    Protien shakes

Chike shakes are great. I've also found Syntrax Nectar shakes - they have all kinds of flavors (lemon tea, apple, cherry, etc) that are very light and can be mixed with water. They have been my saving grace. Had pink grapefruit this morning - yummy!! I get them from BJ's Bariatrics (online) and you can order a sample pack that you make up yourself. Quick shipping, too. Ordered some more mid-week and they came yesterday.

    My Story

Good for you for taking charge of your health!! Best of luck to you!

    Starbucks Frappachino Lite?

I tried one of the Fit Frappes yesterday and it wound up getting really thick - and I think it is what wound up upsetting my tummy last night...going to stick with Chike.
  4. That's exactly where I'm sore - left side! Other than that, I'm doing good, too. Sleeved 3/26 - 21 lbs down as of yesterday, all post-op!
  5. I have Cigna, and since the hospital and all of the doctors involved are in-network, I pay $0 after I met my deductible ($3,000 - but I was already more than halfway there before the surgery).

    Protein Shakes

Chike - anything but banana...and they have a really good iced coffee! Bariatric Fusion - all have been good so far Syntrax Nectar - especially like the iced tea, lemonade and fruit flavors...nice change from vanilla/chocolate

    cross fit and running

This is not unusual at all. My brother-in-law is an avid runner, and he knows the location of every bathroom along his routes...

    Pain, nausea and Gas pains

It gets better...my first two days were pretty rough. Keep walking, and keep sipping. Did the doc give you any nausea medication? I went through two different ones, then got a wristband with an electric pulse and that finally did the trick. Call your doc!

    Calcium chews ?

I like Calcet - you can get them online. They come in chocolate (YUMMY!!!) and lemon (haven't tried yet - but heard they're good). I've also tried the caramel ones from Bariatric Advantage, but I like the Calcet ones better. At the moment, though, I'm using Wellesse liquid - it's creamsicle flavored. Got a free sample and a couple of bottles with coupons so I'm going to use those until it runs out.

    Room spins/dizzy

Had the same thing happen to me today - went to the doc and she said my body is just adjusting to everything... My BP is typically low anyway, and today it was lower than usual. She said it's partially due to the rapid loss (21 lbs @ 10 days out) and not getting quite enough fluids in. Resting up today and taking it easy - and really trying to push the fluids.

    Too soon to go back?

I am still feeling kind of woozy today - went to see my PCP to see if my BP was low...perfectly normal. She said my body is probably just feeling the shock of all the changes, and she is all for me staying home, too. After all - losing over 21 lbs. in 10 days can certainly throw a body for a loop! I'm going to take full advantage of my time at home to just rest up, get in a routine, and feel GOOD!
  14. I'm up at 2:30 am...not happy right now!! I've been sleeping in the recliner part of my couch since I came home, but not sleeping really well, so I tried to sleep in bed for the first time tonight. I made it from around 10:30 until just about 2:00 and then woke up and couldn't get comfortable again. It feels like my chest (ribs) hurt. So I sat up and got super dizzy - that has gotten better, but still hasn't gone away yet. Obviously some nausea usually comes with the dizziness... I had called my doctor's office yesterday to fax my paperwork so I could go back to work on Monday. Now I'm nervous that I'm jumping the gun and trying to go back too soon. I was approved to be out until 4/24, but I know I don't need that long (surgery was 3/26). I have my 3 week follow-up on 4/12 so I have to be out then anyway...but there are important things going on that I should really be a part of, including a really big meeting on 4/11. What would you do??

    Breakfast Ideas

I can't eat yet (only 10 days post-op) but my recommendation would be not to feel locked into "breakfast foods" for breakfast. If you're bored with that kind of stuff, eat whatever you want! There's no rule that says you can't have chicken and veggies for breakfast if you want. As long as it's something on your "ok" list, and you can tolerate it, go for it! I always find it funny that so many of us think it's fine to have breakfast for dinner, but not the other way around!
  16. They generally say that 5 weeks out you're pretty much past the danger stage for leaks from the staple line of your sleeve. DVT is deep vein thrombosis, or blood clots. Always a concern after surgery.

    This can happen to you!

Wow! Talk about inspiration to keep going!! Congrats - you look amazing!

    Too soon to go back?

Thanks everyone... I just had a "come to Jesus" talk with my husband. He reminded me that in this case, I need to come first and that I have come too far to mess anything up now. I think I'm going to call the doctor's office today and rescind my request - and not go back until after my follow-up next week. The work world will go on without me...

    week 1-2 calories?

I was sleeved on 3/26 - just focusing on getting my liquids and protein in. Calories go up and down by the day depending on whether I have milk in my shakes or just water... I wouldn't worry about it this soon.
  20. I would call your doctor - I'm already on a PPI (Nexium) but I had terrible heartburn yesterday and he told me to take Pepcid and it made world of difference!
