  1. So a P.A. calls me this morning to tell me that my blood is low. She asks me if I've ever had Anemia. I have had issues with this over the years due to irregular cycles. Which were caused by PCOS; the PCOS is one of the factors of me gaining & having a hard time losing weight.....which is why I was having the Lapband in the first place. Catch 22 definitely. UGH!! So frustrating. I guess its time for the Iron supplements again.....I refuse to allow this bump in the road stop or deter my October surgery date.
  2. So glad to hear everything went well!!! Congrats & much success to you on your journey
  3. Wow....Anyway, its ok to be nervous. It's a natural reaction. Just explain your concerns before they start & you'll be fine.
  4. Hi, I haven't had my surgery yet; but I will tell you something I've learned after watching my mom & myself dealing with medical people for a countless number of years....only YOU can control how they treat you. I have hidden veins myself & before I have blood drawn I let the person know this in advance. By the time I'm done saying this, they know I am not their personal pin cushion & I will not tolerate that kind of treatment. Be firm....their job is to take care of you; make them do it well! Don't worry about tomorrow. You'll be fine.
  5. Hey, I'm Simone from Texas. I'm a 42yr old, divorced female; no kids yet. I hope everyone finds what they are looking for in a mate. Good luck to all!
  6. Believe me, this is definitely a testimony! Thanks for the encouragement because this all new(& a little bit scary too) for me. Congratulations & keep us posted!
  7. You look fantastic! Congrats!
  8. Congratulations! I am thrilled for you; September will be here before you know it. I am scheduled for October 2012; so I'm right behind you. I wish all the luck & success in the worl on your journey.
  9. I had my 2nd required appointment today! Everything is going great, thank God! My breathing test & nutritional requirement is done! Just need two more appointments & then my surgery date can be scheduled; sometime in October....
  10. I won't miss having to put my stomach on the counter to get the pressure/pain off my off back. Won't miss my knees, feet and back hurting. Not taking pictures because I am not happy with how I look in them. Won't miss having to wear clothes to hide my shape & rolls that aren't flattering. But, most importantly, I won't miss having health issues due to my weight like my Dad!

  12. Reading all of these replies has really made relive some very painful & memories from my past. I expected(as sad as that is) to have to deal with strangers regarding my weight. However, the incident that happened with my Dad years ago, is the one that still bothers me to this day. This was back around 1986 or 87(telling my age, I know). It was a popular fad for kids to wear leg warmers on the outside of your pants. My step-sister & I were sitting outside on our front stairs. My Dad walks up & stops to look at both of us and decides to tell me that I should take mine off because they don't look right. That my legs are too big and they don't fit me like hers did....I was embarrassed, but, more than anything I was hurt. This may seem small to some people, but, to a 16yr old; this was life altering. He always tried to compare us but we a two different body types...I'm 5'11" with a large frame and she has always been petite....5'4". He also made me exercise every night before I went to bed. No one else; just me. Very humiliating!
  13. Congratulations! Your story is so inspirational for a newbie like me. That is a fantastic accomplishment!
  14. After reading these replies, I am starting to get a little nervous. I am using TrueResults here in San Antonio. I've only had one appointment so far and so we will see how it goes. I will be extremely cautious with their billing practices in the future.
  15. Happy Birthday!!! Congrats on this new chapter in your life. I am scheduled to have my Lapband placed in October; also here in San Antonio @Turning Point. I hope everything continues to go well for you. Keep us updated!
