I got a fill yesterday and now have 5.6 cc in a 10cc band. I hope I get restriction!
-
I had my first fill on my third doctor's appointment. I had 1 cc put in my band at surgery and my dr put 3 cc in. I do not feel a difference at all. I expected to feel a difference and be tighter going from 1 cc to 4 cc. I don't know what restriction feels like. I just eat small portions to feel satisfied. If I get full I know I've eaten too much. I hate that feeling its painful so I avoid overeating.

I'm not a mother but this really resonated with me. In 2008 I weighed 185 and lost 30 lbs. I slowly gained 100 lbs over 4 yrs and stopped being in any photos at the end of 2009. It breaks my heart that I have no memories from 2010-2012. I go to Florida 3x a year to visit my nephews and I never take photos with them. When they look back at their childhood photos I won't be in them. I feel sad about this. People have suggested that I take photos but don't upload them on Facebook. Seeing myself in photos makes me very upset to the point that I would binge. Obviously I'm not bingeing anymore but I can't deal with how I look in photos.

I was banded 9/25, 1 day after you, 2 cc was put in my band at surgery, NO fills and I'm down 20 lbs total including pre-op and post op. Dr & NUT saying I'm doing great but I feel like I should have lost more! I'm sooo impatient! I exercise, eat 3 meals, 1 cup of food at each meal. I'm going to start tracking my calories now. I want this bad!Thank you all so much. I am trying to get the scale to move like the rest of you and it does not seem to work. I have 5.5 cc into band, I track my calories, I push my fluids, and am now trying to exercise at least 3 times a week but things don't seem to move. I loss 24 lbs total, banded 9/24, but just can't move things like I need to. HELP!

I totally agree. I don't eat high sugar fruits like figs or medjool dates. I quit drinking diet soda over a year ago and got hooked on flavored selter. I miss my Canada Dry Mandarin Orange SELTZER! Now all I drink is Water and coffee. I just started drinking crystal light, I love their new flavor appletini. I'm five years sober and this is the closest I'm ever gonna get to an apple martini. My concentration and clarity improves when I'm sugar free.I agree that you should cut all refined sugar. I still had an occasional fruit, not I by dried fruit with no added sugar, because I just don't eat enough of it to cut ip the whole fruit! No white bread, Pasta, etc. It too me four months to even go to a multigrain bread. I just didn't want it to take up precious space in my stomach.
I also cut out soda and iced tea. You will notice after a couple months you won't even like the taste of soda once you don't drink it anymore. Now I drink hot Decaf tea (occasionally) or SF hot chocolate. That is really the only caffeine I get now days. Don't miss it at all.
Like the others said, once you detox from the sugars, your skins amazing and you do have more energy!

Sugar is poison! I don't consume any sugar or flour because they trigger me to eat more and I can't stop. I have ZERO cravings. I eat 1 serving of fruit a day at Breakfast, a sugary Cereal is not the same as the sugar found in fruit. I feel in control when I'm avoiding these two substances. My concentration and clarity improve as result of avoiding sugar.

This is true. I've found that the band requires a lot of self discipline. I suppose I could overeat but I'm afraid to. Catastrophic consequences/complications prevent me from eating more than 1 cup of food at a time. I weigh and measure all my food. I can't eyeball because I will probably eat more than I should. I hope this fear stays with me for a long time.

What does a stretched pouch have to do with eating more than you think you should? The problem is in my mind's not our stomach. My Dr. told me you get stretched pouch from jugging too much Water at one time.

4 weeks ago. Pbing is productive burping, I haven't experienced this.

one question' date=' have you lost inches?
are you wearing smaller sized clothes?
are you feeling better?
if you answered yes, then the band is doing its job. just because the scale isnt showing a number loss that you so want, it does not mean its not working. sounds like you are doing just great.[/quote']
I'm feeling better, lighter! My back pain is gone! I can walk pain free- I live in manhattan and a pedestrian. The band is working and I'm following the rules I'm just IMPATIENT! I want to be thin yesterday

I just left my surgeons office I was supposed to have my first fill today. I found out 2 cc were put in my 10 cc band at surgery which explains why I'm not hungry. I've lost 3.5 lbs in 3 weeks with just walking. My surgeon said this is excellent as most patients gain weight after surgery. I got clearance to lift weights YAY! I'm satisfied with this, as long as I'm losing its all good.

I just left my surgeon's office- I am regurgitating my food not vomiting- because of this they didn't give me a fill today. I need to master taking small bites and chewing thoroughly.

I have lost 20 lbs since the pre-op diet and don't see much of a difference. I couldn't calories before and I really don't want to now! Counting calories feels like being on a diet. I weigh and measure my food so I don't have to count calories. I"m going to meet with my nut.

Is pbing self inflicted? When I get stuck I don't feel like I have to burp. i've tried jumping up and down, taking a sip of Water, nothing works. I stick my finger in my mouth and all of it comes right up. What is this called? It's not the same as traditional vomitting. The food is lodged in my esophagus and has not been digested in the stomach.

I have problems with rolls even if its brown rice. I've gotten stuck a couple of times.

I'm 4 weeks post op and getting my first fill tomorrow. I feel kinda of discouraged about my weight loss thus far. Most of the weight pre-op and post op is Water weight. Am I being impatient? Am I still healing? Are my expectations unrealistic? I'm exercising and eating 3 meals a day weighed and measured of clean food. No junk. When does the real weight loss kick in?
-
I don't pb it up. Isn't vomitting when the food has already been digested in your stomach? The food is lodged in my esophagus. This is the reason we are instructed to take smalls bites and pause in between bites.
-
Sometimes food gets stuck in my throat and to alleviate this I stick my finger down my throat to get the food out. Is this not recommended? What else can I do on the moment? Help. Thanks!

I don't think the excitement of losing weight will ever wear off for me! I eat only healthy food in small portions. Protein at every meal, veggies and then either a sweet potato or quinoa as my carb. I hate the word diet so I'm not calling this a diet, it's a lifestyle change. For me it would not be ok to indulge in ice cream or junk food even in small portions and even if I were losing weight. This is self-sabotage, I'm a self pay patient and I didn't get this band to eat anything I want. Having this surgery was a BIG deal for me and I've made a commitment to myself to eat clean. I'm not going to get in my own way of success! Eating junk food made me fat and miserable and robbed me of having a big, full life. Now I say YES to life!
