  1. Ok it's time to clutch those Smart phones and sing Kumbaya!
  2. This is H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S!! I am weak from laughing so hard.
  3. As much as I love and miss my drink of choice (orange Fanta) I just can't do it. I can't sabotage my progress and certainly not my 1 month old sleeve not to mention my sexy curves that I'm starting to see! That Fanta is so not worth it. Nevertheless, folks, if you post something on here expect a response whether it's for what you wrote or against what you wrote, and that's the "skinny" on that! Gotta go look at myself in the mirror! Lol
  4. At 4 days out get in what you can and don't over do it. Your insides are still swollen and you are healing. The main thing is to get in Protein through shakes preferably because that's really all you should be taking in at this point-liquids. They say get in 64oz of Water. Tomorrow will be 1 month post op and I finally got to 48oz yesterday. It gets better and easier with time.
  5. You need time for the anesthesia and if any, morophine, out if your system.

    Being Sick Post Op

Happened to me around the same time maybe 10 or 11 days post op. I slowed down, rested and took in a lot of warm chicken broth and was fine after 2 or 3 days.

    What To Eat?

I blend whatever fruits or veggies I desire. For instance I will blend strawberries or raspberries into my dinner Protein shake. I will cook my veggies down and blend into a high protein chicken Soup (homemade). If I want veggies with my chicken or fish I will eat 2oz of chicken or fish and 1 oz of a veggie. But 3oz if I'm omitting the veggie. Just learned to make this modification this week. I was sleeved June 28 and down 32 but total of 49 since pre-op diet.
  8. This is one thread that I am struggling with! Wow the first one that somewhat has my blood boiling for several reasons. When we gain weight people don't say "Wow, You've put on some weight!" If they did we would cry, get angry, go into a depressed state, etc. We we loose weight people say, "Wow, you've lost weight and you look great!" And we do what? Some say thanks and move on. Some are offended? Really? I say thanks and add "and I feel great." Then there are those who say nothing about your loss. And we are offended? Really? Perhaps some people don't know how to approach a person who has lost weight. Nevertheless, we should not have expectations about others and what they may or may not notice or say. Focus on YOUR success. Reward YOURSELVES. Be YOUR own cheerleader. People who really matter in your lives and are concerned with your health will sound sincere and will have meaningful conversations with you about it. Furthermore, their conversations prior to your weight loss were out of concern. People who see you almost everyday may not see your weight loss as quickly as someone who hasn't seen you in months. Weight loss is an emotional life changing thing! It is a serious topic of discussion and many of us are sensitive about it and rightfully so.

  11. Soror, at 2 weeks post op you probably are still carrying Water weight. You must get our protein in and as much water as possible. At 4 weeks I am still only getting in 32-40 oz of water. If you are exercising but not getting in enough calories/fuel kinda defeats the purpose of exercising. I think the beauty of the sleeve is that for the first 2 months if we are getting in our protein (60g +), water and Vitamins, the weight will come of effortless. After 2 months I hope yo increase my exercising and caloric intake and will work harder. Your body is still healing at 2 weeks! Heck, at 4 weeks I'm still healing.
  12. When I started taking pictures and comparing before shots is when I noticed. Then I did a fashion show with old clothes that could no longer fit. And finally I went to the grocery store and my student didn't recognize me and that was at 2.5 weeks post-op!
  13. My hernia was repaired during surgery. I thought that's what most surgeons did.

    Weight Lost In 6 Weeks

It hasn't been a month for you yet you are doing FINE! If you loose 20lbs per month that's great everything else is a bonus!
  15. I know that I can't go back to my old habits expecting to keep the weight off. My old habits included eating way too much food not just the unhealthy food but healthy food as well . I needed portion control. Nothing is wrong with eating pizza, a slice, it's when you down an entire pizza that becomes dangerous which I had done in the past. I agree with everything in moderation but also in due time. This is my weight loss phase so I must practice healthier choices and my sleeve is the tool to help me with that. Now the maintenance phase is going to be the test of what I learn these next 1-2 years. I am not in a hurry to drive by my favorite fast food place Whataburger because I know that Whataburger is not going to help me in the long run. Will I ever go back? Perhaps one day or maybe not. One day at a time and I'm not trying to sabotage my own success at weight loss. I can't afford to. My health is way too important which is why I had the surgery. The sleeve has already helped me save money from going to restaurants and Enjoy cooking again.
  16. Y'all should get accupuncture or sip on some Braggs ACV (2 tbsps and 4 tbsps of warm water) it's a natural cure and beats those chemicalized pills. Sip don't gulp and your acid reflux will go away.
  17. Honestly 30-45 minutes of walking is the best or water aerobics. I think costly gym memberships are overrated. Put on your favorite music and headphones and get to walking. I'm on my way out of the door to do just that.
  18. When can milk be consumed? Before surgery I drank 8oz of organic fat free milk every morning. I miss my milk.

    Got Milk?

So I talked to my NUT about milk. She sai she dies t recommend dairy for effective weight loss. I said is this a sleeve recommendation or in general. She said in general they don't recommend dairy (milk and cheese). She also said if I start drinking it be cautious if my weight loss stalls. I told her miss my organic fat free milk which I would drink 8 oz per day. If I did I would not eat yogurts and cheeses in the same day. With that info I am going to start drinking my milk on August 1st and see how it goes for one month. I just can't see how one serving of dairy per day can stop or slow down weight loss.
  20. Soda that is...lol Before surgery I was an orange Fanta chick. If I was having a moment I needed that orange Fanta. It felt sooooo good going through my veins. I would close my eyes and just feel that cold orange Fanta go smoothly down my throat. It was my drug! I has my last one during my pre-op. Funny thing is now I don't crave it. Confessions of an orange Fanta recovered addict thanks to the sleeve!
