  1. 6 weeks since I had my surgery and they can't find the port. My 1st fill was two weeks ago and they ran into problems finding my port due to swelling and scar tissue. They said they may have got 2 to 3 cc's in, so today needing a fill very bad I go back. Same problem today I still have swelling and this time they even got the sonogram machine on me and still can't really find the port. Now I have to go back on Monday for some type of xray(fluoroscope) to see if they can see the port. I'm very upset and nervous about this, I really hope there is not a problem because if they have to go back in I don't know what I'll do. They poked me several times and I still don't think we got anything, I'm so confused and now very sore, bruised and swollen.

Please tell me has anyone else had this happen to them :(

  2. That is great advice. There truly is no where close by that I can walk indoors. I live in a rural area 20-30 miles from the nearest mall and the area I work in doesn't have anything that I would go to because it's such a bad area, I stay at my office and don't really go out much. I could do the "walk" in my home, I will have to look that up, never heard of her. I am posting a picture of me in that new shirt. (Bad hair day it's so humid)

  3. You will find it helpful to read my sisters blog www.300poundsdown.com She is following my plan is down 180lbs - look at her past entries in posts - I think it will give you the bump you want.

Her blog is so inspiring, I have saved it to my favorites and anytime I need that push I can look at it and know if she can I can. Thanks so much for sharing it with me!!

  4. I really don't expect miracles. Probably just need that extra push to get me to where I need to be physically and emotionally. I am dealing with a lot of personal stuff (as most are) on top of this. The day after my surgery my daughter who has lived away for 7 years moved back in with us and as much as I love her being here it's been a challenge along with this. Yes I have to get on with the band wagon and exercise more, I was doing pretty well with my walking and then the rains came and I think it will rain forever but there are other things I can do now that I have almost completely healed. I have definitely seen some differences and others have to, I just need someone who's been there to remind me of how, why and when. :)

  5. I have had some of those victories, my rings are to big now didn't wear them today because of that. My pandora Bracelet that was tight now fits :) and I was able to buy an AL shirt that they did not have in plus sizes in an ladies extra large, my daughters say it looks great. All my other Bama shirts are 2x and are way to big now. I can get up and down my steps without cringing from knee pain, my dogs are very happy about this! No I haven't walked as much as I should, I was and then we got into this rainy pattern and everyday when I get off work it has been raining. I have exercise equipment in my basement but can not get to it because my daughter recently moved back in and has it covered with her junk but I could do some cardio instead of watching dance moms!! So that's on me! I am feeling like I could do much more as far as exercise now then I did, I was so sore after the surgery that I knew anything other than walking was not going to happen. I think I can I think I can..................

I am keeping up with exercise and what I eat on myfitness pal, it's been a great help to me.

  6. Lucy that helps so much, I thought I was way behind and was getting really down. I was in tears Sat morning when my husband asked how it was going this week and I told him nothing had changed. He felt bad for even asking but my feelings have been very raw since my surgery. For some reason I go from happy to sad to angry in a minute which is not like me, I'm usually a very positive person.

  7. Feeling a little discouraged. I had my surgery on July 26th I had lost 10 pounds on the pre diet. I did not get any resistance until 3 weeks after surgery and now only have 3 cc's due to complications last time I had a fill. Since I have lost 8-10 pounds more and I say that because it seems to fluctuate a lot! I can eat almost anything and unfortunatly now I can eat a lot more of it and I'm hungry all the time. I just fill stuck. I have a dr appt late today and am hoping we can get a new fill in without the trama we had last time. I hoped I would lose 40-50 pounds by late November for our Disney trip but now I don't know if that will happen. My oldest daughter gives me the evil eye everytime we eat together because she is watching what I eat as much if not more than I do but I stay hungry. My calorie intake seems to be going up everyday, I'm still under 1200 calories but I have to do something quick. Mainly just need someone out there that's been through this to give me some good advice.

  9. Had my first fill today and I hate to be one of those winny people but it didn't go well. Even my wonderful doctor was upset that they had such a problem with it. It has moved deeper and they had problems finding it. I also have some Fluid behind the two large incisions that they tried to remove so I'm pretty sore. Only got 3 cc's in because of the problems, he said sometimes lighter skin people have more trouble than darker which really sounds weird but he said it is true. On the plus side I do like his scales better than mine, his show 2 more pounds lost than mine do so I'll take that!!! I go back in two weeks, I'm sure it will go better than today.

  10. I would tell you to try to refrain from them. My doctor really didn't have a big problem with me having them but said if I did he would rather me drink a regular soda than a diet and that I probably wouldn't want them anyway. He said anything with asperatame is bad bad bad for anyone, he will not allow anything in his home with it. Suggested I only use Truvia or real sugar which would be empty calories. I don't know if he put some sort of spell on me when he said that because I use to drink Diet Dr. Pepper constantly, now I haven't had one since July 15th, the day before my pre op diet started. I did take a sip of one just the other day just to see and honestly it didn't even taste good anymore. Plus the carbonation can cause you some discomfort with the band so I say no to soda's!! Crystal Light now has CL pure which is made with truvia, I am stooked about it and I use it to drink Iced tea (In the South you have to have your iced tea!)

  11. Had my surgery July 26th relize band with no restriction, doctor will not do a fill for at least 3 weeks. I have an appt Mon and I'm really hoping he will do it then. I have lost 14lbs since my pre diet but now thanks to myfitnesspal I realize my calories are going up everyday. Yesterday I barely went over 1000 which was the most so far it scares me, I don't want to gain more. My total goal is 95 lbs but I would love to be down at least 50 by Christmas. What do you think am I being realistic?

  12. Yep could be, I had that also the dr said the anesthesia causes it so I used laxatives and started drinking more Water. I'm still not drinking enough or even as much as I was pre op, have to make myself drink anything.

Two weeks out and my allergic reaction is beginning to heal (; there are still some bad places where my skin was torn due to it but it is getting better. Now the most pain I have is in my back which I've had that for years and around the two main incisions the port and where they put in the band itself. Those places are sore and I can see them clearly under my skin. Please someone tell me the soreness gets better!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We have had a very roof two weeks, hoping August will get better fast!
