  1. I have my post op appointment this morning at 8 am. I'll be glad once I talk to the surgeon and get more of an idea on what to expect with this port. it's weird throughout the day it feels like the port is more hidden but on the morning it s more pronounced feels like it's protruding.
  2. Its HUGE adjustment the surgery fixes our stomach but not our mind. I'm not prefect but I try my best everyday. There are days where I'm not hungry at all and then there are days that I'm starving. Try to stay away from high calorie high fat food foods. I still have my reg coffee with either skim milk or reg cream, or a slice of pizza that I chew very well no crust. Its all about choices and how bad you want to lose this weight once and for all. My dr said he would give me a fill at 3 weeks if I want and I'm not losing.however I'm still listing down a total 24 lbs. I'm pleased with that and still have approx 53lbs to go
  3. My appointment went very well I lost 6 pounds that wk making my total weightloss 15 lbs.dr was very happy with my progress and said as long as I continue to lose there is no need for a fill right now. I go back on 10/9 for another checkup and possibly a fill.

How Much Did U Lose First Week?

I weigh myself once a week first wk lost 6 lbs. I was banded on 9/11 and I'll weigh myself tomorrow.
  5. I was banded on sept 11 and I'm having a hard time already emotionally. I didn't expect to feel this way. I didn't realize how much of a food addict I was/am until I got banded. Whenever Im stressed, upset, happy etc needless to say I'm am an emotional eater far more then I thought. Because I'm only able to eat full liquids I don't feel satisfied.I'm not hungry but being banded has caused me to have to deal with my emotions instead of stuffing them down. So needless to say I've done a lot of crying over the last wk. I was considering counseling to help coup with my new body once that happens but thinking I may need it now to address other ways to help me deal with my feeling since I can't eat them away anymore Has anyone else experienced this? And how did you handle it. This has completely caught me off guard. I know they fixed my stomach and not my mind and how I've associated with food for years.
  6. This post has caused me to think about making my band/new pouch.. Since it is my new best friend... Introducing LOLA.

    Sept 12Th Surgery

That is a great weightloss. I was banded on sept 11th. I'm on full liquids but at my post op they said I could do refried beans with cheese and low fat sour cream. And mashed potatoes. I did have a luncheon turkey sandwich but I don't think that was a good idea just because I can do it doesn't mean I should. so today I was back to my normal diet jello, soup, beans blended and pudding. I can have my first fill on 3 weeks post op. I find that I can eat more in one sitting but I don't I pre measure everything to keep myself from over eating. My advice is follow your dr orders and know soft foods will come soon. This too shall pass. Hang in there
  8. I had my first post op apt today and it went very well to date I've lost 15 lbs. Dr was very pleased with my weightloss so far. I need to focus on getting my protein in. I go back in 4 weeks

  10. I'm suppose to return back to work on 9/18 1 wk post op but I think I need another week to recoup. I'm still on pain meds 1-2 times a day plus I still haven't had my first bm and prefer to have that at home. I have my first post op appointment on wednesday. I'll call my dr to set if she will extend out one more week. I'm curious to know when everyone returned back to work after surgery.

    Crabby

Do any of you get crabby throughout the day due to lack of food? Around 1:30 or so I get extremely irritable it seems like anything will set me off until I get something in my stomach like soup or yogurt.I feel so depressed that I'm only able to eat liquids while everyone on the house is eating fried chicken, italian sausage etc. I guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself. Also adjusting to this new life style.

    Where Is Your Port?

Mine is under my left breast

    Port Incision

I m not sure of that is normal but I would call your dr to make sure. I was banded 6 days ago and its tender where my port is but I can't say it burns.
  19. Yes I had it bad.... I didn't do anything but ignore the itch and have out a gentle rub
  20. I'm was a huge coffee drinker with reg flavored creamer. Since being banded I've switched to decaf but haven't had much coffee I miss it but I don't feel like I enjoy it as much as I use to. I've tried to drink out with sf creamer but it's not the same. Are my diehard coffee drinkers drinking something else that is just as satisfying? do you allow yourself your reg coffee with your reg cream?

    Near Mchenry Illinois

I'm in woodstock and just had my surgery on 9/11. Im feeling much better now but it was a harder post op then I thought. I was in a lot of pain from the surgery and gas for 4 days.I'm not as soar and am able to move around much better.
  22. I was banded on 9/11. Was at the hospital at 8:45 for a10:45 am surgery.I had my iv placed and a shot in my stomach to thin my blood. I was brought back to or around 11:45 and the next thing I remember is waking up in recovery in a lot of pain feeling like I couldn't breathe and throwing up. Once that subsided I was brought back to my room had an upper gI and dressed and walked around. I was released around 5. Once home I was very tired and in pain took some meds and slept the test of the day.I had alot of pain in my back neck and shoulder. I'm 5 days post op and still have pain from surgery and gas. I am still waiting to have a bm. I'm sure it will be a game changer if I could poop.
