My "sleeve experience in Cancun, MX" starts tomorrow!
Sounds also like a good place to get R&R after the surgery with a SF virgin pina colada in hand and feet dipping in the water. Have fun !!

Gassing the room is short term and will get better. Not!!! Over nine months out and still gassy all the time. Was fun at first until I realized I was no longer in middle school. The dog also refused to be my scapegoat any longer. lol.

cross fit eating before and after - help
Another related question for the cross fitters / lifters (mark, dean, others): is there any harm in eating an extra good fat / good carb ( honey) early in the day to prepare for an after noon cross fit session? This is in addition to the 3 regular small Protein meals (3 oz) preceding the session. I want to make sure my muscles have enough glucose in order to not bonk during the cross fit session. Extra meal would be a paleo bar of 300 calories that has 21 g fat, 22 g carb and 14 g protein. On cross fit days I also do 1-2 miles of hill running with weights and sprinting in the mid morning to get my blood moving. It is more of a quick HIIT then anything, but not designed to do anything but get my heart up for 5-10 minutes with a good sweat. Standard meals before cross fit are between 100-150 calories of dense protein. I think it is needed, but wanted to throw the question out there. Thanks!

Just like Powerade zero they make vitawater zero. My suspicion is that poster is not drinking vitawater zero, but regular vitawater.

Wow, lucky you. Felt like crap for at least a week. It took me 3 weeks to almost feel normal and the 5 months to have a lot of energy. I think the high energy comes with regular exercise. Myth!!

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Joining WW is a good way to be in a group environment for support and accountable when maintaining. Plus one can limit themselves to weighing only on visit. It is a good model for eating long term.

How many carbs should I be eating?
By the way, I do not count fiber and sugar alcohols in my total daily carbs.

How many carbs should I be eating?
Choose lean Protein first and only eat carbs if they are part of the protein food. During 1st 6 months, the most carbs I have eaten as part of protein is 2-3 g. I did not drink milk nor did I eat fruit. Nuts were not part of my diet for a long time, but I added them back in around month 5 in terms of energy squares (good carbs / fats before running). The energy squares get burned up when running 10 k. Now that I am done with weight loss, I get carbs from veggies, raw honey (paleo bar) and energy squares. You have to be careful when eating out to know the nutritional content of food items on the menu. Sometimes I mess up and order something with too much sugar or fat because it looks healthy. I do not eat breads or sweets. This way of eating may be too strict for most during first 6 months, but worked great for me. I am slowly adding in food items that are compatible with a paleo diet. This is still a learning process to find a good diet that helps me maintain yet provides energy for an active lifestyle of running, hiking and cross fit.

- 15 months sleeved- Hydration is key
What do you think of Chia seeds as a viable long term approach to staying hydrated during a workout? I seems to not need water during an hour of running and think the hydrated chia seeds are giving back water as they sit in the GI tract. Those that take Chia seeds, Your thoughts?- Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?
That's great BTB! I know you will love it. Every WOD will be a challenge, much different from running. You may need to modify your diet a bit to explode on the lifts.- nine months out and acid
No worries, I read it correctly even with the typo.- nine months out and acid
I hope it gets better as I have been popping PPI daily since surgery without missing a day. It would be good to not need it any longer, but now I am having doubts because of the issues.- nine months out and acid
No, no greasy foods. Food like chicken sausage, protein shake and brocolli today. I did have some "Thai hot" Thai dish on Saturday that was so hot I could not taste any flavor. I probably would not do that again as I like to taste my food.- nine months out and acid
Acid has been boiling up into my lower throat in the past week when being eliminated by daily Prilosec for so long. In fact, today I have take 3 Prilosec through the day today and it is still feeling like my throat is burning. Have any of you seen acid come back after month 9 or so (could be earlier or later)? It is not bad yet, but annoying as it makes me want to pop tums like candy.- Dumb move

The deal is out is very hard to chug a month out, even 3 months out. By six months out, it was possible to chug again. Do be careful about chugging though because if you drink too much too soon, you can get the shoulder pain that we got with excess gas after surgery.- Just ate a Wendy's cheeseburger!
I ate a 8 oz hamburger patty my wife made about a week ago for dinner. Afterwards, I was wondering how did I just do that... my comment to her was please make them 3-5 oz for me. Usually I can only eat max 4 oz dense meat and will stop eating because full. Not this time though. It might have been because hamburger meat is not so dense.- Started 'Couch to 5k today' Anyone keen?

Question about compression clothes. If I buy a sport shirt for athletes one size too small, would that count as a compression shirt?- My Suggestion-Stop The Obsessing. Rules Are Meant To Be Broken
