    Is This Cheating

Relax lady. You can eat the chicken too. You just need to puree it. Put either one in a food processer with some chicken broth and puree it. You will be a happy camper.

    Alcoholic Drink Recommendation

Have you tried drinking at all yet. I personally really can't. It burns! So if you have the same problem, it might not matter what you order, you might just be looking pretty with it. But if you are ok, try getting a fun flavored vodka (Three Olives Loopy, Omg) and water! Lots of ice so it will also water down a little more. But try drinking something first just to make sure you even can. I used to be a pretty seasoned drinker, but right now it just burns and hurts. I'm 11 weeks out right now.
  3. I try to take a ton of tiny sips one right after another with out taking to cup away from my mouth so it feels like i'm chugging it. But its really not the same. lol, I'm thirsty though!

    Possible Popsicle Overdose!

Yeah, They give you those little one ounce cups for a reason. Hopefully that guy turned out to be ok.
  5. Drinking is rough. If I take too big of a sip then it goes down and stops right before it goes into my stomach. Then I have to wait for it to funnel in, while trying to burp air out of my stomach to let the fluid in. I actually hate drinking. lol.

    Question About Drain Site

I typically am a slow healer. I was really shocked that by the next morning mine was totally shut. Maybe try closing it and using a butterfly bandaid? That was what I was planning on doing.

    Medical Alert Bracelets?

I have one. A fellow sleever that I am friends with on FB got one and it seemed like a good idea. Esp for me because I am going to vegas on vaca in a week, I also go to concerts and things like that where I don't have my purse or card. I only where it when I am out doing something that if something happened I would be safe. Also only a few of my friends know about this, So if I'm out with people who don't know then I wear it. But if I'm at work, with my family, or with my couple of friends that know and something were to happen, I know that they will know what to say or to at least (because I told them) to look in my wallet. I did get mine from a company called Laurens Hope. Super cute! Also mine says: My name Gastric Sleeve 5/12 No Blind NG/OG tube PCN/Sulfa Allergies Dr. xxx-xxx-xxxx It's not the worst thing in the world to own.

    Possible Popsicle Overdose!

Oh my goodness! I think you are ok. The hard thing is with giving advice is that everyones doc offices give them different rules to follow. Like mine says I can't eat lettuce until month 5. Really? Lol. I'm about 11 weeks out right now. But the way my surgeon explained liquids is that it takes about 5 mins for your stomach to empty out liquids. I personally eat them like its my job. I think I have a popsicle addiction. But I know I need to watch it because there are carbs in them. At the stage you are at, it's no biggie. You are not getting in carbs in any other form yet. Where as I eat regular food too. Your sleeve will tell you to stop when it needs you to. Listen to it! As for the Powerade, make sure it is the Zero. My paperwork says if you are feeling dehydrated drink Gatorade and then go back to your sugarfree drinks. But the Zero is sugarfree, carb free and has Electrolytes. Keep some of that in your fridge.

    Possible Popsicle Overdose!

I don't believe so. But make sure you are getting your water in. Esp if you are able to. I know personally I need to have my drinks super cold. I use a ton of ice. Try Powerade Zero. But in this heat make sure you are staying hydrated. Lots of people drink the powerade. I know that is what is next to me.
  10. Hi! This is my first post on this site. I also had my surgery by Dr. Posner. Mine was May 1st. We have some things in common. I too gained a bit of weight before surgery. Having a breakdown in the room at my last pre-op weigh in appt. I actually gained about 18 lbs but got it down to 9 by that appt. the PA told me he is probably going to cancel. Oh boy did I start falling apart. I had been sick before and was chugging bottles of cold medicine and everything else. 2 antibiotics and steroids later I was finally better. But I had pretty nasty broncitius. I also had the risk of him canceling because of the steroids. You can't have those too close to surgery. Well she came back after going to look for him and he said it was ok. He would not cancel. I guess it was because my body fat had gone down though since my last visit, so he saw improvement still. Perhaps that is a factor in him not canceling yours. Now I am so greatfull to not have had any recovery problems. He sent me home the next day because I was doing "too well". Lol. I was driving the next day, shhh... And went back to work a week later. P.s. I am nuts, I'm a hairstylist! I at times wasn't sure what to think of him. Day of surgery, He is all business. But I find him funny. Now, It wasn't until my one week Post op appt that I found him to be wonderful and kind. I left there wanting to be his friend. He talked to me a lot and even sat with me in the hall chatting until the NUT was ready for me. But the biggest thing that I hate is that I won't ever see him a again for appts. I will tell you this. We are so lucky to have had him as a surgeon though. I did no research on him prior to surgery but have since. But the biggest thing for me is that I have several clients that work at BGH and know him. Every one of them has nothing but wonderful things to say about him. One in particular, She worked with him in his operating room for many years and said, but told me not to tell him, lol, that he truly is the be liproscopic surgeon in the area. So in that respect we did well. Now the weight loss part.... It sucks! Like you again, I'm super limited as to what I can do for exercise. I have a torn ACL along with some other ripped up stuff in my knee. Going upstairs is the worst. I just turned 30 and I can hardly make it up them. I've tried to go for walks and like the last time, I limped and was in pain for 4 days. I'm having surgery for it end of September. So until then the weight lost is crazy slow. I'm 9 weeks post op and in the whole 2nd month I only lost 7 lbs. I feel like I'm wasting all of the good weeks. The ones where I should be the most productive. But it is what it is and i have to tell myself (and believe it) that I wouldn't have lost it otherwise. Do I feel hunger still? I swear I was starving in the hospital. And this is not head hunger. Although that is rough. I do feel like I am, I wouldn't say getting over it, but it has gotten so much better. But I really do feel hunger. When I went for my one month post op I told them that, but she just got on my case about the fact that I wasn't hardly eating. I did notice when I first started adding calories the scale moved. I have a hard time getting in liquids. In this heat I've been drinking Powerade zero. I don't want to dehydrate. But the hunger is there. I have talked asked other sleevers that I talk to on facebook and it sounds very common. I will say that it has gotten much better. Maybe because I am used to it now. Where before I was so upset because I didn't think I was suppose to feel it. Dr. Posner told my mom that he feels very confident that I will lose 10 lbs a month. He said to me that I will lose at least 100 lbs in a year. Oh did I mention that I too had the hernia? He found it during surgery. I guess he always looks for them. Sounds like he was surprised that I had it because i had no signs of it before. Anyway, I'm sorry that this is soooo long! Lol. But I love that there is someone that knows the same people at the doc office, someone that, unfortunately, is going through and feeling the same things I am, And lives in the same town as I do! If you ever want to chat off this board that would be awesome. I believe there is a way to send a message privately. I could give you contact info through that. Hope to talk to you soon!
