    breast size (for women)

I will be very surprised if my boobs shrink because they never do. Even when I was a size zero I still had whats equivalent to a DDD! Large breast run in my family. My boobs will always be large for my frame no matter how skinny I get. My bra that I'm currently wearing is a 36K, I think that's a 36DDDD in old sizing charts. I've lost 50 pounds and the only thing that has gone down in my band size lol. I think soon I may need to go down to a 34K (34DDDD). My breast have gotten longer though :/ I will definitely need a breast lift but I personally don't ever want to be smaller than a DD so I don't want a reduction. *not sure if that last part made sense*

Who had the single incession ?

I was over a 40 BMI and I'm only 5'3. I'm not sure if it can be performed on a people with long torso's. This was also my first surgery so he didn't have to worry about scar tissue or anything. The single incision is mostly cosmetic because it hides the scars and the fact that you've had surgery. I don't plan on wearing a bikini but I feel that I have enough stretch marks and discoloration and I didn't want to add to that. It does increase your risk of a hernia but I haven't had any problems.

Who had the single incession ?

I had the single incision sleeve in October and it went great! They made the incision inside my belly button and I can't see the scar or anything. I can feel it when I stick my finger in there but I can't see anything when I try to bend down and look in there lol. My husband can't even tell where they cut me. The recovery way easy and I didn't have any stitches but they did use glue to close the incision and that eventually fell out and it did itch a little. I'm happy I have the one incision
  4. My NUT allows me to work certain things like that into my eating plan. I'm allowed 2 snacks a day and if I wanted chips I could eat 1 oz and be fine. My NUT and psychiatrist believe in moderation and this helps keep my cravings away lol. If I tell myself that I can't have it then I crave it even more and will overeat on them, so for me knowing that I can eat them as a snack makes me feel better. My weakness is fruit snack gummies but I can have 1 pack for a snack (equals 70 cals). A calorie is a calorie is a calorie (twinkie diet). I would say 90% of the time I make healthy choices but I do fit in treats every now and then.

    hair loss

I will be 7 months post op in 2 days and I haven't lost any hair yet. Maybe it's falling out so gradually that I haven't noticed it but I haven't noticed a difference in thickness or anything.
  6. I will be 7 months post op on the 2nd of May and I can also eat a lot of food............not all at once but over the course of the day I can consume a lot of cals. I met with my NUT Friday and she told me to stop counting calories and to focus on eating 3 meals per day about 1/2-3/4 of a cup each meal and to eat two snacks a day 1/4 cup. I've been doing what she said and yeah it's hard but so far I've been doing awesome. My problem has always been grazing, so for me its come down to being mindful of the fact that I'm mostly having head hunger and I need to get my body on a schedule. I have no idea how many cals I'm eating but I'm guessing it's around 600-900 cals. She wants me to eat healthy carbs because my brain needs it in order to function properly. It is hard to reduce your calories, especially this far out but I noticed that the first 2 days were the hardest but now it's pretty easy. Also seeing the scale start to move again keeps me motivated Good Luck! You CAN do this

    Losing will power fast

My husband just baked cookies! #pissed! I went to the NUT Friday and she lowered my cals and I'm so hungry and dealing with my will power and so far I'm extremely proud of myself because I've been doing what the NUT told me to do. I can have a cookie for a snack but I've already had 2 snacks today, so no more for me but tomorrow I can have 1. My NUT believes in moderation and I've been tapping into my inner skinny girl lol. My inner skinny chick is keeping me straight because I'm able to ignore the head hungry, whereas the old me would cave.

    Hair Loss

Sorry I'm just now reading your comment but I still haven't lost any hair yet. It will probably happen eventually but in a couple of days I will be 7 months post op and so far I haven't noticed any shedding or clumps of hair falling out.
  10. Thank You Super for replying This gives me and I'm sure other slow losers hope that we can still reach goal.
  11. Super- how long did it take you to reach goal? I'm sure it will take me over a year to reach goal
  12. I woke up soon after surgery and was in a room full of people who had just had surgery. I felt as if someone punched me very hard in the stomach. I kept coughing and had a hard time catching my breath because the pain was so intense. Most of my friends who had surgery after me didn't even remember anything from right after surgery but I did! I felt so out of control mentally and it's really made me rethink doing surgery ever again. Once they gave me the morphine my pain went down to a level 3. I just remember waking up and doing my best not to scream from the intense pain and the nurses were rushing around getting me meds and trying to control my pain. I have an extremely high pain tolerance but this pain was on a whole different level. Also before surgery when they gave me the relaxing meds to keep me calm, I still remember EVERYTHING! I remember chit chatting with the nurses and interns. I also remember being wheeled into the operating room and climbing on the table and the anesthesiologist putting the mask on my face and me drifting off to sleep. I guess I have a high tolerance and possibly need more meds lol. Thankfully it's a distant memory but I'm not sure if I want to go through surgery ever again. I did stop my pain meds about 15 hours after surgery because they make me vomit.
  13. Earrings cause scabs on my earlobe and I also had my eyebrow pierced when I was a teen and it kept getting infected. My body doesn't like jewelry unless it's a ring. Some necklaces make me break out in hives. I was sleeved over 6 months ago and haven't had any problems with my staples. I don't feel any irritation. I'm sure you will be fine.
  14. I puked so many times in the hospital that I lost count. I was puking because of the pain meds and the anti nausea meds didn't help at all. Once I stopped the pain meds, I stopped puking.
  15. I'm so happy some of the slower losers have posted because we all seem to be so quiet about our slow/average weight loss. I went back to weighing once a week and counting calories. SW-260 ish and my CW-212. I'm down almost 50 pounds from surgery. I thought I would be down more but I could of never of done this without the sleeve.

