What are you doing with all the time you are spending NOT eating now?
I have become addicted to Farmville and FarmTown as a result of the "spare" time.
What are you doing?

My doctor allowed salads at 4 weeks. I still have some trouble digesting them and i am almost 6 months out. They seem to come out looking the same as they went in!

Sooper-dooper! Great job!

I have been able to eat half a sub since about 3 months out. I can eat two slices of pizza. I have always been able to eat more than Tiff, and some of the others on here. I am losing, and not unhappy with my progress at all. I am eating less than half of what I ate pre-surgery, and that is good enough.

Wow! I am almost 6 months out, and have not had this side effect at all!
-
I find I am doing a lot more traveling now that it is more comfortable for me, and people aren't staring at me as much!

I have over 100 lbs to lose. So far I have lost 68lbs, and still losing. I totally love my sleeve. RNY lose faster, but I'm not in a race, and I didn't want to have "dumping syndrome." I think the sleeve is far less invasive- and if the tool is used properly you should lose what you want.

All I needed were some clothes to wear home! The hospital supplied everything else, including toothbrush, deodorant, Shampoo, etc.

I used Dr. Steven McKenna in Maryland. He works out of Shady Grove, Holy Cross, and Frederick Memorial. I would highly recommend him.

mommyof4- are you tall by any chance?
-
I'm a classic hourglass and almost 6' tall. It is hard to find curvy, tall clothing! I started out in a 26W and am now in a 20W. I cannot wait to be in 18 or smaller... I have not been that size since... grade school!

Excellent job! Woohoo!
I was in Grayling a couple of weeks ago! I love northern Michigan.

I never had surgery before my VSG. I didn't have a catheter or a drain tube. Just an IV. I received really good care, and cannot complain at all about my time in the hospital.
-
I smoked up until the day before surgery. I should have quit prior. I ended up being in the hospital for 5 days with no nicotine, and that was pretty miserable.
-
Dense foods- no. Sliders, of course.
I stopped using Protein supplements completely a couple of months ago, and I am able to get 60+ grams a day from my diet.
Once in a while, if I am in a rush I will grab a high Protein Bar for a meal replacement- but that is rare.
-
Are you getting a minimum of 60 grams of Protein per day? That is the only thing that saved me from feeling like I was just barely existing for the first three weeks or so.

I had just the tip of a suture sticking out, and I was able to actually squeeze it out after a couple of weeks of irritation.
Have your surgeon take a look next time. Mine had to cut off two sutures that were poking through.

I'm happy to report my husband solved this problem for me. Upon arrival at my parents house, he simply said, "doesn't my skinny wife look fabulous?" They had to say something! LOL. Case closed. Thanks for the input!

Stop victimizing yourself. I have gone back and read so many of your posts, and it is very sad to see what you are doing. Is it simply to get attention that you are not getting at home?
Seriously seek out some counseling. Your children deserve a healthier mother.

I had chronic daily diarrhea for about the first 3-4 weeks after surgery- then it just stopped.

I was in 5 days, and saw my surgeon two weeks after the surgery.
Anyone have surgery at Hurley in Flint, MI?

Hurley is an excellent facility! I didn't have sleeve surgery there, but have had other surgery. My mother taught nursing at Hurley for many, many years. You will have good care there.
