  1. Hello All I was banded 8/27/2012. I have lost a total of 33 lbs, and now find myself 6 weeks pregnant. I have wanted to get pregnant just did not expect it this soon, I've already lost 4 during pregnancy, I am making sure I am eating, but want to do it right. Now I know I'm pregnant it seems like food goes down easier. I haven't had a chance to contact my nutritionist but thought I would ask those here with experience. I was given a 6 month supply of protein shakes from my doctor. They are high calorie high protein no sugar protein shakes. They are okay on my stomach as long as they are cold. If I drank these twice a day with one healthy meal and a snack would that be okay? What was your experience? did anyone continue to loose during pregnancy?
  2. @honk, sorry you must have missed the part where I wrote my surgeon prescribed me a 6 month supply of protein shakes. I'm obviously going to talk to my ob and surgeon, I was just trying to get advised from those who have become pregnant after being banded.
  3. Hey LBT! I am a pre op bandster/artist. Currently i am in need of some work clothes since all my $$ is going towards surgery and making sure I have all my food and gym membership. I am an artist and I am willing to create something, or trade for something I currently have for work clothes. I am currently in size 18-20 pants/dress, and XL-XXL top size 9 (Wide) or 9.5 shoes size. I should mention I am 5'3" as well so if you are super tall pants might not work on me. If you are interested in seeing my artwork you can find me on Face Book at /CassandraDouglas.art.beyond.reason
  4. So today I was feeling pretty good and decided, okay maybe I can try to lay on my stomach. Not the best idea. UGH. It HUUUUUUUUURT. I had to call for DH to help me, I felt like a turtle stuck on it's back, I finally got up and have some soreness at my port site now. I am icing it, I hope I didn't cause any damage. How long before you were able to sleep on your stomach again? Also just wanted to let you know I have been extremely hungry today it is terrible, I wish I could exercise but I am not cleared from the doctor yet.

    Sex Drive

My surgeon said I can have sex right away, just not Olympic, so basically that means no sex for a while

    To All You Stomach Sleepers.

I'll have to try it, getting down wasn't hard, it was the getting up part. I was more afraid of tearing the internal stitches where my port is than anything.

  10. After two weeks liquid diet, surgery on Tuesday and a couple of days not being able to eat at all.... Today is the start of my pureed diet. I had 1/2 cup yogurt at breakfast. And lunch I had 2oz tuna and 2oz. Mixed veggies pureed. All I can say is canned tuna never tasted so good. I'm glad I can keep food down. Dr did fill me a little at the time of surgery so it does take about an half hour to 45 minutes to eat. The wait has been worth it. Also I got really sleepy after eating, anyone else experience this?

What an amazing accomplishment, keep up the good work.

I was bandee yesterday and let me tell you I'm in so much pain. The surgeon told my husband it took longer than expected, but DH did not ask why. I am in so much pain where the port is I think. Also to add insult to injury I gained 5lbs. So far I am not hungry at all, and I've been sipping water, and I'm in the most pain I've ever been in..

Oh man, I just had some gas x. I feel 100x better way easier to.breathe. I tried walking around the house, then the block and nothing worked, until the gas x. I wish I had gotten it sooner

I kinda figured it would be silly lol. The meds do help take the edge off. I think I can remember the Dr saying he had.to reapair a hernia, but I was so dopped up I could have imagined it. I will call in a couple hours. Thank you all for the.well wishes. I think I went into this thinking my pain.threshold was higher. I am extremely happy I did it. Side question. Did anyone else find it hard to eat after, I'm not hungry at all
  16. sassycass830

Yes I do have meds and yea I have taken them. Still hurts :/

  18. Tomorrow is the day! My surgery is at 2:15pm PST if all goes well. I have done great with the clear liquid diet the past two days, the pre op diet, I did have a few tiny little bumps, I hope that doesn't effect me with getting the surgery. I have lost a total of 15 lbs pre op. I cleaned out my closet and got rid of those close that are, ya know, easy to grow into, and found some jeans that are adorable and tiny. i'm so excited to be able to get into them soon. wish me luck. See you on the other side. xoxo. Cass

I have a similar problem. My husband eats nothing but fast food 2-3 times a day. He doesn't have a weight problem, no cholesterol, no diabetes. He's a perfectly healthy (young) man. I hate him sometimes. I have been starving myself on this 100% liquid diet for the past two weeks and full Clear liquids for the past two days. The only thing I can say is be an example. Why cook two meals? Make something healthy for your family too, it'll eliminate temptation for you and, if they don't eat it they can fend for themselves. I am making no plans to cook anything special for my husband, if he wants something different, he can take his wallet and his car to go get it, or make it himself. Think this is YOUR health, not your husbands, not your kid's, not your sisters, not your mothers. They might not like you now, but when you are healthier and alive longer i'm sure they will see your intentions (or mine in this case)
  21. You are lucky. I had to do two weeks pre op full liquids. and 48 hours pre op full Clear Liquids. bleh, I think i had a total of 500 calories between yesterday and today. But surgery is in about 16 hours and I've lost 15 lbs, so i'd say in the end it has been worth it
  22. I'm getting excited. this clear liquid diet is no joke though. lol I will let you know how everything goes.
  23. Congrats, I am not in your area, but I am willing to be a friend. I will be banded Tuesday
