always all or nothing, I pray this will help me find the middle ground... That being said I am 3 days post op and hopeful I probably for the 1st time in my life losing and not hungry. Good luck to you!!

  3. Diet and exercise are crucial for weight loss by any means' date=' surgical or not.

After a lifetime of yo-yo dieting, I finally decided I needed to get out the big guns. I was sick of dieting to lose weight, only to gain it back again plus more, over and over and over. My band worked very well for me because it made Portion Control so much easier. So the weight loss was easier, and the weight loss made the exercise easier.

I had planned on having my band for the rest of my life but sadly, it didn't turn out that way, so I'm revising to the sleeve because almost 5 years into my weight loss surgery journey, I have learned one thing for absolute certain sure: I need a long-term tool for long-term weight maintenance. Bariatric surgery is the tool for me.[/quote']

What happened after 5 years that u need to ditch the band and go to sleeve ( hope u don't mind me asking) I was just banned yesterday and plan to work this tool the rest of my life

  4. I was "banded" the 30th June and everyone in the June forum is going on about a one month anniversary- so I figured I'd join the "Julypians"... Like Olympians... Get it?

Anyway- its been 5 days since surgery' date=' I'm from Perth, Western Australia. I had a good surgeon but am feeling what others seem to describe as "stuck" where food is just not going down so I am going from puréed foods back to liquids tomorrow.

I've already lost 3kg and recommend to anyone who is getting "the blues" like I did today to hop on the scales for some confirmation that you've made the right decision.

Anyway- I'm looking for some regular email contact with someone here who is sharing the same journey. I haven't told my friends about the surgery- just my parents. So an really lacking in support and encouragement.

Anyway- best of luck to everyone for your upcoming surgery and please let me know if you would be my buddy through this exciting and scary journey.