Over 3 months out and skin issues..

I'm dreading the thought of getting plastics. I always viewed myself as a tough person because I've given birth twice without pain meds. After my sleeve surgery when I woke up in recovery and was in so much pain I really started to rethink plastics because that's a even more painful surgery. My tummy tuck or breast lift are fully covered but I don't want to have them done at different times. I would much rather have a tummy tuck and breast lift done the same day, so that I only have to worry about recovering once. My fear of another surgery will more than likely lead me to paying out of pocket, instead of settling for the free surgery. I'm also getting a nose job in the future and I will probably get the nose job before I get a tummy tuck and lift. The nose job doesn't scare me because I've wanted it done for years. I'm praying that my skin will bounce right back after I lose the weight and so far I think everything is looking good.

    dumping syndrome?

I'm 6 months post op and that still happens every now and then. I've had it happen after eating spicy wings, ice cream, collard greens, etc. Sometimes it will happen and other times it wont. If I eat a atkins bar that makes me dump for the whole day! I stay away from those but the other stuff only has me running to the toilet twice and once it's out of my system I'm fine. I don't get a racing heart but I do sweat.

Why am I a Slowwwwwwwww loser?

I'm also pear shaped but the more inches I lose I'm becoming more of an hourglass lol. My hips are wide and butt has become more plump with age. My breast are large and they definitely aren't shrinking. The only place I'm noticing my weight loss is in my stomach and arms. My hips are definitely getting smaller but they will always be wide. I definitely have child bearing hips. I personally can't do low carb long term. I start to feel depressed, anxiety goes through the roof, severe constipation, zero energy, insomnia, etc. Low carb can really screw with your serotonin (feel good hormone) and mentally I would rather not do something that makes me so miserable. I eat a moderate carb diet and IMO it gives me the best of both worlds because I'm still in fat burning mode while also being able to avoid the negative effects of low carb. Low carb isn't good for everyone and I don't get why some people try to force low carb dieting down other peoples throat. We are happy it worked for you but it's not healthy for everyone and some of us just look at it as another diet that we've tried in the past. NGM was saying that adding healthy fats worked for HER.
  19. My doc gave me a 2 months worth of it and I stopped once that time was up. I haven't had any problems with acid since stopping.
  20. OP I'm so sorry to hear about your struggle with sugar *This isn't directed towards anyone but merely me rambling about myself* Before I started my journey I knew that something had to change and that I couldn't approach life after sleeve surgery with the all or nothing approach. I needed to find a way to incorporate a treat now and then (at least once a week). I usually pick Friday or Saturday as my day to not stay so strict, I still keep track of cals though. It's easy for me to avoid certain things when I know that I can have it Friday or Saturday. If I tried to take away that food forever then I would probably binge. My nutritionist also agrees with moderation and she doesn't want me to severely restrict carbs. I usually end up around 100-150g of carbs a day. I've been losing about 1-2 pounds a week, so kind of slow but it's a healthy rate of weight loss (plus I'm still breastfeeding). I've always loved "sleeve of steel" approach. I also haven't lost any hair and I'm 6 months post op. I guess in all my rambling is that maybe you should incorporate some sugar into your diet every now and then, and possibly try the moderation approach? Also start tracking your cals again. I keep my cals between 1000-1400 during the week and on Friday or Saturday I go up to about 2200, hell you gotta live life and have fun sometimes, have a couple of drinks Good luck

    Nausea in the mornings!

I had that problem in the beginning but thankfully it does go away. I just make sure to eat before going to bed and I eat every 2-3 hours throughout the day. Maybe consider sleeping with a small snack next to the bed, that's what I did and it helped. Now at 6 months post op I don't have that problem.

    Too much food?

I can only eat half of a 6 inch sub but that's a ham and turkey sub. I'm 6 months post op. Some people have longer stomachs and can eat more.

When do you drink you shake?

It's highly debatable whether or not your body can (or can't) absorb a "certain amount" of protein at a time. I've read that your body can absorb all the protein that you ingest, no matter how large the amount. In the end do whats right for you. I drink my protein shakes first thing in the morning for breakfast. Usually about 2 hours after waking I'll drink it and it takes away my cravings and I'm not as hungry throughout the day. Today my isopure protein shake I used 2 scoops, which equals 50g of protein. If I don't drink it first thing in the morning then I wont drink it at all. Its become a routine for it to be my first meal of the day now.
