Right now I'm going through the steps to be approved first. I just finished my lab work and then I see my PCP on the 28th for results, sleep apena results and to ask more questions as to the next steps. Congrats! on the surgery I hope everything went well on Monday.

Thanks for the comments everyone it was nice to read the mixed responses. From what it sounds like most husbands dont have an issue with the new wife "physically" I just know this is a mental process and as it is for us women it is also for our husbands. Thanks!

My husband is supportive but there is times when I wonder if he deep down has reservations. I have lost almost half of my size. I feel different to him. Overall he loves the new me but sometimes he will comment about liking the old me too. I do get scared but I am happy with the new me.
Thats what I was wondering do married couples ever face the complications after surgery. I mean cause you are a new person in a sense physically.

My husband is my #1 cheerleader as he has always been with all my weight loss solutions. But I feel deep down inside the weight loss will affect our marriage because he loves my curves. When I meet my husband I weighed 185 and after dating I weighed 236. Five months after we got married I found out I was pregnant and had a horrible pregnancy I lost and gained weigh so much after the baby was born I weighed 205. But my daughter is now 2 years old and durning that time the most i've weighed was 279 pounds I am now 262 pounds but I believe it's because I elimaninated fast food and soda's from my intake. But I know the weight will come back as it has in the past but I wanted to know how do married couples deal with such a issue. Since it is like being with someone new (physically) and the attraction from others will soon happen. How do you handle or deal with such a good problem "weight loss"?

Last night me and my husband search youtube for videos on the do's & dont's of a lapband. We found one video of a woman who was sitting in her car and she gave a short list of the dont's only. It look as if she was reading from a book she recieved from a lapband meeting. Unfortunetly I will not be able to attend a meeting in my area because they are all durning my work hours. Can someone please provide a list of the DO'S & DONT'S.

I have searched high and low for a list of the various things I will need pre-surgery. I see everyone has a list of diffrent things but they never mention why and where to purchase them. Can someone please provide a list of the MUST HAVES items a person will need before surgery and where you purchase them from.

My name is Sakoia I am 28 years old, I weigh 262 pounds and I live in the Milwaukee,WI area. On June 30th at an office vist with my pcp I decided to move forward to have LapBand surgery. By having this surgery I know I no longer have to deal with low self-esteem, high blood pressure, depression/anxiety, and other health complications i've faced over time. My weight gain started in 2005 after being in an abusive relationship and being a single mother. But I am now have three beautiful girls and a loving, supportive husband of three years. I now want to move forward in my life by dropping the baggage/weight and be the Sakoia thats trapped inside. I found this community after searching for info on the procedure and I know I will meet postive supporters and find motivition on this journey. I have so many questions about the rules, excerise, excessive skin, the mental change, and much more. I hope to soon find a mentor/buddie that could help me along the way too.
Thanks
Sakoia
