Down 80 Pounds As Of Today! (Photo)
My weight loss really slowed down in September, but picked up this month. I dropped five pounds in the past week! For those of you slowing down or on a plateau, it does pick up. I found that getting in my walks and doing some bike riding (and not really that intense) really helped get the pounds moving again. I'm feeling great and enjoying life so much more. To all the newbies and pre-op folks: it's not all Love and Light all the time, but, for me, it's been worth the journey. Much success and happiness to you!

Funeral For Hair?
I'm three months post-op and have just noticed a dime-sized bald spot just above my right ear. I keep my hair really short so it's pretty noticeable. Someone just told me about Nioxin shampoo and vitamins, which is supposed to help.

New Addictions?
I've been chewing my nails AND FINGERS down to nubs! I'm also ripping skin off my thumbs. It's terrible and incredibly painful, but I don't even realize I'm doing it until I'm bleeding. I've always been a nail biter, but it's much worse since surgery. Gum chewing could help, but we're not supposed to chew gum. Ideas?

Just A Week Out And Starting To Get Really Down
Like everyone is saying, it does get better. Please remember that you just had major surgery on your stomach and it's still sore and probably pretty swollen/inflamed. As you heal, you'll be able to eat a bit more. Good luck to you...you're going to love your new life!

Roller Coasters Are Officially Back In My Life!
Went to Knott's berry Farm last night and was able to get on all of the coasters! Admittedly, a couple of the belts were tight, but I could have never done this six months ago! This is a huge milestone of many and many more to come. I know I sound like a cliché infomercial, but the sleeve is the best thing that's ever happened to me. C'est bon la vie!

My Gray Hair Is Turning Black Again! Anyone Experience This?
I noticed this the other day and thought I was imagining things, but a few days later I was looking through some of my before photos and was shocked at how much more gray hair I had six months ago. I've read a few things online about how people who stopped smoking, drinking, or changed their diet have experienced this. Someone also attributed it to taking vitamins, which I have been diligent about. Just curious to see if anyone else has noticed this.

Pre-Op - Surgery Date 10/26
I'm sure you've read this all over this site: Having the sleeve done was one of the best choices of my life. The physical and emotional transformation in just under three months has been phenomenal for me and the best is yet to come! Stick with it, talk to people here, join a support group, do your research/homework, prep your cupboards for post-op, and you'll be doing the happy dance before you know it! All the best to you!

For me it was my face a shoulders first. My belly and chest are becoming less rotund, and starting to sag...saggy man boobs! Not pretty, but neither are man boobs PERIOD, for that matter! LOL Time to hit the gym!
