  1. So my husband and I have an 18 month old. He used to work off for two weeks at a time so I pretty much did everything for the baby. Even when he was home I did everything. So now he's working in town so he's home all the time. He hasn't changed a diaper in over two months, he's never fixed a meal for our son, he will occasionally bathe him but won't put on his PJ's. So the baby started antibiotics yesterday. I forgot to give him the probiotic and he got diarrhea. I've changed 5 poopy diapers already-one of which required a bath. I asked husband to change the last one. He did it but he was mad. He says why did you want to have a baby so bad if you don't want to do the mommy stuff. And I said he's OUR kid and we are supposed to be equal partners. And he says it's a mother's job to do diapers and bath time and all that other stuff. Am I missing something? Is it 1950 again?
  2. I'm a little over 8 weeks out and I feel the same way. Haven't eaten more than 300 calories in the past week. The thought of eating makes me so nauseous that I just don't. Saltines are a savior. I upped my PPI to twice a day so hopefully that will help. Have an appt a week from today. Trying to hold out til then. Hope you feel better!

    Husband Is Confused...

We did have the discussion before we had a baby. He was going to be the best dad-way better than his sorry excuse for a father. And for the first two weeks he was super dad. After that it was downhill. Kid usually cries when dad does stuff like changes his diaper or picks him up. I assumed that's why he quit doing it. Confidence has never been an issue. I always speak my mind. But this is an issue we are going to have to deal with sooner than later. It might be time for some therapy! We've gone through many changes over the past two years. Hubby hasn't adjusted well to any of them. Thank god for women! Without us the world would fall apart!
  4. Me too! I feel like a lunatic! My poor husband....

    Soooo Annoying!

After my c-section, I had a stitch sticking out. It hurt! It was pulling on that tender skin and irritating it. As soon as the doc pulled it out, the pain was immediately gone. Maybe your doc or the nurse could just get it out.

    Biotin

I already posted this somewhere else but.... My dermatologist said taking Biotin with the Multivitamin was fine. I take 10,000mcg a day. She said to split the dosage because the body couldn't absorb that much at one time. She also said to take a Vitamin called AGPro. It's amino acids. The AGPro and biotin work together to help with the hair loss.
  7. I went to the dermatologist yesterday about my already thinning hair. Seems its hereditary....yay! Anyway, she said massive weight loss will cause you to lose hair. I asked about Protein intake (because even at 2 months out I still don't get 60 grams a day) and she said that doesn't really cause your hair to fall out. She said to take the Biotin and another Vitamin called AG Pro which is some type of amino acids. She also suggested using men's rogaine once I'm done having kids. Thought some of you might find the use of the AG Pro helpful!
  8. I'm 8 weeks out and nothing tastes good. I'm having a lot of trouble reaching my calorie and Protein goals for the day. It seems that most food makes me a little nauseous at the thought of eating it. lunch meat, Greek yogurt, Protein shakes, smoothies, most meats are all just gross right now. Not sure what to do. Its like my taste buds and sense of smell are superhuman and it makes everything taste off. Anybody else have a problem eating?

    Just Curious...?

    Sizes are weird. I'm 5' 10" and at 286 I wore a 24. In college I was 155 and wore a 14. I don't remember a time when I wasn't a 14. But I look back at pictures and I was skinny!

    Need A New Forum

Lml32937...what veggies do you eat for protein other than beans? I'm getting a little sick of meat and cheese!
  11. This will probably sound stupid but I found it impossible to keep up with the 30 minutes before and after. I was stressing myself out with it! So I just drink when I feel like it. I stop a few minutes before I know for sure that I'm going to eat. I do try to wait longer after I eat.
  12. My favorite is "I mean you can have a bite. A little bite isn't going to hurt you." I respond that I didn't get my gut cut out so that I could continue to eat junk. No that little bite isn't going to hurt but it ain't gonna help either! I had a few guests for dinner last night and made a lemon pound cake. My friend, who is on a diet but ate cake anyway, was like you can't even have a little slice?!? Yeah, I can but I'm not! Jeez!
  13. I have never heard about not having caffeine. My doctor must just be super lenient. I got very little instruction past at 4 weeks I could eat normal food. Anyway, all I drink all day is tea. Earl Grey and good ole Lipton iced tea - I'm nit dehydrated Guess I should ask at my next appt! I'm feeling a tiny bit paranoid that I've been doing the wrong thing!

Two Weeks Out ; Am I Normal?

I was the same way. I could drink about 1/2 of a Water bottle a day. I did not have any Protein or Vitamins for the first 3 weeks. Doctor said to keep trying the protein powders. Nobody wanted to believe that the smell of that stuff made me want to vomit. Greek yogurt does too. So for all those weeks I felt like a big pile of crap. Then suddenly at 4 weeks when I was able to eat regular food it all got better like overnight. It will get better!
  15. I'm a teacher too! I've been trying out different bars for Breakfast because I can't seem to get up early enough to get dressed much less make breakfast. Anyway, I tried one that contained those sugar alcohols...ugh....never again! My insides did not appreciate it at all. I had a Zone bar this morning-chocolate Peanut Butter. It was really good. No badness for the tummy. It was 200 calories with 14 grams of Protein. It did have 25 carbs which I know a lot of people on here are low carbers. I'm not.
  16. I have an 18 month old. He weighs 31 lbs. My doc said no lifting from the floor for two weeks. It was okay to put him in my lap if I was sitting. I was very, very lethargic for the first two weeks but I could not tolerate those Protein shakes or anything that even smelled like that stuff. So for two weeks I had nothing but Water. Had I followed doctor's instructions I'm sure I would have felt much better!
  17. At 4 weeks I hit a stall for about two weeks. I didn't really let it bother me because I wasn't doing exactly right - eating all the protein and taking vitamins and what not. Anyway, I put on a pair of preop pants and noticed that I suddenly had three or four inches of extra material on each thigh! Guess I was burning inches instead of pounds! I'll take it!!!!

    Protein Bars

I've been eating Protein bars to get extra protein because I find it impossible to get 60 grams in one day. I do no use protein powder! Every kind I tried had a smell that I couldnt get past. Anyway, it takes me literally all day to get down one Quest Protein Bar. I also planned on eating one for breakfast until I realized how long it took me to eat one! I sure wish I liked Greek yogurt because that seems to be a staple for a lot of people. Ugh! It has such a strong aftertaste. Yuck.

Help For The Dreaded Facial Hair?

I prefer to wax myself. I have a wax pot like at the salon. I buy the sticks and the papers and wax all my hairy face parts at home! It's awesome and saves a ton of money. I used to pay $50 every two weeks to get waxed. Way better than plucking and less expensive than a laser'

    Fruit Smoothie

I can always taste that twang of the yogurt even with fruit. I really dislike yogurt. I think it would be fine to just use milk with the protein powder.

    Post Op Questions

I also had a weird pain/numbness in my left thigh and butt area. It went away after about a week. I'm a little over 6 weeks out and I've only been truly hungry about twice and that's because I hadn't eaten anything all day. I did experience some wicked food cravings during my two week full liquid phase. Evidently this was my mourning period. I would have killed somebody for a bite of pizza.

    For Life?

I couldn't tolerate them either. I've never had one. I didn't and still haven't (I'm 6 weeks out.) managed to get 60 grams of protein in a day. No side effects yet but I'm told my hair will start falling out.
