  1. I also researched and found that he has a great reputation. When you got out of surgery was there a lot of pain and gas? I know the walking helps from what i hear. I am flying down from the east coast. I guess one concern i have is post op. I know after the 2 days in the hospital i get 1 more night in a hotel and then fly home. I am wondering if the flight home will take a toll. I know that when i fly my feet swell a bit. I just hope it is not that painful in the stomach area on the flight home.

I flew all the way from VA and knowing that I was having such a major surgery

I stayed two more nights in San Diego and flew home business class. It was worth the extra money to be comfortable.

  2. Hello!

I would love to hear what different folks are "eating" at 4-5 weeks out? I have realized that all Dr's advise differently' date=' and would love to find out what folks are doing, or what they did, if they can remember.. It seems all my local friends have blocked this whole stage out! lol.

Thank you so much for your help![/quote']

I am four weeks out yesterday. I am eating Soups, chicken, mashed potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, macaroni salad, tuna salad, scrambled eggs, really well done toast, crackers, moist ground beef, macaroni and cheese. Last night I was very hungry so I ate a piece of toast but it was not toasted enough and it was to big a piece to I threw it up. I have a cup of coffee first thing in the morning and then my Protein shake. I started taking an antacid yesterday because the heartburn was horrible. Prilosec. It says it will take a couple of days to work but I already feel better. I do not worry about the calories as I am eating so little of everything. I have not been on. A scale since last Sunday. I was down 16 pounds.

  3. Hi' date=' I am brand new to this forum. I have definitely decided for the sleeve and my insurance is an absolute no-go, so I'm self- pay. I am debating between NYU and Mexicali/Dr. Aceves . I could use any advice pros and cons. It is all pretty overwhelming. Also , can someone verify that you CAN cross the border with the enhanced ID.

    Thanks![/quote']

Yes you can. My daughter used hers and one person with us only had birth certificate and driver license.

I forgot to say that this was last month. June 10, 2012

  4. I'm wondering the same thing. I'm scheduled for sometime in August too and have the same fear. I don't want to have the surgery then after say to myself "why couldn't I just eat less and do it the natural way". There are so many not so good stories on this site and that scares me a lot!! Other than being 90 pounds over weight' date=' I'm healthy. I don't want to acquire problems from the surgery. I originally thought I would have the surgery, I would heal, eat less, lose weight, and have a great new life. From what I'm reading, it's like a battle to be normal again and that scares me!!!! I'm really on the fence. I was really gung how before I joined this site. Now, not so much. I don't know what to do,[/quote']

I had my surgery 24 days ago and I know I did the right thing. I could not lose the weight and keep it off. I have already lost 16 pounds. I am looking forward to having more foods and never regain.
