  1. I know they are covered just wondering if I need a referral
  2. Yes what you are experiencing happened to me too then I went into "bandster hell" where I do not feel as much restriction as I feel is needed and started to feel hungry. That is when will power must take over. Now I cannot weight to get a fill. It i had real strong willpower I would not have needed the band. Hang in there and enjoy the restriction now.
  3. Yes, I will eat a tablespoon of peanut butter as a snack and that is good.
  4. To me it sounds like you should have waited. During the psych evaluation it was important to identify that circle of support. It sounds like either you did not do that or did not have a psych evaluation which is troubling. Anyway, it sounds like you need to make done hard decisions and but out those who are not supportive. You need a positive frame of mind to get through this because this is a major journey in your life and from what I can see, can be life altering.
  5. Have your fridge stocked with clear liquid drinks and jello. Also plenty of pillows for positioning.
  6. That is good the advice you have given. My weight fluctuates since I was banded on September 24 but when try on clothing I can see the inches have dropped although I fear gaining weight I am going to take the advice of those with more experience and take this time to heal.

    Working Out...

I was told to walk as well. I did try riding the stationary bike and felt a slight pull so I am not pushing it. I do walk a mile several times a week and today went on a college tour so had to do quite a bit of walking but it was fine.

You look great! How much weight have you lose?

    Fill :)

Was your first fill done in the doctor's office or in radiology? I am nervous because my doctor stated my port was deep and had to be done in radiology.

    In Need Of Advice

If you are taking any narcotic pain medications, that will constipate you. Please make sure to drink your fluids and walk. You can probably ask your surgeon for Miralax, which can be added to water or juice.
  11. MissE I agree with you. I was never advised of this period but without this site I would have given up too. To know that it was not me but something we all go through and others understand had helped me. Hang in there! We will both make it through and reach our goals.

    Awkward Question

Yes contact your doctor. The continued loss of fluids could lead to dehydration.
  13. Congrats on the banding. Welcome to our world.
  14. You all are doing fine. It was a slow start for me but now I am up and about and slowly getting my strength back. I am entering week 3 and feel so much better. Still achy but doing fine. Hang in there. It does get better.

    Just Curious..

Wow, 80 pounds! That is encouraging. I am 3 weeks post op and having a hard time with weight loss. Lost 21 pounds initially but also felt horrible, I may have gained 3-4 lbs but continue to watch what I eat, started walking daily, etc. My surgeon wanted to see me loss 5 lbs by my next visit but I am nervous I may not reach that goal.

    Confused And Fustrated

Someone at another question suggested this app called Lose It! It allows you to track your calories and exercise. The tracking does allow you to see things straight out and look at your calories. I love this. Try that for a little while and see if that helps. I feel your pain because I did not expect this either ( the feeling of bandlessness) but I am going to work through and pray for my fills. I know the band can work.
  17. You and I are in the exact same place. Today is 2 weeks for me as we'll and I was shocked when I had hunger pains and was even scared. I stick to the smaller meals, no breads, just liquids and today starts soft goods. We have to just hang in. Good luck,
  18. My doctor says because of the depth of my port he will probably be doing the fills in radiology so as to aid in visualization. Has anyone had this done?
  19. So I can go to work after it is done? Anyone had any problems?
  20. That is interesting. Why are they making you lose weight? If we could do that, we would not have gone through with getting this "tool" inserted to aid us in losing weight.
  21. Thank you all so much. I have battled weight for years and know I can get through this. Again, I just did not realize this little glitch of getting to the green zone. My eating has cut down a great deal so now to get back to work with exercising. I am so glad I have this site as the support is amazing.
  22. Would you have still gotten the lap band or would you have gotten the sleeve?
  23. That is so encouraging. I am going to fight through this hunger. I just did not realize that the feelings of fullness would wear off. I have come too far to let this go.
  24. Thanks for the kind advice all. I did not view it as a miracle but if it could not help me I would not have gotten it. I am willing to do the work but do expect the assistance of the band.

    I Just Dont Know

I congratulate you on taking the plunge but as others have stated it is very easy to to become dehydrated. I did and there are so many effects to the body. Also, this stage will pass and you will feel better. This is week 3 for me and I feel do much better. I am still sore but am now outside walking. Glad I took 3 weeks off though.
