  1. I'm so glad you asked this! I'm up in Shreveport and scheduled to have surgery next Monday. I've almost been mourning not being able to eat crawfish again this season and now I see that I may get to eat them again this year after all!! I'll take only eating a few just as long as I get to eat them again :) Good luck in your recovery! I can't wait to be there with you!

Good luck to you too!! You know seafood is our heritage.

  2. Who did your surgery? Did your dr tell you to take Prilosec or another acid reducer? The cravings are probably head hunger' date=' but I am in no way an expert. I'm 20 days post op and I've had no cravings and I haven't been hungry at all. I get lots of tummy gurgles but the dr told me its stomach acid and its my new stomach waking up and getting feelings back after being cut. He prescribed Prilosec

My problems right now aren't being hungry (thank goodness) it's not being able to drink enough fluids or eat enough to maintain my Protein requirements.

The Protein drinks make me so full and bloated & gross feeling, after an ounce or two that I can't even sip Water or eat ice chips for several hours afterwards.[/quote']

Dr. Lavin in Metairie, i have Prolisec and I will try it. Thanks

  3. I'm new' date=' I was sleeved on Mar 11th,came home on the 14th. I am on purees. Doing OK haven't taken pain meds since yesterday. I'm actually worried or confused maybe that I seem to be easily able to drink and eat. I am not experiencing the 'three bites and full' that you hear about. I'm down 19 from my highest (12 since surgery day)[/quote']

What kind of purees are you on?? Im still on liquids... :( torcher!

  4. Yep' date=' this is the part that really sucks! There is a period where some of us were really hungry due to ghrelin still in our systems.....It will past, you will do just fine, drink some more Soup if you need to or better yet, some Protein shake will help.....You may have acid in your stomach so it might be advisable to take a PPI (nexium, omeprazole, prilosec, tums, etc.) with your surgeons approval of course. :) [/quote']

I just cheated and had greek yogurt!! I couldn't take it anymore.
