Had sleeve surgery JULY 2nd!! I called it my independence day!! I've struggled with weight problems all my life it seems... Although looking back at my pre- mommie years, I wasn't half bad. For the last 13 years I've started a diet every Monday it seems - rarely made it past lunch before I was off of my " diet ". Making the decision to have wls was not easy... I'd been successful losing weight on WW- but gained the 36 pounds back over about a years time. I'd reached my highest weight ever of 250, and absolutely hated looking at myself in the mirror- I started buying xxl - something I resisted for years. It got to the point that I was looking at pictures of myself over the years n all I saw was me - overweight. It really made me realize how long I'd been struggling with this weight. My 20's 30's n now I'm 42- I decided the second half of my life would be different - boy did my family offer resistance - I was disappointed they didn't support my decision. They kept saying I look good , suggested that I try diet again... I got to the point that I cried , but I did not relent. I've loss 15 pounds since my pre-op diet, which I started one week prior to my surgery date. I can't say enough how excited I am about my decision!!

Tracy- i didn't have much pain... This was my only hope- I had gotten to a point where I hated looking at my body- I've always been shapely but when I took my clothes off - I just hated what I saw n I couldn't understand how my boyfriend found me attractive but he did - he never one time complained about my weight n told me from day one if I want to have wls- make sure I'm doing it for me because he didn't have a problem with my body - I still was unhappy with it n I felt it was so unfair to my kids to have a " fat mom".... Both my daughters play soccer n I can't wait to practice kicking with them! Would I do it again??? HECK YEAH!!

Kiki- our stories sound too much alike! I've lost 28 lbs... Im expecting a stall b/c everybody keeps saying they get on at 3 weeks or so .... I daydream about the day I'm in a size 16 or 12.... When I hit ONEderland... I'm going scream!!!

I've never really had "friends" just a gang of cousins n my brother n sister... Thank God they are supporting me... At first they were worried about me having surgery n begged my to try some other WL method, but now we are all good. I couldn't imagine losing friends over improving myself... That must be really hurtful...

OMG... We were sleeved on the same day m I can't eat any of that stuff!!! I get completely full off a coupla saltine crackers... My doctor would probably have me committed if I ate any of that - it's amazing how different surgeons are!! No pain huh ?? That's UNBELIEVABLE!!

ShannonK!! That's awesome, I had my surgery July 2 also- I've lost about 23 pounds as well- I haven't been approved for fish yet - I think that's in my fifth week... What does your usual day of food consist of... If you don't mind me Asking..

OH EMM GEE.... I can't believe this !! Being in a support group doesn't mean being agreeable to everything someone says... It wouldn't be right for a group member to sit here and watch LT sabotage if we can help it- getting this weight off is hard, but it's the common denominator- we are all in this together !! Am I my brothers keeper ??? Yes I am!! And that means sometimes I'm gonna tell him something he does not want to hear- take it a grain of salt and keep kickin- of you don't agree, well agree to disagree. There is no need to insult one another - I'm Disapponited.

I'm 19 days out n my stomach is really sore... I think the blood thinners are slowing down my healing process - anyone else experience this ?

Thanks Evette, but I'm still on mine. I just didn't expect any soreness by this time - I'm gonna do some research

Yea sleeve of steel I was gonna say the same thing- I have a great aunt that had her stomach removed due to Cancer, it was several years back - she's 103 now!! Seriously!

Cindy- I was sleeved the same day!! I couldn't really sleep comfortably until the bloating from the gas was released ! The best way for me to get rid of the bloated feeling was to walk - I walked about 15 mins a day n almost immediately started releasing gas...my stomach is down and I sleep so much better!

YOU LOOK FABULOUS!!! I can't wait til my swimsuit debut!! I don't care if it's DECEMBER!!

The entire process again??!? DEVASTATING!!!
