  1. So, the saga continues. I completed the diet, psych eval, etc. Now they want me to see a nutritionist. The dr office says that this should be the last step. I certainly hope so, I've been working on this since January!
  2. Thanks everyone for the support. I do have employer provided insurance and it does cover bariatric surgery if qualified.
  3. Good luck. I also have Cigna I have been working for over 6 months on my prep. Did the supervised diet, got the mental health ok, a letter from my primary care with my co-morbities and his approval. All of that was submitted to Cigna on July 6th. They asked for additional information from my surgeon which was provided over a week ago. I'm sill waiting!
  4. I am waiting on approval from Cigna. I completed the 6 month supervised weight loss ( they changed the requirements to 3 months when I was at the 6 month mark), had a letter from my doctior and from a psychiatrist. They still came back for more information. the surgery center has sent the information and now I'm waiting. The original paperwork was submitted on July 2nd. They told me that Cigna is the worst for taking the full 30 days and very rarely gives a decision earlier. The waiting is frustrating!
  5. Thanks for your support everyone! I'm hoping the insurance approval comes through quickly.
  6. This is my first time to this site. I have had my first appointment with the doctor, the paperwork has been submitted to the insurance company and I'm awaiting approval. Because of my insurance, I just completed a 6 month supervised weight loss program with my primary care doctor. I've been loosely following Medifast and lost about 18 lbs. Now that I've finished that, I'm eating all my favorites that I don't think I will be able to enjoy after the surgery. I've regained about 5 lbs. I'm very excited to enter this new phase of my life; I've been overweight throughout adulthood. I've tried Weight Watchers and other programs. I am usually fairly successful, but it doesn't last and I regained what I lost and then some. I think my BMI is about 46.5. I have high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I am also pre-diabetic. I'm ready to be healthy and do things that other "normal" size people do. I don't want to worry if the airplane seatbelt is going to fit. Looking forward to sharing my journey with others on this site. Thanks!
