  1. Hi All,

I am getting so bored with lunch and really need some new inspiration. I am fairly tight in the morning and don't eat much if anything. So by 1:00 or so I am getting hungry, but am having such a hard time coming up with new quick, easy and healthy lunches. I'd love to hear what others are having for lunch.

    Thanks!

  2. Same thing happened to me. Ended up in the ER. It sucked. I got my fill taken out and I feel SO much better!! Even a little can make a big difference.

Its just so strange. I had the fill on Dec. 5th and was doing fine. Then in the last few days I am so tight I can't take it. Its been way over a month and just started having a problem. How long from the time you got your fill and had to go to ER?

  3. It can take awhile for a fill to settle. Hopefully, a small unfill will do the trick! Make sure to address all your concerns with your doctor! Take care!

PS...I just noticed we have the same surgeon :)

I had the fill on Dec. 5th, so its been awhile. Of course, I worry about a bigger problem like a band slip. I have had many fills and never had heartburn like this. Hopefully get some answers tomorrow. But I will worry all day today. That is awesome we have the same surgeon!!

  4. I am having a bit of a rough time and need some input. I had an adjustment to my band in December. Doctor added a .25cc. Everything seemed fine for a few weeks. However, over the past week or so my band seems soooo tight. I am having trouble eating all foods and I have horrible heartburn. So much that I can't sleep. I have been taking antacids, but that doesn't help much. Tomorrow I am going back in for a small unfill. My question is....why did my adjustment start out fine and then eventually get so much tighter? Has anyone else had trouble with this? Is this normal/abnormal? Could it be an indication of a bigger problem?

Thanks so much for your input!!

  6. So.....I am at a waterpark with my kids and for the first time in my adult life I can fit inside the intertubes and enjoy the rides. I have never been able to squeeze my boobs in them before. This is a huge deal for me and I am having a great time!!!

  7. At one time or another I have read on this site about a gland in your body that is affected by the band. I think I read that pressure on this gland sends signals to your brain about being full. I was trying to explain this to someone, but can't remember what this gland is called or where I read it or pretty much anything. Can someone answer this question for me. I want to find more information about this. Thanks...you all are so great!!!

  8. 1500-1700 cals seems like a lot for someone on this journey. i agree that you should reduce those and see where it gets you.

also, try and switch one meal for a liquid meal (Protein shake, diluted fruit juice, broth soup) or something. that may help.

try not to eat after 8pm maybe? if you go to bed early, try not to eat after 7pm?

I am suppose to be around 1200 calories, but I have been so hungry that I increased it to 1500 to try and keep the hunger away. And I am working out so much that I thought I might need a few more calories. I see my nut. tomorrow so I can talk to her about this more. Hopefully with a fill tomorrow I won't be so hungry and can go back to 1000-1200 per day. I was losing more then. Its just so discouraging to be this hungry, working out more than I ever have and see no progress the last month!

  9. Breaking out of a plateau sometimes requires changing something. I know that more than 1200 calories a day would stop me losing weight and those calories had to be good calories, its not just about counting them its about how they are made up, try reducing them by around 200 a day and see if that makes a difference, also change up the exercise, if u are only doing cardio then do some strength training and vice versa, change things till u get results then stick to it. Good luck

  10. Hello!

First I'd like to hear your advice on fighting head hunger. This seems to be a big problem. I am not in the green zone yet and sometimes I am actually hungry and sometimes I am not. Either way I feel like I need to be eating. I get another fill tomorrow, so hopefully that will help with the actual hunger.

Second, what are you tips and advice for breaking out of a plateau? I joined the fitness center a month ago and work out 5 or 6 days a week. I have not lost one pound since joining. So very frustrating. I am eating around 1500-1700 calories per day and getting in all my Protein and Water. This plateau is getting long and starting to be very discouraging! My clothes are fitting better and I do notice changes, but the scale does not reflect any of the hard work!

    Thanks!!!

  11. Never felt full......just "Not Hungry", and cannot, do not want, to continue.....lack of interest in eating......

The band sends a signal to my brain that I am full, and I do not need to eat . Even though I am not full, nor feel full., and may not have eaten in hours.......it is just my brain getting the signal from the band....

Many people say they feel, full, some satisfied, many also say it only lasts between meals.....

For me, it is 24/7.....the band is there 24/7, sending the signal to my brain 24/7, so I am not hungry, or at least my brain feels there is no need to eat, 24/7.....

Sounds like I'm rambling, but there is no other way to explain it.....

Ever stand staring into the fridge for. What seems forever, looking at all that food but can't find anything you want to eat? Well it is something like that for me.......

I wandred around the grocery store the other day and could not decide on anything.....

I sure hope I can get to the green zone like you are. I had my first fill and then a little un-fill today. Its complicated getting to that zone you want to be in. One thing that I can tell for sure is that I crave nothing now! And I have not once eaten to the point I feel full.

  12. When you are in the green zone, do you feel ever feel full on your meal? Assuming you eat around 1 cup of food, does this give you a full feeling, a satisfied feeling or just nothing? Do you just eat the amount you are suppose to no matter how you are feeling? What if you eat too much, how are you feeling then? Do you get stuck when you eat too much or just feel bad? Thanks for your input, just trying to get a sense of things!

  13. I had my first fill last Thursday, 4cc's into my 10cc band. This is going ok. I can eat fine as long as I am chewing and going slowly. I have had a few episodes of not doing this well enough. Sometimes I feel satisfied with about 1 cup of food, sometimes I feel I need more. I usually get 3-4 hours of feeling like I am not hungry. This afternoon after eating lunch about 1.5 cups of chicken chili and Beans, I still felt hungry. This suggests to me that I need more fill. However, I am burping so much. Even after the first bite, there is a lot of burping. I emailed my doctors office and my physician feels that due to the excessive burping I am overfilled and should have some Fluid removed. I am sure that the burping is not due to eating too fast. I have tested this several times. I am just not sure about the un-fill. I am not sure about any of this right now, its all confusing. Sometimes I feel like I ate enough, sometimes I don't. I know that I am probably not in the green zone after the first fill, but if I am overfilled then....well I don't know what then. Any input about this is appreciated!

  14. I am in the same boat. I was banded on 1/18 and lost 14lbs the first two week and then about 6 after that. Then the past 4 weeks...nothing. My doctor told me this was totally normal and I should not be discouraged. I joined the fitness center last week and got my first fill on Thursday and finally saw the scale move this morning!

  15. I had my first fill this past Thursday. I have 4cc's in my 10cc band. I am feeling much different than I did before the fill. I am taking care to chew and eat slowly. I made the mistake of not doing it...will not do that again! Anyway, after each bite I feel like I have to burp a lot! I have to take big breaks in between bites to burp. Is this typical? Am I too tight or eating too fast?

  16. Got my first fill yesterday. Had 4cc's added to my 10cc band. It was super quick, easy and painless. I am on liquids until Saturday. I am not sure I feel any different today or not. I brought a Protein Shake to work and have been sipping on it all morning. I do feel some twinge of hunger, but nearly as much as I would have before the fill. I hope I get a better idea of how this newly filled band is working once I am back on solid foods.
