35 Grams Of Protein Salmon Quiche

Kefir is a probiotic milk - very good for you! You can find it in the dairy section of any major grocery/speciality store.

What I Ate At Sweet Tomatoes

Actually looks very nutritious and as far as quantity goes: I can live like that!
  3. Wonderful news! Great job! Keep up the fabulous work...looking forward to more updates as you progress in your journey.
  4. As I approach surgery time (late September/early October) I continue to constantly worry about throwing a blood clot or dying on the OR table. I know that is a terrible thing to say, but I can't help but think "what would happen to my husband and 4 year old son should something terrible happen to me." Anyone else worry about this? Or anyone post-op worry about it right up until and going into surgery? I don't want to get worked up about it and be so nervous going into surgery that I make myself physically sick. Any suggestions on how to move past this fear???? Am I needlessly worrying???

    Intake Appointment

No, not yet - I actually have my intake appointment on 8/14 and then I am looking to schedule surgery for late Sept/early October - you have a surgery date yet?

    Intake Appointment

Wow! That is awesome! Get it all done at one time = sweet! Good luck to you!
  7. Currently, as a pre-opper I think nothing of slamming back a bottle of Water after a long walk or workout to quench my thirst. I have often wondered how this will work post-op. Are you still able to slam a bottle of water? Obviously I know that right after surgery and probably for a few months out it is all about sipping, sipping, sipping BUT with that said what about being months/years out - are you able to turn up a bottle of water and "chug" it?

    What I Won't Miss....

Wow! That is awful that people make noises at you. Seriously? What in the HELL is wrong with people? I share your same list - I am looking forward to so much in my new "skinny" life! Good luck to you.

    9 Days After Surgery

How tall are you? They say taller people have larger stomachs. What size bougie did your doc use? Are you a quick healer? Maybe you don't have as much swelling as others. Everyone's experience can/will be different. I would say if you don't have any pain I am sure you are fine. If you had a leak and food pouring out, you would know it...

    Soooo Hungry

Come on, family, show this girl a little respect! She can't be snacking like that....can't you guys wait?
  11. That is wonderful! Kudos to all the fabulous hubbies and other super supportive family members. I have a rocking hubby like that too! He is so supportive of all my decisions and everything I do. He has loved me through thick (currently) and thin (someday post-op). 3 cheers for the hubbys! HIP HIP HIP HOORAY!!!

    Cramps

Kidney stone pain will hurt in your lower back where your kidneys are located. What kind of pain are we talking about??

    Intake Appointment

6 hour intake appointment???? Why so long?
  14. Wow! You look wonderful. What a dramatic change. You look so healthy and happy! Do you have a lot of loose skin? Did you lose a lot of hair? Any recommendations for a pre-opper?

    Sleep Study In Progress

It is an interesting experience! I slept like a baby and yes, the beds are super comfortable at most of those facilities. It is weird b/c the rooms are wired with infared and night vision cameras so they can watch you while you sleep. So freaky!

What I Ate On Vacation (Sleeved July 2Nd)

You are only 4 weeks post-op and are already able to eat all that? Wow! What was your post-op diet like?

    Insurance And Band Removal ?

I believe a lap band revision to gastric sleeve is considered one WLS procedure. They take the band out, let the stomach rest and heal and then convert you to a gastric sleeve in October. Insurance would be billed for the procedure in full at the time the revision is completed. I would call your insurance company just to get a clear understanding.

    The First Few Days

Do hiccups hurt? I am not sleeved yet and just curious if it hurts to hiccup post-op.

    The First Few Days

Why are you afraid of resting too much? You should be getting rest - that is when your body heals best. You don't need to sleep the day away but don't be afraid of rest.
  20. What is optifast? And what is that for? Pre-op diet???

    Squid Salad

Not a fan of sushi or marinated squid salad; although I have to admit I eat some pretty ecclectic stuff!

    A Little Blue.

I haven't been sleeved yet; however, that has always been a concern of mine too - regretting it. I think after your body heals and acclimates to the limited amount of calories, you will be on the upswing. I do hear that months/years out you can eat a normal size meal, for example: 3 oz. of Protein 1/2 cup of veggies 2-3 bites of a starch I hear it gets better - hang in there - congrats on the weight loss, so far and keep it up and keep us posted!

    Tattoo Or Not To Tattoo

I would not do the tattoo at this time. I would make it your ultimate goal. You could have to have plastic surgery for loose skin or any myriad of things. I recommend meeting with a tattoo artist to design the tattoo you are interested in and then wait until you have lost all the weight to have it done. Just my 2 cents--

    Surprise Hiatal Hernia

I have a hiatal hernia too - I am aware of it though and surgeon is going to fix it while he is there too. I do hear that recovery is a little different with that and the VSG but not any lengthier. Glad they found it and repaired - good luck to you in your weight loss journey!
