  1. I love the hydro flask. I am a couple days post op and it is great to keep my drink cold as it takes so long to drink. They come in different sizes, colors and you can choose your top based on your needs. It will hold ice over night.
  2. I am with you on the nausea. I am on Zofran and my surgeon just called me in finegrin (sp?). They make me sleepy, but without them I can't get in my liquids. Even the smell of foods make me feel sickly. I hope you can find something that will help you oiut.
  3. I made it to the looser bench! My surgery was Sept 30 and I am doing pretty well. I didn't have any issues with pain or gas, and have not used my pain meds. I am struggling with nausea and that is really working against my liquid goals. I am in good spirits and pressing on. I am only able to get down about 24 Oz of fluids on day 1 and trying to bet that today. How much could you guys get down by day 2 post-op?
  4. You are all looking great! Congrats to each of you. You really help keep us newbies motivated!
  5. Good luck Des! I am scheduled in the morning and I am so ready. I have to agree on the liquid diet. After the first two days (terrible headaches included) I found my rythm. I have already grown tired of sweet protein drinks and found I enjoy beef or bullion soup with unflavored protein. Did you notice that after you pushed past your normal meal times, the hunger kinda went away until the next meal time? This was so strange to me. I will take this knowledge forward for sure. Good luck on your journey!
  6. @@LoseItKacy I am tomorrow too! Good luck to you. I have lost 8 lbs on my liquid diet and I am thrilled. I am having my final cup of chicken bullion soup with unflavored protein for the night. See you on the other side!
  7. Well, tomorrow is my big day. I can't wait to join you all on the other side. I am so proud of myself on the liquid diet. I have lost 8 pounds and I am ready for the next step.
  8. Me too! 5:45 AM for me. Good luck!
  9. Do you use bonless chicken?
  10. I am using the Syntrax unflavored and it doesn't seem to have a taste to me. @@jennolsen - have you had your surgery or on the pre-op diet? @@LoseItKacy - I am on my pre-op diet as well. Hope things are going well for you both
  11. If you like Pork Loin it is really great in the crock pot. Pour 1/4 cup of Water in bottom of crock; Slice one onion or cover bottom of the crockpot, place the loin that has been sprinkled with meat tenderizer in and cover with more sliced onions. Add Dale's sauce to taste (1/4 C for a large loin). Cook on Hi for 1 hour then reduce to low for 6 hours. It will just fall apart when touched with a fork and is very, very moist. Enjoy!
  12. I considered eating with reckless abandon for the week leading up to surgery. It never happened. Hubby offered to take me out anywhere I wanted this weekend, but we went antiquing instead. Today I went to lunch with a friend and I enjoyed the same fajita burrito I always get, with the same indigestion. It was delicious, and while I was glad I went, I was thinking how happy I am that I will have the restriction to not stuff myself any more. I do have to say that knowing that I start my liquid diet tomorrow made my coffee taste so much better this morning.
  13. Glad to hear you are doing well. Hope the pain ends soon...
  14. Our surgery is on the same day! Good luck! We are finally getting closer.
  15. I am so excited for everyone and thei progress so far. I will be the caboose at September 30th.
  16. You look amazing! Great progress. I can't wait to get started.
  17. What a victory! Congratulations!
  18. @@BLERDgirl - by chance do you use the D3 by Natures made? I am pre op and I am looking into the chewable for just after surgery. @@jacks89 - Both my daughter and I take the B12 sublingual cherry flavor and it is not bad at all.
  19. I am still pre op, but I have the Syntrax unflavored Protein and it is not too bad. I dissolved it in Water then poured into my soup/broth after it was heated. I really couldn't taste it. I hope I can still tolerate it after surgery.
  20. I am taking off 2 weeks. But, I am planning to rest a full 5 days then work from home if I am doing well the following week. Of course life is what happens when you are making other plans, so we shall see.
