  1. My bucket list..Go sky diving, run in the Spartan race with my sister, Get more tattoos (Can't now because there is too much fat/bulge where I want them), Like having my picture taken again, Change my hairstyle completely, Shop in the regular section at Forever 21 (and ever other store), Donate my entire wardrobe, Buy the skimpiest thing I can find at VS and feel comfortable wearing it for my boyfriend, Go out on the town with my best friends in a bangin outfit, Buy a pair of tall boots that fit, Marry my man in a form fitting pnina tornai gown! (I'm not even engaged yet..but this is all about dreams, right? haha)

  2. Ahh love all these things!!

    For me its simple:

    1. Sounds cliche, but I want to rock a bikini...nothing skimpy but it would be amazing to wear something that DOESN'T cover my entire torso!

    2. Look great in a Form fitting "little black dress" with an amazing new pair of high heels.

    3. To be able to one day get rid of my Spanx!

    4. Lastly, I want to train for a sports event, not sure which kind but something that would require serious physical training. (My original plan was to join the army, but apparently once you have weight loss surgery, its an automatic disqualification - Boo!)

    Love all of yours!! :D

  3. Hiii! I'm enrolled in the Tufts "I can change program". I am very excited and nervous also! I've been in the program for a month, I finish up January 5th. Next week is my 3rd phone call. It's just a series of phone calls. The 6 Months officially starts at the date of the first phone call. I've been pretty lucky, the lady I've been assigned to is awesome, we hit it off right away. I was having similar reservations about telling my friends about the surgery. I actually made a post on here and got a ton of great feedback from members. So far I've told my parents, my 3 sisters, my boyfriend and my best friend. I haven't told any of my other friends about it. I'm only 25 and just worried it'll get around my town really quick. I think I'll tell them once I'm a few months post op and have started shedding some weight. Maybe you should bring your husband to a WLS so he'll know more about the surgery? Its very invasive and maybe if he hears that it'll make him feel more comfortable? That's what I did with my parents and my older sister.

Good luck with your first consult!! :D

  4. I mentioned the lapband to my old PCP about 3 years ago, and she dismissed it right away saying it was a terrible idea, very dangerous and would never agree to me having it. I was so discouraged, I thought it was a great idea for myself. I ended up switching to a new PCP a year ago after getting terrible care there and being misdiagnosed often. My new PCP gave me a big hug when I asked her what she thought about the surgery, and signed my papers for my insurance company. Hopefully I'll be banded in the next few months! :D

    Good luck!! :D

  5. I'm 25..and have been overweight almost my entire life. I'm 5'7" 265 which is my highest weight I've been. I've always been the "fat friend" and the "one with the pretty face". I can't wait to see what its like the live as the other half. I have back problems, asthma, high blood pressure..etc. I just finished my first month of Tufts 6 Month "can change" program, and hopefully will be banded within a month of finishing it. :D I've only told my immediate family, boyfriend and best friend..all of them have been very supportive!

My Dad is also doing it with me..I'm more excited for him than me!

  6. I was just wondering if you told your family/friends about the surgery or kept it a secret? I've been struggling with this decision. So far I've told my immediate family, boyfriend and best friend, and they were all very supporitve as I had anticipated. But I'm not sure if I should tell my other good friends or family.

    Thoughts? Advive? All is appreciated!

  7. Hi everyone! My name is Samantha. I've been creeping on the forum for a month or so and figured it's probably time for me to sign up! I'm currently enrolled in the "Can Change" program with Tufts and have had 2 phone calls with me rep so far. As of now I should be graduating the program January 5th and hopefully having the surgery soon after. I haven't decided on a surgeron yet, I'm going to another information session at Brigham & Womens Hospital on August 1st, and hopefully will have my surgeron picked out after. My father is also enrolled in the program with me, we're planning on having our surgeries close together to help support eachother. I'm so excited I could just burst! :D I'm so proud of my Dad too, he was very rulectantt at first to have any sort of procedure (due to fear), but after an information session he's finally decided to have the lap band done. My Mom and sister are curretnly talking to their PC to see if they quality for it also.

I just wanted to introduce myself and say hiiiii to everyone!
