  1. I cannot even imagine losing 70 lbs and keeping it off! Im a bit concerned about adverse and long term effects. Glad to see 3 years out you are doing well. Did you have any post surg complications? Nausuea? Were you on birth control pills around sugery time? I am on them just to regulate period . Due to clotting concerns they want to take me off before and after. Hoping losing weight helps regulate me!

Don't worry after your surgery your periods will be normal and you will be off all the medicines ...I m two years and out and I m not at any medicine for regulating my periods or for my insulin resistance...in fact I got pregnant at my first surgiversary....things are cool but the weight loss is still slower than normal sleevers.

  2. Ok' date=' this seems like the place to bring up this question. So, my fellow PCOSers.... after not having a period for 7 months, and now losing 42 pounds, I'm having the period from hell. I sorta expected it, but wowwie, is it heavy. I'm not sure when I should be alarmed. I'm on day 2 of the worry flow. Last year, my Ob-gyn gave me a pill to induce my period because I had a thick build up in my uterine wall from not properly cycling... so, I know thats whats happening. Its just concerning.... and uncomfortable. Anyone else deal with something similar?[/quote']

It took more than one year after surgery for the periods to be regular....but every month they are kinda different...some times they are so heavy they last up to 4-6 weeks and some times they just disappear on third day...my doctor says it will take a while to get adjusted...so keep your fingers crossed! You won't need any pill to induce periods after losing around 100 lbs...I m off all the medicines now.

  3. Look on livingsocial and groupon for laser hair removal treatments if it doesn't go away. But I can tell you that my dr said the weight will affect my hormonal variations and it may slow the growth' date=' but it won't take it away. Note: if you choose laser hair removal, let it grow in a bit to reduce the number or visits you have to go for. Usually three should take it away for at least a couple of years I am told by a friend who has a lot of facial hair because of her ethnicity. I have yet to try it but she is a pro and I have never seen a hair on her! So I'd take the advice. :) good luck![/quote']

Thanks for sharing the info...please do let me know if you get some good advice from your friend....

  4. Maybe I am just re-living past dieting failures but this last week I have been feeling nervous that I suddenly won't lose another pound from where I am right now' date=' no matter what I do. I journal, get plenty of Protein, do my best to get all of that Water in and havent had any bad carbs in months, do my best with activity as well though I am a bit limited at the moment with arthritis - Do you guys ever feel like this? Or folks who are a long way out - did you have that feeling too?

I think I am just freaking myself out lol. I want it so bad but I guess I've felt like such a failure with taking care of myself for so long that I still am thinking that a healthy BMI will be forever out of reach for me.[/quote']

I am feeling the same since last two weeks....my scale moved a lil bit after 2 month stall and haven't moved since then.i m freaking out too ...feels like I will never lose weight again!superbly distressed these days!

  5. I also have PCOS and had surgery to help with conception. I am 4.5 months post-surgery and have lost 75 of the 120 that the doctors wanted me to lose over the year (I would like to lose 150).

I had electrolysis for my facial hair and it has worked great.

I am getting conflicting information from my doctors. I am nearly 36 y/o and have been trying to conceive for 3 years. The OB/GYN and Fertility Specialist want me to start trying again in September 2012. This will only be 6.5 months post-surgery. The surgeon is recommending that I wait until one year post-op. She is telling me that the only reason to wait is so that I can lose more weight' date=' but that I should not have any additional complications due to surgery, especially if I wait until 6 months post-op.

My husband and I are tyring to decie what to do.

Have any of you received this type of information?[/quote']

My surgeon suggested me to wait for at least one year to get conceived ....give your surgery time to heal and your body to adjust to this change.luckily I conceived exactly after be year and the whole pregnancy period was horrible.so I would suggest you to wait till one year and you will get pregnant with out any treatment.trust me it's not easy after sleeve.

  7. Hi Kendra ......I can understand your situation,I have been through this all my life.i was over weight since my childhood and my best friend since then was skinny.she used to do the same thing as your A,did.she always used to tell me that no body's gonna marry you becoz you are so fat,you are not gonna be pregnant in life becoz of your weight, but I m sure you would do great alone....you don't any one beside you....she left me the day when she heard me getting engaged and then married and luckily I conceive just after my wedding although we were married the same day.

My surgeon told me one thing and it's damn so true ....he said after your surgery your friend circle will change....!and at that time I didn't understand his point but after two years I have gone through a lot ....all my old friends have left me who were my closest friends for years but just like your friend A .....they didn't like the idea of taking care of our selves and look ebeautiful and not inferior to any one now.

You just focus on your weight thing...she was never your friend so give yourself a pat for seeing her real face.no body is sincere to you other than your husband and family so just focus on them and see the big changes that come along with your surgery.feel comfident about you being look good and beautiful and keep your head high!

Good luck with your weight loss

    Love

  8. My dr told me to give your self one year and exactly on my first surgiversary I conceived and I just had a healthy boy without any effort or treatment.this surgery really worked for me......being an Asian me and my husband were under terrible pressures for getting pregnant from family side both mine and hubby's.but now every things just fine although I had a hard time through out my nine months but I guess they were worth waiting for.
