  1. I just saw my surgeon this afternoon (Wed. Feb. 6) and she told me that Blue Cross will pay for removal of panni after one year from surgery date and a 100 pounds loss. Also' date=' if you have sores and irritated skin it needs to be documented with pictures for more proof that you need this surgery.[/quote']

Crooked are you in California? I've got anthem blue cross and had surgery march 6 2012 just got approved for initial plastics appointment. Is the 100 lost from surgery or from initial Bariatric process, I've only lost 92 from my largest when doc referred me to bariatrics but I've noticed that the pooch that was almost gone is now again folded over and the bat wings are awful create rashes and I've gotten a sore that left a scar. I hope Iim approved

  2. I've been in a stall or should say plateaued about 5 mossy 6 mos post op 1was 160 now 148 next wk is my 1 yr anniversary my surgeon set a 140 goal for me past 2 moths I've been going from 150 to 146 up down, I won't make the 140 and I'm disappointed but he'll do I feel 110% better than preop. I've become enemies with the scale but as long as I can run with out being out of breath and my entire body hurting I'm happy. Maybe focus more on big picture and not on scale. I've gone from size 20 to 6/4 I've never been this small since probably junior high. Give it time best of luck!

  3. My stay was also a mandatory 4 day. Phone and charger for sure, a comfy robe (hospitals are cold) over hosp gown makes it better, I was glad I brought my slippers it helped with the walking and allowed me to walk out to gardens and not have my feet get cold. I recommend you get up and walk as much as you can. Toothbrush toothpaste although you may not be able to first day since they don't allow you to drink anything at least that was my case. Small sturdy pillow helps abdomen pain when standing sitting coughing. Careful with your emails, texting and posting during the happy morph button period

  4. Hey there I had my surgery March6 2012. Hardest, most scary yet the best and most rewarding decision of my life! It's normal to be scared but as time flys by, because it will, and the pounds are shed off you will be so happy of your choice to embark on this journey. It won't be easy, and yes possibly painful and you may encounter negative comments and even haters as you transform into a healthier happier you, but all that willhave been worth it. Stay strong and best of luck. I have my 1 yr appt on march7. And I am still 7 lbsfrom my doctors goal a little disappointed but I think I'll make it in do time:)

I can't add you without an email. Dinorarojas@aol.com. I read some of your old posts and was just wondering how things are going with your partner ? I've been with my partner for 10 yrs and things have changed most for the best, but I have gained great confidence and the heaters around have made the attempt to twist this into putting me in a negative light and try to mess with my relationship. Hope all is well and I would like to add you to MFP

  6. Picking a goal weight is so hard. The only guidance I have is the bmi charts and mybodygallery.com. The lowest weight I have been as an adult was on my wedding day when I hit 133. That was after 5 months of dieting and running 5 miles a day' date=' every day. That being said, I would love to be maintain between 115-125. It seems like such a far fetched dream. I am 5'2".[/quote']

My surgeon told me that 135-140 would be ideal for me. I'm at 149 and I would love to get to 130 I'm already a size 6 sometimes 4 and have noticed that now the lower I go the more things are sagging and I'm not really liking the way my face is starting to look. I feel healthy and would love to be 120 but I may not look so healthy. So I think first set a realistic goal but do not tie your self to it.

  7. I also need help I'm 6 wks away from my one yr and I have not reached my goal I eat carbs and crap and feel like I'm hungry 24/7 I have lots of Water on most days at least 64 oz and have stopped going to gym, I know I'm setting my self up to fail maybe we can share and support each other. This week I decided to stop drinking for a month and see how it goes. I feel I've been sabotaging my diet with alcohol. I've completely stopped logging food and I need to get back to Protein packed diet, I keep saying tomorrow... Tomorrow I'll go to the gym suggestions?

  8. And I really don't understand why there are so many different boundaries with alcohol ! Some surgeons say 3 weeks ' date=' 1 month , 3 months , 1 year , never !!! Can't they all get on the same page !!! Or somewhere close within range of each other ... Jus sayin[/quote']

I think it may have to do with the surgeons own drinking pattern, lol. Can't believe you have gotten hate mail regarding this topic. We are human and for some of us drinking is part of our life and cutting it completely is not realistic, although It does hinder weight loss, it has for me and for the moment I've decided to stop for a month and compare. I think no one has the right to judge.

  9. The first thing I wanted to be able to do was just be able to cross my legs and the first time I realized my legs were crossed I cried! Simple things are what get me, like wearing heels all day, fitting in between stuff, sounds boring but I too had a list like a lot of you, skiing, zip lining, skydiving and I always thought I hadn't done these things because I was too fat, in part that was the reason but turns out mostly it's cause I'm a prissy wuss! Lol

  10. Your pictures are fantastic. How far out was the third(the stitches) picture? I just had my arms done on the 10th in Tijuana Mexico. I paid 1800.00 for the arm lift with Lipo. They look so good I can't believe it. I have never had such thin arms. I am to wear my arm compression garments for 4-6 weeks' date=' they say the longer the better. I only have a couple of removable stitches that too can come out in 2 weeks.

Best wishes to you and your recovery.[/quote']

Do you have any B4/after pics? How did you find your surgeon in TJ and do you mind sharing the info? Was this out patient? I've been considering and the price u posted is definitely accessible to me. When you said lipo and tuck you meant the arms only, correct?

  11. LoL I need to do that' date=' I only have a couple of things, one is a pair of white denim shorts, size 20!!! I should keep them within reach!!! Good idea. Like you, I went from an 18 - 20 and now I wear 4's and 6's. I like Gap jeans, and have three different styles and three different sizes. 4, 6 and an 8. The 4's look the best but the 6's are more comfortable! LoL The size 8's fit just like the 6's for some reason. I STILL look at the 4's and think 'surely not'. LoL I love, love, love to shop now....before, I shopped because I HAD to have something. I never felt good about it or had a fun time.

    [/quote']

We must be at the same weight because those are exactly the gap jean sizes I have, although the size eight style is starting to fit baggy. Before I only ever shopped for purses and shoes now I love shopping even more although I must say that the constant approach by sales staff now irritates me. Before I wouldn't get the time of day at stores especially boutiques now they won't leave me be to shop in peace, but I digress and discrimination against the obese is something that deserves its own post.

  12. We all go through this "I can't believe that's me" stay or we refuse to accept it. Im 7 wks away from my surgiversary I've gone from a 18-20 to a 6 even 4 sometimes and when it is a 4 I always assure myself it's a manufacturer mistake on the label! But I do have a little trick, when I'm feeling like I'm still 240lbs I grab a size 20 skirt I kept and I tryout it in an then look in the mirror, it's my " I did it" moment. The last pic is pre op the skirt pic is at 6 mos and the third was 1 mo ago

You are right and I try my hardest I must also confess that the eating guilt has intensified. I mean before I was ashamed to have that fried chicken especially eating in front of others but the chicken would win and my brian would justify the stares as "they expect you ( the obese gal) to eat that" now it's like if I'm with people that I know are judging and I myself am even worse, I find my self not just bring hard on me but others, as if I had no clue how hard this fight is. Shameful right

  14. TD41

You are absolutely correct, we must take control and be assured that I have :) I am the smallest I've ever been my entire adult life, actually i weigh less than i did in junior high, crazy right?! cause I'm only 34 and life has completely changed for me going from a size 20 to 6 is still mind blowing to me! Thanks for your positive words, the work will continue always
