  1. Too funny, wait until you depend on the dryer to provide clothes. I got to the point where I was line drying everything since clothes kept getting tighter and tighter, and then I had to start drying things (after surgery of course ) to keep things fitting and now the dryer doesn't even help. I went through 3 pairs of pants and a belt this morning and all were way too big, happy dance time .

I know, isn't it weird, I'm nothing like I was before the band. The cravings went away and I just don't want that crap anymore.
  3. Thank you! I tried to make protein popsicles with pudding and protein powder and they did not work out too well
  4. Great post and perspective, a good way to stay motivated . I've been gradually getting more motivated with exercise and just got an HRM to help me with this so my workouts (cardio) count. Still struggling to get myself to do the strength, but I know I need to.

There are only a few fast food items I will eat now, Arby's roast beef (no bun), Wendy's small chili, or pizza with super thin crust. Sometimes I don't have time and need to make a quick stop but I'm a lot smarter about it than before, no shake, extra large fry, and maybe even another desert to top it off like I would have done before. Sounds pretty yucky to me now, haha
  6. That is good news . Do you have to watch carbs at all? I think I would have a hard time uping calories and not going over my carbs. I guess I eat could more meat, but still

Thanks dylanmiles, we have some pretty good trollbusters on here . That same name popped up in some posts and they were on it like hawks in calling out the post and that they were a troll.
  8. Happy Birthday!!

Here's a virtual high five! I cleaned out my closet and dropped off a lot at Goodwill recently too and it was fun . I loved trying all of the clothes on the closet floor (always throw them there when they did not fit) and they all fit and most were too large, woohoo!

Thank you Cheryl, I'm at a stall right now and this helps put things back in perspective.

Are you by chance still wearing old clothes that don't show the loss? I know on days that I wear my old clothes (always kept them in hopes I would return one day, and I am woohoo ) that fit more snug, people actually notice, but with baggier clothes (really trying to hold out on buying clothes as I keep going down pretty steadily) no one says a thing. But it may help I work in an environment with a lot of nurses, doctors, and health minded people, so they encourage getting healthier, if that makes sense. Like LovetheNewMe said, they may be jealous or just not know how or what to say. I have one person who is always complementing me, but at the same time, says she is afraid that she does not want to offend me in the same conversation. Like people don't want to make you feel bad about what you used to look like I suppose is what she means.

Honestly it sounds like this lady dropped the ball and just gave up. If you think you are stretched and/or have not gone in for a fill for that long, then go to the doc and figure out how to resolve the issue(s), she may have just needed a fill. Maybe I'm more motivated since I was self paid, but if I have issues, you bet your a** I'm going back to the doc. And see, 4lbs down, you are well on your way! It's difficult in the beginning, we are learning a bunch of new habits all at once so it takes time, but you'll get the hang of it. And if you are not tracking, I suggest it, it's very helpful, myfitnesspal is awesome (and free), I'm 2012ALM if you want to be friends.

Do you wear the fitbit all day? Or just on and off?
  16. If it makes you feel better, my step mom had the same thing. She's had the lapband for 3 years (really skinny now and my inspiration to get this done too) and still has to take the BP meds. But hey you cut down on the pills drastically, still doing great!

Woohoo, I'm happy for you! We can celebrate together, I just finally got out of the 200's today. Yay, happy Sunday!
  18. Actually I just asked my nutritionist this last week because I use myfitnesspal to journal my food and found that some days I only get 5-600 calories, which worried me this is not enough. She said she was not worried about the 800 calorie days, but I needed to work on the below 800 calorie days. They (my nutritionists) really don't use calories in what I'm supposed to eat as they focus on protein and carbs, but I still see the calories and just think that is too low, even if I'm not hungry.

This is a good idea! I need to do this too and I'm totally with you on the high heels, airline seat, and stairs, I'm on the 4th floor and the steps are killers Actually an airline seat from Cincy to Texas (and back) is what pushed me over the threshold to get surgery in the first place. It was a horrible experience, most uncomfortable plane rides I ever had, I was pouring out over the seat, fortunately on the way back, I did not have to sit next to anyone and pour over into their seat .
  20. People that criticize others for stupid crap like spelling and grammar on a forum like this just need to get a life, period. A lot of these people use their phone and you know all of the messed up messages that come across because your "smart" phone used its own word.
  21. I second Firefox, it's working okay for me. I had some problems the past week logging in, but that seems to be working now too.
  22. Great job, now the hard part is over (well you know what I mean ). That gas pain can be a killer, walk around as much as you can, try a heating pad, and alot of people on here suggest gas-x strips. I did the walking and gas-x and it took about 6 days for the shoulder to stop, but it does lessen as the days go by, it will get better.
  23. Maybe try a heating pad? Since surgery (July 9th) I have had weird, random pains come out of nowhere that I was thinking something new was wrong with me every week and I'm not a hypochondriac , but I think I just needed to be patient and let myself heal. Now I feel normal again, it will get better.
  24. Where is your port located? Left or right side? If it's the left, it's probably the port area, they are attaching the port to muscle and it's going to be tender for some time. If it gets really bad, head to the ER though, better to be safe than sorry. I did not experience much pain in my port area, but I did experience soreness on my left side, opposite of the port placement, and they told me I pulled a muscle, It lasted for about 2 weeks and I'm happy to say it's gone, so I guess it was a pulled muscle.
