  1. Congratulations! And I think your topic says it all.
  2. Welcome and enjoy this great forum. Lots of smart people here who have gone through different weight control surgeries. Almost all questions can be answered here. Just make a new topic and ask your question(s).
  3. Best wishes on your recovery and Congratulations. I pre-register at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital on Aug 3 and my band date is Aug 6. I've lost 31 pounds getting ready for this day and hope to lose 2-3 pounds by weigh-in on Aug 3. Keep us posted on your recovery.
  4. I hope to see my toes one day while standing.
  5. When I was on Atkins, I had the same problem as you. I purchased Miralax and it worked for me. I'm not banded until Aug 6, but I practiced ahead and I found if you steam veggies and then use blender to puree them it doesn't taste bad and this takes me back to regular.
  6. I use my local Big 5 Sporting goods store. They always have a great selection of shoes and at discounted prices. They carry Dr. Scholls walking shoes for special needs.
  7. I drink a protein shake in the morning. I also freeze it for 1 hour. Turns very thick and then you have to drink it slowly as it thaws.
  8. Congratulations and start walking more today to help get rid of mucus. And when you sleep on your back use an extra pillow to elevate the head position to help drain better. Best wishes
  9. 67jax, NEVER take someone's BP medicines thinking it will help you. Check with your doctor if it stays high for a few days. Stay away from salt and if you're a soup eater from a can of soup, please check the high content of sodium and look for a lesser one to eat. Remember, the LIte in soup doen't necessary mean lower sodium, read the label.
  10. Congratulations and very impressive weight loss in such a short time.
  11. Best wishes on a speedy recovery. The journey begins...
  12. Congratulations and prayers for a speedy recovery.
  13. I got a letter today from Anthem BCBS approving my lapband on Aug 6. I'm stoked!
  14. I'm finally approved for Aug 6. Looking forward to band day. Best wishes to all.
  15. Wow, home to recover so fast. This is great news. Continued prayers for you on a speedy recovery.
  16. May the good Lord bless you. Your new journey begins. Let us all know how you are soon.
  17. My PCP was for me getting Lapband surgery. He recommended the doctor to me and set the gear in motion. My band date is Aug 6. No insurance approval so far. Hurry up Anthem BCBS.
  18. Good luck you two! Your journey will begin soon. My band date is Aug 6.
  19. Congratulations! You're working steady and hard to achieve the goal.
  20. I'm not tracking calories but maybe I will after the Band is in.
  21. I've worked so hard in losing weight prior to Aug 6 Band date. I'm fearless and want it done! I am so prepared for this surgery and new journey. I will defeat being overweight and get to a normal weight for me. Nothing is going to stop me. I've done much research through Allergan lab findings from my sister. Bring it on, I'm ready! Best wishes fellow Banders.
  22. My surgery is on Aug 6 and my pre-register is on Aug 3. I have no approval from Anthem BCBS. I contacted Anthem yesterday on their Anthem.com and left a message. I need to know prior to Aug 3 or surgery will be cancelled by me. I'm fearful of getting stuck with the bill. I might call on Jul 30 Anthem. My surgeon's office hadn't receive anything. Keeping my fingers crossed.
  23. If my band date of Aug 6 gets approved by Anthem BCBS, I'm taking off Aug 6 to 10 and return to work on Aug 13. My boss is directing me to take the week off and doesn't want me to appear at work any earlier.
