I was told to empty them twice a day. Besides that I just left them alone. I didn't have much coming out though. I only had the drains from tuesday-friday. Hope everything went well!

My pre surgery weight was 266. Before i had my panni i was about 172 and it took about 8 months to get there. Im about 167 now.

You look amazing! I'm very interested in this surgery but worried about the pain since I live alone. About how long would you say it was until you could get around on your own? How is the pain now? Also how long did you plan to take off of work? Thanks so much for the info & pictures. Definitely an inspiration for me!The pain wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. I left the hospital with 28 percocet and still have 6-7 left. I could get around ok by myself but Im a single mom so it was hard doing stuff for my son. Pain in minimal now. I took a week off of work cuz that's all the paid time off i had since i haven't been at my job long. I have a desk job and sit at a computer for 8 hrs so i was fine going back that soon. I would totally do it over again for the results that i got. Not having my skin slap against my thighs is totally worth it.

I will post an updated pic tomorrow. Having kids was my concern also. I would like to have more but not anytime soon. My doc said it shouldn't be an issue if i wait a yr or 2. I didn't go through all of this for nothing.

First couple days are not fun. Hope u have someone to help you out. I didn't have someone to help me and Im a single mom so it was rough. I was done with pain killers after about 5 days. Yeah i still hurt but its tolerable. Good luck

It probably wouldn't cover on my sides but i think she had to do the incision that way to make sure i didn't have the "dog ears." Im not worried about it. Im glad i don't have skin slapping my thighs when i try to run.

Just had my panni done last week. Not a happy camper while recovering but i know i will be happy once Im healed. Day of surgery wasn't bad. Didn't use much for pain medicine. Second and third days were rough and getting in and out of the hospital bed was horrible but after a week things are going more smoothly.

I was sleeved July 12, 2012. Just had panni done on July 30. My surgeon suggested i see his partner for skin removal when i saw him for my 8 month check up. And the surgeon wanted me to wait til i hit the one year mark so after all the insurance requirements that's about where it took me to. Now i have to start saving up for boobs

Update: surgery was Tuesday. Doc said surgery went amazing and she took off about 5lbs of skin. Left hospital Thursday afternoon. Drains came out yesterday. Looking pretty good so far. Need to keep the binder on for the next month. Still taking pain meds here and there. Going back to work Tuesday night. This will so be worth it after the pain and swelling goes away. Once i can stand up straight ill post before and after pics.

What is skin breakdown?
Skin breakdown is sores and irritation from skin rubbing together.

How did you get approved' date=' if you dont mind me asking?
Sent from my iPad using VST[/quote']
I followed all the guidelines from my insurance. The coordinator at my office took care of the rest. I had to see a nurse practitioner for 3 months in a row to document infections and skin breakdown. And that was about it. I was denied once and the coordinator appealed and i was approved.

Having my panni next week Tuesday. Really nervous ut can't wait to have all this extra skin off. 7-12 was my one yr mark and my weight has been steady for the past 6 months. My highest weight was 266 Im now about 170 and my doc says that's a good weight for my frame. Im 5' 7". So i think this surgery is really gonna help me be able to work my core more effectively and give me more confidence.
