Step away from the scale! It is not our daily friend. My scale says I am in a stall, but my clothes feel looser every day, so I know something is going right. Like PP said, measure yourself and look for the non-scale changes.
As for the big losses, I find that the really big losses were either people with lots to lose or guys. People with less to lose will lose it slower and guys lose weight faster anyway. Well, that's what I choose to think anyway.

One that I have developed recently, as my weight has gone up:
I can't wait to not have to check the weight limits on things: zip-lining, bungee jump rides, treadmills, chairs, etc....
Also, as a Coach bag-a-holic: I can't wait to not be disappointed that the new purse I fell in love with doesn't fit on my arm in any comfortable way, shape or form because the straps are too small for my chubby arms.

Just remembered one: I can't wait to not have my arse cheek pinched/caught as I sit on a toilet with a loose seat that shifts off in one direction while I overcompensate in the other direction. Ouchie.

Well, my one year anniversary was on Sept. 27, 2012, and I am down 86lbs. I am very excited & blessed to have come thus far without any issues or problems. I am down from a size 26 to a 14W, from 296lbs to 210lbs. I am so close to "onederland"!! I am continuing on my journey with about 50lbs to goal. I will post pictures soon.
It has been an amazing journey. Before surgery, I had diabetes, high blood pressure, acid reflux, and lots of swelling. All diseases are gone, but still dealing with some acid reflux. I feel so much better physically and confidence level has skyrocketed. I am excited about continuing my journey in the coming months.

So, I have a date of Oct 24th- unless the doc doesn't like the way they have scheduled his day. Here's hoping it works.
Anyway, I am on Day 1 of the Pre-Op diet, and I hope these two weeks just fly by. Just trying to get the clearance for surgery and whatever else I have to do.

WOW~ I love your way of thinking! I'm actually going to steal that from you. Thinking about this a "rebirth" is truly a great way of putting this journey. Good luck to you!

Well, not 1 day turn around, but my Aetna experience was just as good. Doctor's office submitted on 9/27. I phoned on 9/28, and they said check back Monday. I called Monday and was told they were waiting for some additional information. Called today and was told they approved it yesterday! I am so excited.
Must say the Aetna people I spoke to were all very sweet, helpful, and polite (then again, I was too). The pre-certification lady even transferred me to the Benefits people when I wanted to double check level of coverage (100% for both hospital & dr).

There was an artist that did this just recently. She weighed about 320lbs and lost half of her body weight, and took lots of pictures, mostly nudes and stuff. It was eye-opening. It was uplifting and disheartening at the same time. These were the first real photos I have seen of the dreaded extra-skin, and I am still not over it.

So, we went to Six Flags today. What I want to know is what model did they use to design the seating on some of the rides? I mean, really, on an airline seat I fit ok and just barely need an extender, but I was almost twelve inches shy of clicking the seat belt on El Torro. Rolling Thunder is over 30 years old, so I can excuse that, sort of. The rest of the coasters I didn't even bother.
I know I am big, but I have no problems in Disney or Sea World. It just seems that Six Flags is way out of proportion.
Oh, and to the guy who made the lap bar go down the extra two clicks on the Dark Knight- thanks ever so much. My right kidney always wanted to get up close and personal with my left one, not to mention my liver and spleen.
This was the worst fat person day I ever had in my life, and I will probably have physical bruises to go along with the emotional ones.

After talking with the office coordinator, I said I must wait. Well, two days later there I was on the phone again, just checking. The papers are in and the nice gentleman gave me the claim number and told me what date they had put on for surgery. He said call again on Monday/Tuesday to check because the nurse had not reviewed the fie yet.
Oh boy, I know I will be itching to call again Monday.
