I am two months out. Have lost 34 pounds. I have a sip or two everyday of soda. Hasn't seemed to effect the weight.

I had my surgery October 23 in Vanderbilt with Dr. Williams. Everyone was great. The hospital care, not so good. I have lost almost 30 pounds. I live in Middle Tn.

Normal. And do not trust it to be only gas.

Thanks everyone. Even though I am not very happy with the answers.. I will try my best. But it has been the only thing I'm having a hard time with.

I am soooooo wanting a diet pepsi. Can I ever drink one again. I am three weeks out. Please someone tell me its okay.

I have been using the Flintstone gummies complete, love them. They dissolve quickly in your mouth. I will let you know if they work. I have a check up in two weeks.

That sounds so familiar, esp the recovery room. I thought it was because I was self-pay and they wouldn't make any money on me. Hmm.Bless your heart. I was sleeved at Vandy on 10/22. I still have nightmares about how long I languished in recovery. My surgery was at 7:30 and I don't think I got to a room until 4:30 and they wouldn't let my husband come see me until around 4! I know I was drugged up of course but I felt like nobody knew I was there or that I was in pain. I keep trying to sit up because the gas pain was so uncomfortable but I couldn't. I never saw Dr. Melvin before or after surgery. It would have eased my nerves see him beforehand but it doesn't matter now.
Not sure now. But how are you doing with your weight and diet. I am so excited about not being hungry. I have lost 16 pds.

SLEEVED 10/23, down 15 pounds. Eating soft foods, loving it. No problems, thank you Lord. Get to start regular diet in 12 days, yea.

My NUT says cereal is okay after four weeks.

Hey, I had the same feelings for just a minute. But yes, it is going to be alright. I love to cook also so last night for several hours, I looked up all the exciting recipes that fellow members posted. They look great. So hang in there.I'm just 5 days out since I had surgery, but I'm starting to really feel depressed.
I'm still on clear liquids only, but with that I'm aloud to eat sugar free Jello. I tried eating the Jello today for the first time, and after 2 spoons of it, I immediately threw up. I've also had a 4 day stomache from trying to jam myself full of liquids. Please tell me this isn't how it's going to be...
One of my biggest passions in life is cooking and sitting around a table with my friends and family and eatting and talking. It's just what we do down here in the south. If I can't handle 2 spoonfuls of jello, how am I going to be able to eat again?
I feel like I've given up what I love just so I can wear a pair of smaller jeans...
Please tell me this gets easier and I'll be able to eat again.

Hey Pam, glad everything is going alright with you. I am so glad Vanderbilt does not make us go on extreme liquids pre and post. So many on here had to do liquids two weeks before and two weeks after. Wow, not sure I could've done that. I go to Vandy tomorrow for check up. scales say I have lost 10 pounds. Yea.....Hi I was sleeved at Vanderbilt on 10/24. No problems so far, just struggle with the Water intake. My doc was Dr Clements.

Don't mess around with this. If you are having doubts, ask yourself why. This is a very important surgery. You are the only one that can take care of you.

I was sleeved on Oct 23. at Vanderbilt. Dr. Williams was my doctor. I am a 53 year old female. My surgery went well, didn't remember anything until they were waking me up in the recovery room. Immediately, I threw up, pooped and urinated all over myself at the same time.(Don't you know they loved me) After about 7 hours in recovery I finally got a room. Continued to have "dry heaves". I was released after 36 hours. Next two days in and out of sleep, no pain and incisions looking good. I guess that would be the worst part of my story. I am getting stronger everyday. When I weighed from coming home from the hospital, I had gained 10 pounds of Fluid. Now I have lost the 10 pounds of fluid plus 8 of my own. Yea.
I am eating puree foods. Everything has agreed with me so far except one of my crushed blood pressure medicines. My cousin who was sleeved 6 months before me(has lost 82 pounds) brought me Syntrax Nectar Protein Powder. It really is good. It helps me get my Protein in along with fluids. I have had the support of a wonderful husband that has taken such great care of me.I am excited about this new me. But, as they say, "This ain't for sissies".
Good luck to everyone and if I can help anyone on this site or in the Nashville area--just let me know.
God Bless.

Does anybody else have this plan:
Day before surgery: full liquids
Hospital stay: Clear Liquids
First Week: full liquids and pureed diet
2-4 Week: Soft Diet
One Month: Regular Diet
Just wondering, most of the comments I have read are different.

Good luck, I am also having my sleeve on the 23rd too.I'm scheduled for 11/23. I'm going to stock the house with supplies first. Has only one used baby food? I know it sounds weird but it is soft in consistency.

I have used gummies from the beginning. Just had my three months out blood work and everything was great.
