    Where Can I Get Weighed?

Agree! I don't want a scale either. My trick is to go to Wal-Mart and "try" them out. I do it about once every couple weeks. Works for me. If I have one at home I guarantee I will become obsessed with it.
  2. I see many posts from folks asking for opinions on telling co-workers. I wish to share my story in hopes it will give you your answer. While at work Tuesday (2 weeks post op) I had an episode. My BP droped and I passed out. Now keep in mind I just had my follow up Monday and all was good. This drop was a result of my weight loss and meds adjusting. My body needed to be off meds before we thought, a good thing, but a hard way of telling me. Anyway, point is, my co-workers knew my situation and were able to pass this info on to the ER. If they would not have, who knows what path the ER docs would have taken to wake me up? The doc said he had seen this before and can appear on the surface to be a suizure, heart issue or stroke. The treatment I needed is VASTLY different from the above needed treatments. Knowing what they knew they knew to check for leaks. I was discharged today and doing great. Off all meds and hoping all is well from here. Please tell those around you what's up, you never know. Do I regret my surgery? Absolutely not. I wish my journey was smother but no journey is easy. But please heed my message, bring those that my have to answer questions, when you can not into the loop. Your life may depend on it.
  3. All was going well till today. I woke up and was so lightheaded I decided to take the day off. I pulled myself together to make it to a follow up. I was sure of two things I've lost some weight and my BP was low, maybe time to adjust meds already? Anyway I am down 40 pounds since the start of my pre-op diet (20 pre, 20 post) and mt BP was 100/60 very low from my norm. (weight July 4th 396, surgery 7/17, today 356) My meds were adjusted and they took some blood. As soon as I stood up I hit the floor, blacked out! I woke up on the floor with a nurse doc and wet wash clothes and a Coke. They made me drink it! I did feel better but was angry I passed out and angry I had forced a coke. I have one more week of liquids per surgeon, however pcp suggested I move to mushed ASAP, he said my body is telling me to eat and move past the liquids. But take it slow. I am frustrated this happened and hate feeling this way. I would rather be in pain than lightheaded and dizzy. In a nutshell BP is moving sooner than we thought and need to eat more substance. Btw, blood surgars are normal and I am not diabetic. Anyone else have this leg of the journey? Waiting a call back from Dr. Nick. I hope this passes soon. Thanks!

    Two Weeks And Some Issues.

Thanks for the feedback. I am getting my Water in. Having no problem with that. Moving towards some zero vitiaman water or g2. And moving towards mushies ( thin mushiness) I really didn't notice that the Protein shakes were going through me until I stopped and thought about it. I was focused on not being constipated. Oops. Hoping tomorrow is better. Ill manage but this sucks!
  5. Any thing not natural ( other than surgical metal in you) has to corne out.
  6. Hey all. I am 11 days out. All is going well with one exception. I can not sleep to save my life. I feel good, I can get comfortable. I just can't fall asleep. I am wondering if this was a problem with anyone else? I have not taken anything as I am following the post op instructions to a T. Any input or thoughts? Thanks troops!
  7. Hey troops... I was just curious when did you physically start to notice your weight dropping? I am a week out and I can tell a little here and there (hands and feet). However I was just wondering if at a month, two, did it hit you like a ton of bricks that you are losing? Just curious....
  8. It never came up for me. But I didn't ask either.

    4.5 Months Out

So very happy for you!!!! Amazing! Gives me hope on my goals. Kudos!!!!!
  12. Hey all. This is my first post after months of stalking you all. My name is Aaron, 36, living in Mississippi, but Iowa is home. I am off to Dallas on July 17th for my sleeve with Dr.Nick. Very excited but starting to freak! Today was a bad pre-op diet day. Still under my calorie goal, just not good choices. My first cave! The thoughts of doubt I swore off have started to race through my mind, none the less I will push forward. Just need to see some reassurance from this great group of folks! I have the overwellming support of co-workers but not the family. In fact flying solo in Dallas because of that. Though it bugs me, I was expecting it. Anyway been a big boy all my life but ready to move on from my weight and it's developing issues (knees , bp, odd looks!) Before my pre op I was exactly 400. Ugh I wrote that! I am down to 390 since pre-op diet started seven days ago. It has been rough,I fear I'll jack it up... but it happens. When I hit my goal I'm skydiving via a sling shot from a roller coaster! You all are so supportive of each other so I had to jump in. Looking forward to being in here and wishing everyone well!
  13. Same here. Surgery in Tuesday. Fell like I have been hit by a truck today. I can walk about 5 minutes then I am back to zero. Pain in better but it hurts. Water is not a problem. Zero app for anything else. Had the chicken broth in my hand and put it back. I am good with water and slim fast for now. Sleeping better everytime I lay down. I can tell its getting better....

Have To Lose 36 Lbs. -- How?

I managed to drop 25 in two weeksand I didn't think I could. What I did: No "last meals" just hit start and go. Use my fitness pal, set your goal at 1000 calories. Drink a slim fast for breakfast and for lunch, do not skip! Give your fridge and pantry inventory away. All of it! Go shopping, spend 100 bucks on slim fast, chicken brest, lean pork frozen veggies etc. Eat a 500 calorie dinner. Protein first. ( if you research 500 calories meals you will be surprised what you can actually eat on 500 calories!) Exercise 1 hr a day, I swam laps. First four days will be suicidal. By day 10 you'll be satisfied with a 500 calorie dinner. Best of luck! If I can manage this anyone can!
  15. All in all, not doing to bad. Only real complaint is heartburn feelings and the pop rocks throat sensation. I hope it stops very soon! Procedure went well... Liver was nicely shrunk. I lost 25lbs preop, gained some back thanks to the IV bag. I'm not complaining at all, I expected it. Sore and can't sleep at all, I have maybe slept a total of two hours since surgery on Tuesday am. Hoping tonight breaks that cycle. I hope all my fellow July 17th'ers are doing well and saying prayer for the upcoming roster! I'll keep ya posted. If anyone has the heartburn magic antidote... Post away!

    July 16Th Sleevers!

Sitting here way for my ride to the airport. I am scheduled for Tuesday. Nervous as well. All will be good! Scared as hell but am ready for this.
  21. I I have finished packing for my surgery on Tuesday. I fly out to Dallas tomorrow. Though I know I want and need to do this the voices in the back of my head questioning the reasoning came down on me like a ton of bricks! B@stards! I actually went into the office just to keep myself busy. I usually swim but it's storming pretty good. Anyway I think I'm 20 lbs down from the pre-op diet. I have no desire to have a scale, when I feel good I'll be cool with it no matter the number. Though my goal is to get to one hundred something! I'll keep you all posted. Dallas and the losers bench here I come!
  22. Way to go! Looking good!
