No and no! No pain! No nausea! Just a little bit of tightness on my first Water after the fill but I got over that quickly as you can read in http://www.lapbandtalk.com/second-intro-first-t32699.html?p=435844 so far so good

Banded on the 6th of March, in Perth Western Australia (Dr. Padovan) I just got my first fill today: 5 cc in a 9 cc band (Swedish) Glad I did since I had plateaued at 103 kgs since a week after my surgery. I was at 114 kgs a week before surgery. For you on the American/English system it's down from 250lbs down to 226 lbs. The good news on top of that is that my sugar levels have never been better: nothing above 7 (Don't know what it is in US measures but it's good) I was on insulin and diabetes meds before the surgery and now on no meds and no insulin and my sugar levels are perfect. I forget that I just had a fill but I am reminded quickly ( a la Clockwork Orange) when I drink too fast! So up on the Yellow Brick Road and quite happy about it.

Second Intro: First Fill today
kenophon replied to kenophon's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Iron Constitution or just a Bottomless Pit? We had a family birthday party last night and even though it was only about 36 hours after my first fill and despite the fact that I didnt really have any normal not pureed food in almost a month I decided to tempt fate very carefully and all went well! Ate for what seemed forever Prawns, Chili mussels, dolmades, avocado, salmon lasagna, curried fish, almonds and prunes pie and then some Just took my time, small bites and chewed a lot and I was just fine. I even made an attempt at squid, one small piece cut in minute pieces and chewed thoroughly. I only passed on the bubbly, the beer, the bread and the rice! So today is back to normal food and normal life and normal EXERCISE! -
Banded on the 6th of March, just had my first fill on April 4th. I had pretty well a similar experience as far as appetite is concerned! I lost about 25 lbs originally but have been stuck at a plateau since one week after the surgery! My doctor told me not to worry about it that it was normal! And also I gathered from this forum that most of the weight loss comes after a fill or two or three! If you can maintain the status quo for a while just count your blessings I guess! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/second-intro-first-t32699.html

Anyone ever made the analogy before? Newly banded here (March 6th, 2007) lost 19 pounds in the last 2 weeks... more to go of course but doing fairly well on the liquid stage. It kind of reminded me about how Alex felt sick when he was tempted to "sin"! Some sort of external restriction on a natural or unnatural, distorted habit! Well at least no one can force me to lick his shoes unless he keeps hammering my port over and over LOL and as far as that girl is concerned I don't need a band to keep me away from her...that's my wife's job!!!

Well I saw it on the big screen in 1972 and I was 16 then~! I remember it very vividly and I am a big fan of Kubrick! It was also the very first movie I saw in English and my English was quite limited then so I remember annoying my bilingual friend with way too many "What did he say?" and the scene I mentioned of course is the government press conference after his experiment! But it really hit me how close the two experiences are in a way. It's a good thing they were not playing the 9th during the lap band surgery

What kind of doctor did YOU have Wheetsin?

Just out of the hospital as we speak! Still a bit stiff but feeling good! I am sure I will have lots of questions as I get used to all this! Out of curiosity though anyone who had the band for a while and does bench presses and squats and heavy weight exercises or is this not advisable forever?

Thanksfor the info! I guess I am still under the anesthetics effect! It's a good thing I never press on that fentany button I'd still be with the fairies! Had my surgery 29 hours ago so I am still a bit stiff even though I am not in too much pain. BTW it was a first strange question to ask! I am 51M ! Born in Montreal Quebec Canada but Now living in Western Australia for the past 5 1/2 years!
